  1. It would be quite freak if the crystals were the problem. What esc have you got? connect the motor directly to the 7.2v battery and see if it spins. plug steering servo into rx slot 1 plug esc into rx slot 2 if it is the Tamiya black esc it will have a red 2 hole power plug coming out of it, plug that into the remaining slot in the esc. make sure all the plugs have the cable colours running identically, most rx's have the black wire on the outside, red middle, and the other - often white, on the inside. (I do say most brands!) Transmitter shows good battery power? Tx on first, plug 7.2v batt into esc and turn esc on. You should then get responce. if not ??? Hope thats not being too basic, hope it helps
  2. TTC gearbox and new bearings? perhaps different tires? Its a fun model!
  3. Cool, GTodd why so many arms? They don't usu break, and if its for racing a I can happy sell you loads of used but prefect arms for peanuts so you can spend on other things.

  6. phone photo 10 shocks. Stripped, cleaned, seals perfect - new orings installed where they were needed. they work perfectly. Tamiya's best shocks?
  7. By that token terry.sc, would you then say that the black plastic hexs that come with most kits are infact better than the 'hop up' alu hexes with the little screw? That would be a nice cheap 'win'
  8. .....And I'm telling you, Mr Loaded, CEASE and DESIST!! LOL !
  9. It's all cool - this guy from Tamiya is reading this thread and taking note of all the comments!
  10. Fan as I am, they are a bit too gaudy for me. http://www.tamiya.com/japan/info/091120col...ation/index.htm Come'on Tamiya, re re the old backpack again please!!
  11. Hi Redzone, My sister has the body for you. I will PM you here phone number, I am not at the GC at the mo. Which steering bell crank do you need? the one with the servo connecting arm or the other one? I have a repro one of the servo arm side that I will post to you for free if that is the one you need.
  12. If you have a broken or missing DS part, let me know as i have most bits and need to get rid of most things. Except for shocks everything will be under 5euro.
  13. Half metric? That must be fun to build & maintain!
  14. Lack of advertising and friendly invitations to local races? I often think this is a reason so few people race. Shops should have fliers and posters for local racing in the shop window and by the counter. When someone buys a kit shops could also mention local races, even just to encourage people to come and see and maybe pick up interest from there. I know two different country Tamiya official importers who run race series, but are there posters and flyers in their showrooms, have I ever seen shop staff telling customers about up coming races? No. Its just poor marketing. Shame. Racing is fun. I used to regularly race indoors in a large school gymnasium. People used to often come by and visit because the sheer number of cars parked outside made it look like a school fair and passers by used to come in an look. And it was always the flying buggies and mini classes more than any others that kept the spectators hanging around for a good look. Buggies for the crashes and minis for the fun of watching the chase each other and the odd VW bus hassling the little minis or alfa!
  15. Hi CS! Your car looks great! You seem to have most of the parts nimrod have. It's great to see another car with same chassis as mine Do you enjoy running it? Your car will be quite light now. I'm getting rather disappointed reading more posts about slow replies from nimrod. The D5 part should not be breaking. The whole point was to design something better So far the parts that have been reported as breaking have been the bumper part not the d5 part to my knowledge. If nimrod do not replace your part free of charge then I will gladly have a root around and send you one, i think I have 2 in a box somewhere. If you want to PM me your name and email address and I will take it up with nimrod. I am beginning to feel like their customer service desk How are your drive cups holding up to the brushless power?
  16. I've been there, and bought the B4 played with it and sold it. The bearings can be bodged with duct tape or other material. Why do it when you can just use DT02 wheels? Getting B4 spares is easier than Tamiya items. Almost all the online retailer can supply B4 items. The B4 is a better car. I had to admit it. But it was soulless to me. The gearbox is so impressive, the tires well you can mount them on Tamiya ones, the chassis great but boring to look at. Don't pay more than 70euro for a B3! :-)
  17. *PICTS TO COME* 6 x original Dyna storm aerated dampers (The BLUE sleeved lightweight allow ones) 4 x threaded hop up dampers (blue colour. yeah or 3 racing) Multiple matching spring sets, different tensions All excellent condition. Cleaned, dry, and set up with different pistons. 60EURO the lot inclu postage to anywhere. This was my race set. I can't stand emptying, cleaning & refilling shocks at the track when I want to make changes. Hence I carried my own full set of TEN spare shocks, empty but set up with different pistons (1 hole, 2 hole, etc) ready to be filled with the oil of my choice at the track. Makes changing set ups so much easier, faster & cleaner. The inner cylinders, shafts, and sleeves are perfect and have been totally cleaned and are ready for use. The outsides have some markings where the springs rub. Perfect fit to Dyna Storm and also for DF03 or any other buggy infact. Full kits of complete original DS dampers cannot be found anywhere; replacement cylinders (without sleeves) cost 22GBP online for just 2. So grab a BARGAIN while you can.
  18. I'm surprised at you - a moderator here and you still miss the point of the LiFe battery. It was surely developed specifically due to the extra weight the driver has stacked on over the 30 years. More seriously, how much slower do you think the have made the car/gearbox to match his aged, slower, reactions?
  19. The deck in your photo is, imo, the best option. That is called the DS EVO chassis pack. nimrod can do a flat upper deck like the 211 but that is heavier as it requires posts and associated screws to hold it up. Its also harder to access the battery. The upper deck in your photo is my own design and the lower deck a combo of my design and the head of nimrod. The look and work beautifully together. I love looking at it! The full carbon composite tub that I showed plans and photos of earlier in the thread has not yet completed testing due to my work search, but we were still looking for improved material mixes when I put things on hold. The design worked well as envisioned but the material was not yet perfect. Work in progress.
