  1. The screw sizes are pretty straight forward, plus there are more than you need. The longest ones are used for mounting the dampers, and the rest are pretty easy work out the size you need. if you have the 2 speed tranny, you need to mount the motor then the gear change servo plate before you screw the tranny in place. Dont know what wheels you`ve ordered but the landies on my first one go on fine, but the beadlocks i have on this one are a different offset and need to be spaced to stop the tyre rubbing on the steering rod. The new body mounts are still off.The rear ones are ok but the front one is in the wrong place for the pre drilled hole, plus its too low.Thought they got this sorted. The diffs are pre-built dry so the cover needs unscrewing and greasing inside, plus its worth putting threadlock on the fixing screws. Mounting the steering servo wasnt that straight forward.I needed it to go over further to the right than the servo plate would mount,so had to cable tie it in place. I printed off some of the pics on the trail finder page for a guide when i built it to make it a bit easier. They`re just a few pointers as its a pretty straight forward build.
  2. What about this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Tamiya-Rough-Rid...1QQcmdZViewItem or the hard ABS version http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Tamiya-Rough-Rid...1713.m153.l1262 Not a truck but keeping with the SRB bodies
  3. sirandy dready found this site.Might be useful http://www.rc4wdforum.com/index.php
  4. Thought i would give this a bump before its off to ebay
  5. Get em out for the boys then...we wana see!
  6. I didnt bother with the reduction unit, just used the standard 2 speed tranny. I used a Novak goat brushless at first but swapped it for an Integy 35t motor off ebay. They only have 50t and 60t motors. dready tried the 50t and said it was way too slow for him. I have a 55t in my CR-01 and its a bit on the slow side. The 35t in the trail finder is about right for me.Plenty of torque and still has a little speed
  7. Haha! cheers mate!! The problem with the diff was sorted with a single email.I didnt even have to send the part back, they just replaced it. The other problem was that the chassis is made for the high lift bodies but the mounts are way out to fit the Hilux. They`ve sorted that problem as well,so although there were a few teething problems at the start, they do listen and change the parts that are brought to their attention. The internal springs in the white shocks are too stiff,so take them out or go for the dual rate dampers(theyre blue though!) The chassis is that good i`ve ordered another one with 3link suspension this time. I`ts a proper "truck" straight out the box. With the option to change colour of chassis and axles, and options on wheels, tyres, transmission its well worth the money....you get what you want.
  8. It fits if the battery is pushed further back
  9. Will it fit where dready has his,at the front of the chassis rails? The plate is the right shape.Leave it for now until you think of a different way. Are they the left over prop shafts of a CR-01?
  10. Looks ok to me! Better than nothing there as well.
  11. Dont know about the pinion, see if you can find out the kit size and go a bit bigger(i think) Dont swap the Hilux yet,i wana see it ...and yes you can have two, they`re completely different anyway.
  12. Coming down south?I live in Portsmouth I thought you were putting an R2 tranny in there. That build seems like a headache,be worth it though. You bringing the CR01 next Sunday? I wana see how it looks,it looks pretty good in the pics.
  13. The wheels look ok.Might as well do the other three anyway. How low does the transmission housing(swerved the obvious)hang when the body is on? .........and is this gona be ready for next weekend?
  14. There are these if you want to keep the same look and use 12mm hex`s http://rc4wdstore.com/product_info.php?cPa...products_id=488 They have other axles that can use the diff from a high lift but i dont know if they are the exact same width as the older 3 speed
  15. 1.9 and no balloon tyres! Think straight now! Can you mount the leaf springs directly on the axle housing rather than on the blocks,to lower it?
  16. For next time...you only need to score the lexan along the lines. It comes away when you bend it at the score line.Trying to cut through along the lines is too easy to slip(bit late on the last bit but.....)
  17. Dont,it goes to his head! You`re right though ...grrr i feel dirty now!
  18. Its not black anymore Neil....whats it gona be now then?
  19. Meaning you`ve got the correct equipment?
