Looking for a brush guard for a Pickup / Blazing Blazer, and tires for the BB. Could also use a rear bumper in great condition. Thanks

Finished up my Stadium Blitzer mechanically.

Did a simple refresh of an old Falcon. This car is 90%+ pure, so not much work.

I know it is a heck of a long shot, but I am looking for a 4X-400 4wd MIP conversion kit, or as many pieces as you may have. I also have some other parts on my MIP SRB that are good enough for use, but I could use better if you have some spares. Thanks

I picked up a bunch of these the last time I needed to clean out the hobby room. They were from Big Lots, and I bought up all they had one weekend, and they were beige, and then went to get more the next weekend, and they were blue. Seems to be great size for 1/10 buggies and onroads, plus extra parts.

Introduced the comical to the rest of the FX-10 family. This is a tense moment.............

Finishing up my Comical FX-10. I am having difficulty with the body at this point, but am working through it slowly. I am recycling an old body in an effort to keep this a $0 build. Hope to get it all worked out in the next few days, or it will be thrown on the shelf and never really done.

Mocked up my Comical FX-10.

Finished up my hump pack for my Hilux. Running 3000mah NIMH.

Not sure what type of stealth mounts you are looking to do, but I use RJ Speed body posts on most of my older cars. They make 4" versions. 4" RJ Speed Posts

Lots more work on the Hilux today. Chassis should be finished up pretty quick. Body is a whole 'nother project in itself! Yes, I know the steering linkage / horn is opposite of the manual, but it was the way that worked best for me.

Got shocks and the bottom half of the electronics case installed on my Hilux. I know the painted case may ******* off the purists, but the top half of mine is covered in cracks (and has a melted spot), and a new one isn't in the budget. So, as the old saying goes, paint it black and put it back.

Updated list of needs in first post.

Got a bit done on my Hilux this weekend. Got the tranny mounted, purdy'd up the wheels, refreshed and rewired the SC, built a mount for the SC b/c I don't have an original, and printed my first version of a motor cover b/c again, I don't have an original.

This is just a generic kit from 3D Sets It is a loose version of a later 90. They have a couple of options in regards to the top; ie pickup or removable hardtop. The kit has a bit of a following, and there are lots of individuals out there that have stls available to convert it to a more accurate S2/3 88. It is a neat kit as 80-90% of the vehicle is printed, including the transmission (gear or belt driven), axles, and wheels. The only non-printed parts are the electronics, fasteners, bearings, tires, glass, belts (if used), and shocks. My build of this so far can be found here: RC10talk.com

Hilux / Blazing Blazer Transmission Rebuild
morrisey0 replied to morrisey0's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Thanks for all the help guys! I replaced all the bushings except for the two on the pressed shaft, and I haven't put power on it yet, but everything feels smooth through all three "gears." I used bar and chain oil on everything; it just seemed like the right viscosity to go with. Although I am not building this to be a show queen, it will probably spend most of its life on the shelf, so I am thinking I may not even seal it up. If I do, it will certainly look better than every single one I have seen done originally. Did people buy these things and get their kids to seal up the trannys? -
Finally got the axles and wheels under my 3DSets Landy.

After way too many years of sitting around looking pitiful, I finally put some real time in my Hilux.

Hilux / Blazing Blazer Transmission Rebuild

Thanks! Found an article for a Bruiser 3speed rebuild. Should be close enough I hope. Bruiser Transmission Rebuild -
I thought for sure there would be loads of info out there on how to put one of these things back together, but for the life of me, I can't find anything. I got a pile of parts and no clue how to put it all together. Any links? Thanks!

Probably a simple question, but was the transistorized speed controller ever available on anything other than the 58028 Pickup? I would have thought it would have been on the Blazing Blazer, but that seems to have gotten a more standard disc-type MSC. Were there other vehicles of the era that received this SC? I am in the market for one, and am looking to see if there are other vehicles I can be using as a search query. Thanks

Updated: Now looking for a rear light / plate bar, an electronics box (cover mainly), and a single headlight bucket / lens. I am printing out some servo saver parts, but if you have any sitting around that you don't need, I would be interested. Thanks

Thanks for the reply! Weird that the clone's maker's went through the trouble to separate the rear louvers when Tamiya did not. I remember reading about the poly body when I did my other clone. Cleaning wise it is probably not going to see more than Dawn. For painting, I just sanded, Tamiya Primer + Tamiya TS Paint, and didn't have any real adhesion issues. The current plan is to do the same with the black body. Although I may clear and do some finish sanding / polishing on it.
