I pulled a HP Suspension Set off an old HotShot. It seems to be in good shape and complete (I do need to clean it all up). Do any of you eagle eyed Hot Shot fans see any pieces missing (I tried my best to go through the instructions and match the parts). Thanks!

I checked through the Fox manual and I don't see measurements for the stock yellow CVA shocks. I still don't know if the black CVA shocks that I listed in the first post will work on a Fox. Thanks for the help.

That's one of the reasons I asked: I don't see the Fox on the list. But, I thought it was one of the first if not the first to use CVA shocks.

I'm working on an old Fox. It seems to have Duratrax golds on it. I want to replace these with Tamiya shocks. I like the black CVA ones in that they are like the original ones, but I just like the black look better. Thanks for the help! Also, a wheel/tire question. From searching I see that Wild one wheels/tires are the same as the Fox (just white instead of Gold). If I get Wild one wheels, are there any re-re tires that fit it OR are there re-re wheels and tires from some of the other models that fit the Fox. I know there are ways to get modern wheel/tire combos on the Fox, but I want the vintage scale look of the smaller tires (not the new 2.2s). Again, thanks for the help.

You can search the showrooms using Fox, but not the forums.

That would search for Tamiya or Fox which brings up hundreds of threads with Tamiya in them, but nothing on the Fox.

How do you all search for the Fox on the forums? It's a three letter word, so the search never picks it up. You can search for the Falcon, HotShot, etc. - but not the Fox :-(.

I think you are underestimating how much broad appeal Kyosho had. Tower Hobbies was the dominant mail-order store and their catalog was everwhere. Many of us went to bed dreaming about the Optimas and Ultimas in its pages. Also, my first car was an Optima and I had two good friends that got Kyoshos (Ultima and an Assault). We never raced, just bashed. Yes, Tamiya was everywhere and we bashed with Foxes and Hornets. My Optima was bought used. Lots of racers raced their car for one or two seasons and then put it up for sale at the hobby shop. A used Kyosho was cheaper than a new Tamiya. I'll admit that we may have been in over our heads with maintenance (argh, the chain on the Optima ;-), but I remember a lot of Kyoshos out there.

Does the Lazer ZX5 body fit the Lazer ZX5 SP? I don't believe it does, which is too bad. I much prefer the more vintage (Optima-like) look of the original ZX5 body.

That body is only $16, good deal. It would make a nice Ultima runner body. Will it fit the original - your base is a Pro XL, right. Take care, RG

I really like the looks of this car. It looks both modern and vintage - great job!! It wouldn't be fair to race it in a vintage meet though. The shocks looks the best - flashback to the old Turbo Ultima platinum ones.

I like the wheels/tires. So many modern ones look huge and out of place on the vintage buggies, these blend in well and look tough. I do agree with the need for more decals.
