  2. :) Yeah, you did buy a lot of the stock I had actually! Especially lots of those interesting TR-15T bits. Do you by any chance have a few parts of the TR-15T that I could buy back by the way for my Nimrod Racing Dyna? (If you still have them) ;) I'm looking for:

    - D4 part (gearbox/shock tower brace)

    - D7 part

    *Note that the numbers are from the trees of the Dyna Storm, not the TR-15T.

    If I would have these parts, I would pretty much have every single part in a reinforced plastic or in another way different from the stock car :lol: Just to finish it off :P

  3. I understand your switch to the TRF201, still it´s a shame to see one of the more hardcore Dyna drivers retiring his car to the shelf :D I wouldn't retire it completely, I'm sure you can take it to a race event and race it before or after the actual events - or at a local track :D

    I'll keep you informed on the parts - I really hope that I can get some useful information tomorrow from the employees at my school's workshop tomorrow to get this project going!

    Don't worry i couldn't forget about my DS after all the effort i put on it to make it competitive and be able to resist a track day, but will be only used on vintage events on simple track days.

  4. This is very intresting, if you will ever start a small production i'll probably buy a couple of set even if my Dyna is definitively retired from races, we had our last race past sunday! Now will be cleaned and kept for vintage classes if we will ever start a small champinship here in Italy....... If not will be a nice shelfer......

    TRF201 will take the place, still have to test it.....

  5. Hi,

    I have a complete set F&R on my Astute and i'm looking for advice on what kind of oil seal i have to use to rebuilt them, the o-rings are easy to find as they are always the same but it's not the same for the Oil seal that seats under the shock cap.

    I don't want to buy all the Tamiya damper bags to find the correct one, they all look similar but there are differences and with the wrong ones you have a shock that leak..... :huh:

    If someone can point me on the right direction i'd appreciate! :lol:

  7. This is my first Dyna Storm. I have to say its the smoothest buggy i have ever driven.

    Has a pink Acto power motor tthat we disscussed how cheap and good they are. Has a carbon fiber top plate..

    Is so nice too drive.

    Nice runner, and glad to see DS still on tracks......!! :)

    My TRF201 is now ready and my DS will have his last race october 17 (i want to finish this year championship with it...) and then will go on retire on the shelf, i'm a little bit sad about this. I will still use it on vintage meetings.

  8. The weight , funny you say that as this is no feather weight. In fact i think its heavier than my Big Pig. LOL.

    Just weighed it its 1560g with a Li Po battery , LRP Quantum2 Comp speedie and a micro RX. So its not light.

    Yes you are rigth it's a "stone", by today standards..... :lol:

    But don't try to make it lighter or you will never see it turning. :P

  9. There is nothing to add to the perfect Origineelreclamebord answer but i can share with you my experience as Dyna racer (i still use the car to race locally and up to national championship).

    To avoid the terrible D parts issue and have a great working rear end, i found a good compromise using Nimrod D parts (the ones without press nuts) well tightened with a good threadlock and the original rear arms, this because the nimrod ones are a nice piece of engineering but they are too strong and don't flex, this with the TR-15T rear C parts (still very easy to be found in the Bay).

    This way the rear end of the car is strong enough to race on a track without major issues and it's possible to finish races......

    On the front i use nimrod arms, but also the originals works fine and i just added some weight on front, 20 to 35 grams it depends from one track to another, this way you can have under control the understeering.

    The only error to avoid if you want to race the Dyna is to try to save weight, it has to be heavy........ :o Lipos and Brushless will do the rest......... B)

    Have fun with it it's still fast enough to palce well, even if TRF201X it's a lot easier to set and drive.

  10. and Finally the part you will probably never find as a spare, the TTC gear Shaft (Hen's teeth, a few other members have asked for them recently, maybe they found one?).

    Seems incredible but i've been able to find one on Ebay.de, still in the original bag part #3455262, never saw another one, really lucky find.......

  11. Hi,

    the Dyna took part at the Italian Championship, and i've been able to enter the last main........ already a success considering my skill and the poor old Dyna! The car had no big issues and resisted at practice sessions (saturday) + 5 qualifies and 3 mains.

    The car was very fast and stable with still some problems of understeer that improved a lot after some weight on front (30gr), probably 10 more can make it better on hard packed slippery tracks (italian Style). Considering the track style it was a good compromise, since it was half hard packed and half on "syntetic grass" were the car has a lot of traction.

    Car configuration was:

    - Asso truck front & rear shocks

    - Novak 8.5SS with GTB esc

    - Savox low profile Steering Servo

    - Losi Big Shot red tyres (rear)

    - Losi rib tyres silver (front)

    - Nimrod B parts F&R (rears had some problems but resisted....), Nimrod D parts, Tamiya TR-15T H, C, D5, steering system and rear shocks tower stay.

    For Singapore: Crazy Club is the event organizer and the club the own the track, very supportive and nice persons that did a fantastic job on the track.

  12. Hi all, im rebuilding my Astute and have no Ball Diff grease. I use Pronatur Triflow Grease in regular tamiya diffs, and it works no problem. Is this ok to use in a ball diff?

    The Asture ball diff (same as the King Cab one) is very "delicate" and you have to rebuilt it carefully following the manual. You have to use only specific Ball Diff grease you can find Tamiya one (#53042) or you can use one of the other on the market. I use the Associated Ball Diff grease (#6591) and it works wonder.

    If you don't know how much use your diff has, would be safer to buy a rebuilt kit to be sure to rebuild it with new parts. This way it will work for sure.

  13. By the way, how are the parts performing that I sent you? Happy with your front shock towers? :P

    Parts are great and makes a nice spare parts supply for races..... :(

    At the moment my Dyna is on the work bench and i'm working on it for the National Championship that will take place June 6th. :)

    Working also on front shock towers but they will be ready after.

  14. I also thought the D Part used to loosen, not break. I haven't broken any Nimrod Parts myself, so I can't really comment on how they break...

    I broke more than one D on my Dyna but only the original ones, they can barely resist a practice afternoon at the track if the car is run strong. I noticed that the probem is due by the fact that they loosen and take some play shortly after they broke...... If you keep them very firm the problem is a lot less evident.

    I have good result with Nimrod D V2 with a good treadlock they seems to resist the race track abuse.
