They listen to the distributors. And when I was at the Eurocup Finals two from T Japan came to have a look at the event. This was years ago.
Is TC still run by Chris or is someone else now? I remember the Gold SS TC car to Japan and feeling that the Tamiya responce was not as interested as some of us hoped. It was a disappointment for me at any rate. Maybe they are more aware and interested in customer interaction these days.
Personally I have more sympathy for dealers/importers than T corporate. Without the local dealers efforts our hobby would be much poorer.

After 13 years what a nice surprise to return to TamiyaClub and see my parts are still being enjoyed and wanted 😊
nice project. I can see if the original CAD files are still around. I sold most of my stuff of to Orgineelrecambered if I remember his forum name correctly? Funny to see where the parts have moved around the world
I kept the ultimate version with all the final evo parts, it is on a shelf at home. I will take photos and post up.

After many years of inactivity, outside of mini racing, I am selling up.
It is time for others to enjoy the icons of our hobby. Please use them at least occasionally. All of these have given so much pleasure to me and to others around the tracks and hobby meets.

I normally try to stay out of threads and discussions that are even remotely controversial -- and it seems any discussion of possible risk from Japanese imported products is one of those -- but the OP has a legitimate question here. Any suggestion that it is not legitimate is unfortunate. As a father of an immune suppressed daughter due to a heart transplant, I can understand the concern. While I agree with those of you who say there is little to no risk, making jokes about the question isn't cool, especially in light of the context of the question as originally asked.I think TC members are, on the whole, great people and we should make Fallguy feel welcome and have some empathy.

On of the guys who races in TC locally works inside nuke power plants, all over the world as a specialist for accidents and maintenance. He and his equipment really go INSIDE. He showed me some of his equipment and explained in detail. Rad is PHYSICAL, ie like sand or dust. It gets WASHED off his equipment before getting outside. So if you are worried, simply wash everything you receive before bringing it near your family/area of concern. Bin the box (who wants a soggy box? lol) and wash everything. Even motors run underwater so unless you are buying a radio or esc there is nothing you could not wash.
I make no comment/judgement whether it's necessary, I'm just saying this is what you can do to mitigate your concern.

I confused but maybe thrilled :
The VW Scirocco is stated as TT and FF03 chassis
but the above photo looks very similar to M-chassis wheels.
I'd like it very much on the M05.

I have seen the Varja in the flesh at the Euro Finals in Switzerland.
It's actually ok and the wheels are not as big as they look in the photos. About King Cab size.
It looks like a Traxxas on the surface/size and I can see the type of buyer they are likely to attract. New to Tamiya and drawn by the big soft sprung go anywhere truck thing. It looked quite reasonable body on. Body off it looks strange to me, knowing the original Avante. However if you don't know, I think it probably looks quite techy for your money. Still don't think it will take Traxxas type big jump abuse tho.

if you have hotmail you probably dont know it but you can use skydrive, photobucket is rubbish for doing this, it happens on all the forums i go to, skydrive is the way forwardThanks - I'd never heard of it before you mentioned it. It's good to know!

That's a very good offer and I appreciate it. It would mean I would have to change all the image link addresses tho, and I've already done that one and it was a pain. I've bitten the bullet and now paid for 1 year pro hosting on pb. Enjoy the photos. It was a cool trip and I recommend racing to everyone. It's fun!

Many times here on TC we have discussed the question of how important is RC to Tamiya's overall business.
The Head of export, oversight of Tamiya USA and one of the overall management team at Tamiya, was at the 2011 Tamiya Euro Finals in Switzerland.
So I decided to ask him.
In terms of importance to the business RC accounts for 45 - 50% of Tamiya.
So there we have it. Much higher than we generally seem to have thought, here on TC.
That's pretty big and gives some insight into perhaps why re-re's have come along. RC is not a niche at all. Its a main part of the business.
It was pretty cool meeting him and talking to him. I mentioned Tamiyaclub!
And you know what the last thing he said to me was?
"Thank you for buying our products."
:lol: I think that is pretty darn cool. Really really nice to hear a company, and one of its worldwide heads, say that to you. - and no, I didn't ask about manuals.

Depends on your definition of cheap. All of the racers who discussed the cells with me thought they were not worth the price at all and viewed them as throw aways after the race.
F1 and GT had Gens Ace lipo's as control cells, and these are the total opposite - outstanding value for money cells.
Yes, control tires all around. Thankfully they were preglued.
I spent many hours in the last 2 days editing all the posts for links to a new photo album but less than 48hrs later there have been 49,000 views of the photos somehow
:o and now that account is frozen too! So I am going to have to pay for the account to go to pro for a year. Has anyone paid photobucket before? I am trying to see what payment method they take but can't find it anywhere.
I can't believe how many photo views there have been. Combined with the 4 day race period that's over 70,000 combined views

Its odd because I can see many things that are not legal here in Japan for TCS.Lipos are the main thing,but some of the "M" chassis bodies are not, along with the Mix of F104W and F104. F104W chassis are not allowed for TCS at all.But its a very good report,thanks for posting it

Yes, few diffs here.
Now about these bad boys
These are the batteries TT Stock, F.Buggy, M-chassis and Gentlemen have to use, and had to buy here.
There has been alot of general unhappiness about these cells (hey, I guess there had to be something ppl would not like!). Why?
- because everyone has lipos
- ppl would prefer to spend their money on lipo cells if they HAVE to spend their money on new batteries
- the cells SEEM old to many and some gave such low voltage and racers complained/tried to swap
Since voltage testing is common in many races it's interesting that this was not done instead here and lipos for all.
The organisers said the cells just needed to be cycled.
And the cells are cheaper than lipos (F1 and GT class) hence fits the lower cost image of the TT, mini, buggy, GM.

Well that was not too useful. There is a fault with timing since the last qual last night and the live timing has been turned off as they dont understand the problem and don't want to risk affecting the back up system today.
I will post up positions on the thread in rctech, have a look there if you are interested in the times.

Quali is almost over now. I will post up the results.
It's cool having an audience here, there are plenty of collective gasps when cars tangle and big OOOHHHHs! when they occasionally fly right out of the track and BANG! into the stadium grandstand wall.

I forgot how much adjustability was added. Too many set up options really. The long arms helped save wild jump angles but otherwise the standard length short arms gave more grip. A heavier servo and softer front suspension were useful.
The air ram definitely made a difference. I remain very fond of that part in particular.
