  1. Dyna Storm and Dyna Blaster. Many parts are already nearly impossible to get - the D parts for example. Cam Am Lola is another. Motor pod and front sub frame are already impossible to get as parts.
  2. Well I think that's possibly the most posts in a short period of time I have seen in recent times. That's alot of work you have done! It's a pity you are not embedding the photos, rather than the links, more people might comment then. You have some skills welding. I wish I could learn to do that. Well done, it's some achievement. I suggest your shock towers might be the next thing that could break at speeds like those discussed. Nice to see a Bigwig getting some attention!
  3. Cheaper and less damaging to cars track barriers. (for carpet) Post up your design ideas ! I'm tired of seeing cars getting torn up or damaged by inappropriate track barriers/dividers. And of the high price of some internationally sold track barrier systems. Together with a plastics business and design company I will be designing and costing a track barrier set. This should consist of as few parts as possible, I expect a straight piece and a corner/end piece. This and the shape(s) should be designed to be simple but effective so the manufacturing cost can be kept low, so it can be sold at prices attractive to clubs everywhere. I invite everyone to contribute ideas. Unlike my Dyna Storm project, this must break even or make a profit. So please bear this in mind with your ideas. My initial thoughts are a low triangle shaped piece with a small wall at the top to prevent cars skipping over too easily.
  4. OPtima mid CS 120 -170 gbp I sold one in Aug last year in near new condition.
  5. Hi 60000RPM, please PM me your email address and I will email Nimrod and include you in the email, this has worked well for the last orders.
  6. Yup - however the Lotus Exige S1 and Porsche 911 look great while the new Nissan GTR is not a beautiful car. But until the new car is revealed any discussion is airyfairy. Thanks for posting up the links and shots tho. Good to keep TRF 2wd hopes up!
  7. If that's really going to be it then I'll be disappointed. Happy to wait till Tamiya surprises us with the the real deal and no guessing is required. On the car in the photos - the huge rear plastic motor guard seems out of place with the rest of the car, rear facing shocks are interesting geared pulley gearbox also interesting Front looks like a straight copy (no surprise but still hope for something more interesting from Tamiya) I looks like a great performer; but it doesn't look great. Sign of the times for Tamiya?
  8. Cheers Twinset. He's gone so quiet! Best wishes Terry.
  9. I saw an advert for sushi at 225Yen only!!!
  10. Have I missed some announcement or anything? Terry doesn't seem to have posted in ages and he was always so active? Hope you're ok mate!
  11. Photos now. Please PM me for photos.
  12. Glad to see you were released. Hows the recovery going, btw?
  13. As above. The small PDS-951 servo new or in good working order. Cash, trade, or donation lol
  14. Cool to see! It's great fun to play with them and feel the differences in different set ups/parts I am sure I have seen some of those parts before I have to say, I do like the paint work. I am seeing alot of blue paint schemes recently that I really like. I might have to try blue something in future! Your front tires look nice and soft. The rears I have not seen before but they look quite good for rain use. My slicks were always useless on wet surfaces, these look like a good potential for that.
  15. LOL I did tell you about the wide front! It's GREAT to see Dyna's being used outside and enjoyed!! Keep it up!! For tarmac my absolute favourite set up is the wide rear and std front. The car slides beeeeeaaaaauuuuutifully on demand and still has steering at speed with proper tires. Leaving a bit of squat in the rear helps alot for traction. I can't comment on your motor issues but I think it gets too mental brushless on tarmac. If I can slide all day long with a brushed motor then you have to use a gentle brushless to continue such fun imo. 10mins sliding on tarmac used to be just the perfect pick me up activity last year I can still hear the noise now! Plus its always very entertaining for passing kids to watch The clutch shaft is still on, just taken a back seat for a few months.
  16. You like giving advice! LOL Perhaps some different tires front and rear. The fronts can show you a world of difference in cornering, and the rears because it's always sad to wear down the original nice tires to nothing, somehow I always think it's nice to have keep some tread left on the original tires a car came with Softer tires from Schumacher ( http://www.racing-cars.com/ ) are good. Enjoy! A black coloured sports tuned Tamiya motor is the nicest motor for the Frog imo, btw.
  17. Rich, I have a comment - WOW! I Like that with a capital L!!! That is HOT! I'd go so far as to say I'd even swop something for it! That is a fantastic looking job. That NEEEEEEEEDS to be raced with the entry form reading "late 80's mod 2wd". I hope it drives great and you get it to shine on track somewhere Thumbs UP!!
  18. Following Hibernaculum's post there is another Kyosho that comes to mind - the original (MK1) Ultima. The metal 'ladder' frame is fantastic to look at and the car was a genuine techno and performing star. First world 2wd champ even. These cars are still great to drive and feel far more "mechanical" to work on as there is so much metal when compared with Tamiya's of the same time. I'd love to also nominate the Gallop MKII which I had as a teenager, but as fantastic as it was to build and look it, it performed terribly. It did look like a bull dog on steroids tho!
  19. I don't remove the casing rings, I just give them long blasts of brake cleaner while they are on a screwdriver shaft. All the gunk comes out. You don't HAVE to oil them after. Obviously if you have good thin oil use it but it's not essential, esp if only going out for a 5min race. 3 years ago I bought the most expensive ABEC 7 rated ceramic bearings for my ultra Dynastorm project. The price was faint inducing. Would I do it again. No way. Normal 5 rated bearings, metal are fine. Go out, enjoy, give a good blast of motor cleaner now and again and throw away dud ones. (edited for typos)
  20. Well it depends on which shell. The VW splitty shell fits the short chassis.
