What parts break all the time on what cars?
CivicSiRacer replied to ideal2k's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Thundershot hubs - connects to the wheels using pins lower control arms lexan cover with driver - rear mount cracked off rear body post mounts Boomerang Definitely the front bumper. I don't know how long I had to drive around with a duct taped bumper -
I'm working on it I'm going to see him next week since I didn't have alot of time this week. His company is Taggart Performance Engineering in Columbia, PA (USA). See my post in the General section. I'm going to see how many parts he can make and for what price.

He means this: I found someone to make these in something other than plastic which cracks.

I have one that is prepainted from when I bought the car back in 1988'ish. It was white/silver, but the white turned to purple. Also has the typical crack on the front clip section, which I fixed on another one with some paper and cement. Email me for pics. Mike

I have a painted body. The white turned purple for some odd reason. And it's cracked in some places. Email me. Mike -

He's located in Columbia, PA (USA) unfortunately for some of you. I haven't been able to get down to his shop lately. I will try for next week though since I'm visiting my family this weekend. The only problem would be he would need a sample to scan into the CNC machine. He told me he can build me custom parts for my race car (a 2000 Honda Civic Si), so these parts shouldn't be a problem. He's shown me other parts he has built for other people. Mike -
I know someone who has a CNC machine that can scan and cut from aluminum almost any part with his machine. He builds race car parts and I thought I would ask him to make me some Thundershot hubs, control arms, and maybe a whole chassis and shock tower mount. How many people would be interested in this? I know he has alot of times on his hands since it's winter. Of course he would need the part of dimensions of it to make the part for you. Let me know. Mike
-
Actually I was going to ask him to also make new control arms, wheels, amd other parts. All he needs is one part to scan into the computer.

Two cracked in half and they fell out of the wheels, another cracked into 3 pieces and fell out. I know someone who does CAD design and custom makes parts for race cars. I'm pretty sure he could do it I could prolly go into a partial business with him.... hrm Thanks for your help guys.
