  1. A few hints in my post here. Some of the rest of the thread may tell you some more too. Have a BZ in mine. Pretty good, definitely adequate for stock racing. Car can handle even more with a few options and a bit of tuning. If you have a BZ in, definitely get a slipper clutch, and use at least 3000mAh cells. Front shock mount a touch vunerable so get spares or a carbon or alloy one. Get 850 ballraces for the steering (need 4). Also get the pinions for a choice of ratios. If you don't want to spend too much that should do. If you really want to splash out get the option shocks and springs and the different shock oils. Makes the car pretty tuneable. From what I've put mine through they're generally pretty tough, so less time repairing and more time enjoying your racing! They're great buggies, far better than I first thought they would be. Trev PS. I forgot. Also look here. Bender's DI website.
  2. Well I did want to really know what it could do, and now I know. Still got to check the gearboxes out but think they're ok. Good job I tightened the rear diff early on though or I'd have burnt it out. Rear end a bit lively. Could do with the option shocks and different oil. Carbon mounts as well. Better fit the slipper clutch too or the gears will go if I keep jumping it like that. A couple of other minor parts and I think it will make a pretty good club racer, better than I first thought. Will definitely handle a quicker motor than a 23 turn super stock. More than good enough for bashing! Go on, get one. You know it makes sense! (Or maybe the Keen Hawk on the same chassis when it comes out). I think next Clumber bash it may be developed a bit, and I'll have got some Loctite! [] Trev
  3. You're welcome! A pity, but didn't stop us having a good time! Maybe I'll bring mine along next time. Works on good old fashioned digital tape! Trev
  4. (now the forum is back up) Great to meet you all. More turned up than I expected and there was some pretty interesting stuff around. With my wonderful memory for names though I've instantly forgotten what you are all called, so I apologise. Hope everyone else enjoyed it, at least those of you that had running cars at the end! Hope the movies turn out and some get posted, especially the Dark Impact meets camera one! Think I might end up buying a ramp. That was the most fun, even if it did also cause the most damage. Most insane thing - brushless with no grip! Silliest thing - Lunchbox. Gotta laugh. Also good to see some people turning up just because they are interested. Might have at least one more convert. Total damage to DI - Bent front shock mount, might be very slightly cracked. Straightened with a hair dryer! Good for spare, carbon one to buy. Lost a body clip. Expensive! Lost the bottom of a front kingpin. Didn't notice until after I got back. Seems hard to get too but I'm sure I'll find one from somewhere. My only gripe is the cost at Clumber nowadays. For the combined price we paid it would probably be possible to hire out a dedicated off road venue like SPARC in Blyth for the day, at least if we could get around 10 confirmed attendees. Might be worth a thought for the future. See you all next time? Trev
  5. 5 day weather forecast for Worksop. It actually says sunny intervals for Sunday! You're probably right about the brolly then. Trev
  6. Just done a steering rate control mod to my transmitter and it still works so I think I'm OK to go now! modelmaniac - if you are going via the A57 from Worksop and going onto the A614 at the junction with the A1, the entrance to Clumber is only 100-200 yards from the roundabout on the right and the transport cafe is directly opposite it on the left. Both are pretty much obscured by trees so just take it a bit easy. If you're coming from Ollerton its (I think) the third Clumber entrance that is signposted that you want, just turn right into the transport cafe car park instead of left into Clumber. Don't worry if you miss it as you can go right round the roundabaout and back. Bit of a busy roundabaout mind. Looking forward to a sausage and egg butty! Trev
  7. Not much to get ready when I've only got the DI and a couple of 3000 sticks. Should be enough for a run though and I'll bring the charger. Hopefully will be at the cafe at 11ish. Trev
  8. Check ebay. Make sure you search worldwide. They turn up every now and then. Full set with wing and stickers. Not sure if they are officially available in the UK yet. Trev
  9. His first sentence said a buggy after the Dark Impact. This is a buggy Tamiya are releassing after the Dark Impact. Nowhere has he said another buggy based on the DF-03 chassis. That may be what he meant, but my answer is correct as far as the question goes and speculation says will be released around November. I do hope that the DF-03 chassis is developed and other buggies released based on it as it is a good club racer, but there is no news on that as far as I know. Trev
  10. This Scroll down a bit for photos. Trev
  11. Exactly! I knew someone still had them. They still available?
  12. Sounds good to me. I'll be in the car park at the cafe at around 11am also, family permitting. Not sure what I'll be in - depends on whats happening before. Either a dark blue S reg Clio, or an 05 reg metallic black Grand Scenic. Bit of a difference I know! Maybe we can print out big tc logos and stick them in the car windows so we can find each other! Trev Packed in the cigs a while ago though []
  13. Devilsome, you just got there before me! Trev
  14. You need to be on the A614 North of Ollerton to get to the main entrance, which is where everyone seems to meet, or at least did previously, so here goes. From Derby take the A38 to Mansfield. The go round Mansfield to take the A6075 to Ollerton. Then turn North onto the A614. Clumber Main entrance is on the left 100-200m before the roundabout joining the A1. For more details especially things like getting round Mansfield I'd suggest the AA route planner at theaa.com. Seems like people meet at the cafe at the entrance and then go down to th bbq area. Is thats whats happening this time? And when are we meeting? 11am? Trev

  16. Hi, only just joined. I'm also hoping to be able to come over. After all it is only about 5 miles away for me! Just started up again after years away so only have a stock Dark Impact and a couple of stick packs but should still be fun [] Trev
