Need To Auction Off Something, But Sick Of Ebay? Come On In
Gamester posted a topic in Related sites
Hey guys, Just in case anyone feels like auctioning anything off, and are as sick of eBay as I am, I just put up a new RC car website called www.RCBin.com this weekend. It is a RC hobby only auction site and also has community forums. I would really be interested in seeing your guys's RC collection if you care to post up your pics in the "Show & Shine" community forum. I just posted pics and details of my entire RC collection of 17 vehicles there if anyone cares to take a look. My username name on there is MountyMan: http://www.rcbin.com/community I got a set of Bruiser wheels and tires up right now for auction. Good chance to pick them up for cheap if you need them. Just thought some of you might like to hear about a site like this Thanks, Gamester -

Putty/filler For Hard Plastic Bodies?
Gamester replied to Gamester's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Cool, thanks! Any idea where you can get Revell Plasto in the united states? I searched for it online and can only find it from international retailers. Thanks a bunch, Gamester -
Hello, I was just wondering what is the best thing to use for body putty/filler for hard plastic bodies? I have some holes I need to fill on a hard plastic body. Thanks, Gamester

Awesome, thanks a bunch man! Thanks again, Jason

Ok, that would be great if you could confirm that for me because it kind of looks like there is a little orange in that red. It kind of looks like the Italian Red Tamiya paint. Thanks for letting me know that black line is a sticker. Good thing because that would be difficult to paint Thanks again, Jason

Hello, I don't have the manual to the Prerunner to find this out, but I was just wondering what shade of red should be used on the rear bed sides on the truck? Also, I noticed that there is a black line that goes all the way across the bottom of the body. Is this a sticker or is it a painted line? Tamiya Reference photo: Thanks, Jason

That would be great Steve, Thanks a bunch for taking the time to look for them. He would be greatly appreciative of that. Let me know what you find. Thanks. Thanks again, Gamester

Hey guys, My brother has a Hilux that is very close to being complete and running. However, the only parts he is missing is the steering rods, steering arm, and the hardware to assemble it. I know it is probably a long shot, but does anyone have any of theses pieces lying around that they wouldn’t mind selling? He has been desperately searching for these pieces, eBay, trade room, etc., for quite some time now without any luck. If anybody has these parts that they would like to sell it would be greatly appreciated. He is dieing to be able to drive his hilux, as would we all. Here is a pic of what he needs... Thanks a bunch, Gamester

Has anyone ever used this high gloss clear coat?... http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti00...LXHE54&P=ML This one is Testor's brand, I didn't see any high gloss clear coat from Tamiya. I wonder if this Testor's brand would be compatable with the Tamiya TS paints? Thanks again, Gamester -

One more thing has come to mind. How many coats of primer, paint, and clear coat do most of you put on your hard bodies? Thanks again, Gamester -

You said it InetRC, TC is the most helpful forum community that I have ever come across. I have only been a TC member for a few weeks and have already learned more then I would have learned in 3 years by myself. After I get all of the supplies I need to start this project I will post my progress and if I come up with any good ways to do a certain task along the way, I will post them as well. I am working on a different project at the moment, but I hope I will be able to start my Mountaineer project soon. Thanks again everyone for all your great information so far, Gamester -

It looks like you really know what you’re doing there. Thanks again for taking the time to type all of that great information just to help me out. Thanks again, Gamester -

Thanks again DJTheo, you are just filled with knowledge [] I will do that sanding method on the truck bed. Looks like I will be useing a grey Tamiya primer. I found a light grey primer, but I couldn't find a regular grey Tamiya primer. Would this one be ok? ... http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti00...=LXFSH3&P=7 Thanks again DJTheo, Gamester -
What is The Best Paint and Painting Method to Use?
Gamester replied to Gamester's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Ah, thanks once again for the info DJTheo. The bed of the body has red paint on it already that I'll have to strip off. I've heard that EZ-off oven cleaner works the best for this. So, I'll probably have to lightly sand it after the paint removal. What grit of sand paper do you suggest? The cab, however, has never been painted. So I guess I'll just primer that it. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> What kind of primer do you suggest? Tamiya makes a bunch of different primers, which one would be best for black? Thanks again, Gamester -

Ah, thanks for that additional information DJTheo. That is good to know.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> A couple more things come to mind. Do you need to sand the body at all before painting? Also, after you have painted the body, should I use any kind of clear coat? If so, do I put it on over the decals or not? Thanks again everyone, Gamester -

O' yea, forgot to ask, is TS-14 a gloss black or not. I'm looking for a glossy black TS spray paint and I'm not sure if this is it or not. I also saw that TS-29 was a black, but it is a semi-gloss and I don't think that is what I want. I also saw TS-40 which is a metallic black, but I don't know if that is glossy or not either. I think I am a little confused, lol, guess I need some clarification here. Thanks again for the help.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Thanks again everyone, Gamester -

Wow, Sharpie paint pens. I guess I just never thought to search for anything like that. That does look great on your Lamborghini and it really brings out the detail in the emblems. I see they have metallic silver too and about any other color one could imagine. I’ll definitely have to get some of those. Thanks for the great tip Dephcon5. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Thanks again, Gamester -

Holy cow, Thanks for all the great replies guys! I see the community here at Tamiya Club is as strong as it has ever been, a very helpful community indeed.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Well it looks like the majority of you are using Tamiya TS paint or some other brands of paint made specifically for RC bodies. I’m glad I didn’t decide to use my Plasti-Kote paint as I do not want too cover up any details that will be later painted separately. Which brings up another paint issue. What is everyone’s position on paint pens for small details such as emblems, side markers, and trim? Has anyone ever used anything like these perhaps?... http://www.a2zhobbies.com/Testors/Markers/ Thanks again everyone, Gamester
