That is cool, like the shades. Always wanted a wild willy but never got round to it.

Does look nice in blue but i dont like the gold head lamps though.

I first asked about hop up dampers in a shop at merry hill and they wanted £80 so after that i thought £30 was a bargain

cheers theo, nice abarth you did a good job. i can see what you mean about smoke, can easily end up blacking out totally. i have got an old shell so will practice on that.
What pinion are you using with acto motor?
-
Thanks again suzy,
I can see what you mean about the cars looking more solid, it makes a big difference. also nice monte mini, roll cage is a nice touch. I just bought a m-03 old style mini rtr (cheated) quite nippy little cars. might look on ebay for a monte shell as i just got the blue with white roof.

I also fitted the tam tech oil dampers which helped a lot. paid £30 on ebay, The standard dampers never stop bouncing.
I was really dissapointed with the frog when i bought it because it was so slow. Even the gt motor is slow. It was such a shame as other wise its a good spec car. now its got all the speed it needs its a real cool car

I fitted the tekin 5.4kv brushless system. I think its enough. The car struggles to cope and it went through a set of rear tyres in one battery.

Cheers suzy,
I always thought you couldn't put dark colours on the back.

I ended up using a tamiya super stock RR motor with standard pinion and spur. found it to be fairly quick without any over heating problems.
I have raced against an rc10 b4 factory team spec with a 17 turn in and on tarmac acceleration is identical! dark impact handles and turns much better.
Of course on dirt the dark impact is far quicker.
I am quite impressed with it now, mate with b4 was not happy though

Hi, i am just in the process of painting the shell and have painted it the standard corsa grey and white. Noticed in the instructions you are supposed to paint the windows with smoke. Is there a best way to do this.
I assume the more coats the darker it gets but will it affect the corsa grey roof if i dont mask it?
Cheers

Yes, makes sense, going for a 23 turn motor with slicks and oil dampers.

it made sense so no one would have known

Sounds like a good idea, think i might go for that.
thanks

whats the best motor to fit in a mini?, i am running the stock 540 at the moment which does spin wheels and is fun but i think it needs slightly more speed. Don't want to go too mad as i don't think it would drive very well.
Cheers

Have you run it for 15 to 20 mins yet?
if so did it overheat?
-
I woud think you are going to have overheating problems just like me.
As for the foam cylindrical pieces what i did is use one in the top and one and a half in the bottom. if you look at page 8 the front is the same. all it does really is takes up some of the slck from the dog bones

Using 11 turn esc, 15 turn motor, 23t pinion and the 85t spur gear.
Still gets too hot though.
Tried a 17 t motor but it only lasted 20 min and wont work again
Have not seen any pinions less than 23 for it.
not sure what to do now.

Thanks a lot, info has been very helpful.
Have got hold of 23, 25, 27 and 29 pinions today. made sure got 0.5
cheers mate

I tried putting esc and receiver on opposite sides it did help a little but it still over heats and cuts out. I have now ordered an esc with an 11 turn limited to see if that works. ordered a 17 turn motor as well just in case it doesnt. next thing i will try is different size pinions. If that doesnt work i am ordering rc10 b4 rs which looks a lot better spec and comes with a 17 turn motor to start with. Its a shame but the tamiya stuff look like toys compared with other makes.
looks like this is just the bovver page
Any body out there?

I ended up building it with standard the standard motor, I have found the handling very good and the turn in is brilliant but the performance is very slow. I was surprised to find its slower than my standard hornet! I did once put my 15 turn motor in my hornet but it didnt make it any quicker. It obviously needed a different pinion.
I am going to try it in the dark impact now and see if its any good without changing anything else.
Is everyone else using the standard pinion and spur gear?
-
Help, I have never changed from a standard motor in any of my tamiya kits but would like to put a raven 15 by 2 in with a mtroniks rv15 esc into my dark impact.
Do i need to change pinion or spur gear? I would like to get the right balance for acceleration and top speed.
Any suggestions?
-
Hello everyone, never posted before as you can probably tell.
I am currently building a dark impact and would like to install a 15t Raven motor in stead of the standard one. I realise that i have also got to put an uprated esc in which i have got a mtronics rv15. The question is do i need to change anything else such as pinnion etc. If so what would be the best one to go for?
Cheers

Does anyone know what the top speed of a standard nitro force is?
