I totally agree with you Theo ! [] They will only sell their cheap produced "Carson" ****. Those people don´t understand the philosophy of a Tamiya model. Even in static kits.[!] I hope there will be better days for Tamiya in the future here in Germany without this "Dickie/Carson" ****. quote: Originally posted by DJTheo Sorry guys, but you don't really know the Dickie group, they don't really give a **** about customers or dealer, its all about the money, as you can also see by the Tamiya name explotation they do with their "Tamiya Exclusive Line" Carson ****. That re-releases were limited might be true for the XR312 and the 49xxx Sixwheeler, F312 etc but not for the current 58xxx numbered ones. Also those kits are sold in hunderds in Asia, uK and uSA, how can they say they are limited. Also then they shouldn't sell other limited tourers, which they do with no problem. Imho they are only afraid of Tamiya being called primitive and toyish, cause they don't understand that thats what Tamiya is all about, I hope they will stay with their silly tourers and Carsons till most Germans buy abroad and they go bankrupt! Cheers id="quote">id="quote">

Many Thanks for the care about me. You are all a real family. I apologize to all the guys who mailed me in the last month and didn´t got an answer. I had a case of death in my family. One of my brothers died by an motorcycle accident. [] It was so hard for me, i couldn´t take a hand on a Tamiya model or a look on the TC-Site. Again, sorry to all who contacted me in this time. But I am back again now and open to all requests and answers like before. By the way, I don´t live in Pfaffenhofen. I live in Kaisheim, near Donauwörth. quote:Originally posted by supergregOne of my german mates suddenly diappeared from TC! The last sign of life was when adding the beautiful chromed Hornet and the red wheeled Grasshopper in first half of may (to name just a few). He was one of the guys who was ALWAYS online, when I logged on to TC and now he just disappeared for months?? Seem a little long for vacation. Technical.Burp and me already tried to reach him by mail or phone several times but with no success. Link to Dunebuggys showroom: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/member.asp?id=573 Joachim, If you read this, please show us you're still alive!!! We are concerned about you. id="quote">id="quote">

New 540 motor on to Grasshopper 1
dunebuggy71 replied to karlfrancis's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
The spur gear on a Grasshopper isn´t the same as on a TA02. Have a look at the "Grasshopper 1" manual on page 14. The 540 motor is mounted directly to the Gearbox with two 3x27mm screws. You only need the 18 tooth pinion gear now. As DJTheo said. Modul 0.8 ! Tamiya part number for the pinion is now 50192 called Subaru Brat pinion gear set. -

dunebuggy71 replied to karlfrancis's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Karlfrancis, You don´t need the plasctic mount for the 540 motor.[] It´s only for use with the original small 380 Motor. Install the 540 Motor directly to the gearbox with the 18 tooth pinion. It´s shown in the Grasshopper manual on page 14.[] -

It´s an 18 T pinion gear ![] -
The area doesn´t look bad. I agree with technical.burp. A bit rough. But maybe we could make a track with a plan surface ourself ? If it´s sand, it could be done.

I think the german distributor will not import the Hornet kit. I mailed to "Dickie-Tamiya" several weeks ago. They replied: "We don´t know anything about this kit.[!] It´s the same with the M04M Mazda Eunos roadster and Wild Willy 2 metallic spezial. No comment from them. If they think, they will not sell enough Hornets ? [8)] Dickie Tamiya is one of the badest distributors here in Europe! A nightmare for any serious Tamiya collector.

Super Champ would be cool ! [8D] Also Frog decals, because Frog repro bodies are easy available through "kamtec" but original decals are priced very high.[8)]

Falcon Paint Scheme from old guidebook
dunebuggy71 replied to BeetleLover's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Hi BeetleLover ! Just found an old Tamiya leaflet which shows the guy with the "white and blue" Falcon. [] I made a scan. http://www.tcphotos.com/getuserimage.asp?t...004153515_3.jpg Joachim -
Are these Duratrax shocks of good quality ? Thinking about to get some for my Scorpion runner. I think the center of the wheels would look great in gold. Do it ! [] Another question. Is the rear cage self made or an old Hop up part ? I want one !
-
Very nice Scorpion.[^] I am big fan of this car too.[] Do you use Kyosho gold shocks, or are these Dura Trax ? And are the front shock mounts selfmade ? Joachim

Whats the big deal about buying from Hong Kong???
dunebuggy71 replied to Lordcroker's topic in General discussions
I totally agree with you Theo ! Not more to say [^] quote: Originally posted by DJTheo Luckily due to the fact that Germans are very price conscious, guess many German online or eBay sellers realized their loss from people buying from Asia or USA, so they have reduced their prices alot, for example TT01s for 100EU, XB Pros for 140EU or Losi Mini T for 125EU and Asso RC18T for 160EU, so similar to the prices of HK + shipping, making me now buy very often from them, without the risk of custom charges and losses (btw a good alternative to other EU buyers as there is no customs and taxes []) Still see though that many other EU countries are sleeping, like my 2nd home country, or UK and NL and if they soon don't wake up, it will be very late [], people like supporting their own country, but not making local distributors and shops rich by paying double or more price, there is somewhere a limit, for me I guess around 30%, btw, what's your personal limit? And please don't start talking about life standards as above mentioned EU countries have similar ones and USA which is dead cheap[8D], isn't really a poor country [] Cheers id="quote">id="quote"> -

dunebuggy71 replied to rroodd's topic in Re-Release Discussions
A Hornet race would be fantastic Theo ! [] I have also bought a NIB Midnight Pumpkin, a few weeks ago. [] A Pumpkin - Lunchbox race would be great too. Will also bring my old Grasshopper back on the track !![8D] Can´t wait for the next meeting ! -
Christmas : What vintage are you getting?
dunebuggy71 replied to Gixer Jay's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
This year a NIB Hornet (re-release 58336) is under the tree.[] Couldn´t resist to order one. This year Christmas has an 80´s touch ![] I think, not only for me ! -
Nitro fuel works excellent ! [] I used it several times on Lexan bodies and all came out perfect and clear.

This is the original Tamiya Hop-Up suspension kit for the Hot Shot. [] Tamiya Super Shot had this suspension fitted as standard. You can also use the kit on the Tamiya Boomerang. []

TC winter drive on ice and/or snow in Germany?
dunebuggy71 replied to technical.burP's topic in Meetings & Events
Ice Racing ! [] Sorry, I am a little bit late here. Just saw this thread. I like the idea very much. I will look for a area near me. A nice smaller lake would be the right place to do this. -
NIB Hornet Rerelease - $100. out in december :)

Jason, Do you know if the Mini Monte Carlo is based on the old M01 chassis, or is it the actual M03 ? -
NIB Hornet Rerelease - $100. out in december :)
dunebuggy71 replied to rroodd's topic in Re-Release Discussions
I totally agree with you Theo [^][^] At first I am a big Tamiya FAN. And I am also a collector. I also paid a lot of money for my NIB original Hornet. But I paid this price to own the car, because I love it, and not to make money with it. And for me it´s cool to buy now nearly 3 NIB Hornets, for the price i paid for the original NIB. There was a time, you couldn´t get a Hornet bodyset under 90 $ US Dollars on the bay. This is history now. And it´s good so. It´s also a chance to bring the classic Tamiya cars nearer to the "NEW" RC-Car enthusiasts around the world. Or tell me, which car looks better: Fighter Buggy or Hornet ? I am proud of Tamiya remembering their own classics ! -

[:0] Oh my god ! Sometimes dreams come true ! Can´t wait to bring my old (or now new !) friend back on the track. The Hornet is one of the sharpest looking buggies, Tamiya ever made ! []
