trev yes mate, i'm good to go [Y] that ford is gonna get it! i'm taking wild willy 2 chrome thing ( for the ford ) desert gator ( for general abuse ) dark impact ( backup if everything else goes wrong! lol ) oh and ????????????????????????????? [] [] [] its my latest project and should have been making its clumber debut @ the april meet, but its running now ( although on half of its intended power & and i'm too excited to wait till april ) and its flaming awesome, took it out on friday for a five minute run and i've never laffed so much in my life, god knows what it'll be like when its running right! [] i'm like a big kid with a new toy! ave it!!!!! i'm waiting for more parts so it wont be going swimming / ramping this time but in the future who knows!! hi @ irenl sorry if my post didnt come across o.k the point i was trying to make was there is a world of difference between a manta ray & a desert gator. back to the gator, the 1 you found in your lhs is indeed broken but all tamiya cars can break cant they? i think it only turns into an issue if they keep on breaking in the same place and so far from all the gators i've seen your lhs 1 is the first with a broken front tower so this does not point to being a weak area to me. if many more members were coming forward saying they broke the front tower it would be classed as a weak point. now the manta ray front tower is a known weak point and many members have broken these. just my opinion no offence meant. cheers devilsome []

hi gruntfuggly no its not a direct debit thats the problem (if it was it would easily sorted) its like i'm purchasing something every month from the same shop but paying with a bank card like switch etc where the card holder isn't present, very dodgy indeed hence the warning for others to be careful. the bank are actually being very helpful and put me onto some good experts about sorting the problem, which is underway now. i just wanted to warn others who sell (or try to) on this site as i know some are members on here to stop it happening to them. cheers devilsome []

hi guys, this is just a heads up for people who sell on auction sites, over a year ago when the ebay backlash was at it's height, i like many others started to look for other auction sites to trade on, and i found another auction site that looked fairly good you paid a one off low fee and it was free to list items you only had to pay if something sold, well alas the auction site didnt get many viewers so sales were low/non-exsistent, so o.k no harm done i tried and it didn't work so i closed the account, end of!......so i thought, now it turns out the said auction site have been taking money each month from bank account for over 12 months. o.k so i'll contact them to see what the badword they are playing at, oops i cant because everytime i go to contact them im not a registered user because i closed my account, there is also a lack of contact info to get in touch with the company. next step the bank, my bank they have always been helpful in the past and if i stop the money going out at least there will be no more charges! WRONG!! according to my bank who were helpful there is nothing they can do as the payments, taken each month are not a direct debit, and are treated like a new transaction each month! so in the end be careful when you close an auction site account and keep an eye on your bank charges from your account. i'm now taking the matter to my solictor to get back all the fees taken. i hope this helps you before you get to point i'm at! thanks so again guys this is just a warning, i have not named the site concerned tho you sellers may already know who i'm talking about from the information given. if not you can mail me for there name. to clarify within t/c rules i'm not claiming the site is corrupt/dodgy/crooks in any way shape or form but my money dissapereing each month is i'm sure you'll agree a complete pain in the ***! hi the motor in your pic is the correct acto power motor, the dyna storm pink acto motor has a different end bell as for the resister i'm sure it is not needed as none of mine have it and they are fine, i think it is something to do with the overseas market, but dont quote me on that! hope this helps you cheers devilsome []

i agree with all that [Y] the shock tower on the gator is nothing like a manta ray 1, its 2/3 times the thickness for a start and i have broken loads of MR 1's in the past but the gator 1 hasn't even got a crack in it! and its had loads more abuse than the MR's ever did. cheers devilsome! []
