  1. I've only gone and got it! Thanks for your help chaps I really appreciate it
  2. Right I think that makes sense With regards to gears I know for example there are only certain official upgrades to an FF01 - but seen as there are lots of other options with other chassis that fit they are fine to use? after all I'd expect the running gear to be similar on all models
  3. I can't get my head round it and its killing me as I like to think I'm pretty clever at all this malarky! Can someone please explain (in very basic terms lol) how gearing work with RC cars? I just can't figure out the relationships between Spur sets and gear sets and yada yada yada! I just want to know once and for all so I can finish this modified FF01 and start on project TT! Thanks guys.
  4. Think I might have to make room for both methinks!
  5. So you think for all round perfomance I should go for a lower like a 16,17 or something?
  6. My ESC is no limit so thats not a problem - I thought that I had to go for long gearings?
  7. Don't think I'm getting the most out of my FF01! Running 66T Spur Gear and 24T Gear Set at the moment and its nowhere near as quick as I thought it would be - possible beacuse of the limited 24T? I was thinking of slapping in the 71T Spur and going for something like a 28, 29T or even something like 34, 35T! the FF is fully hopped up bar mega carbon bits.. Now the gear sets are actually for other chassis but they look identical to mine - i'm assuming they'll work? Help! lol
  8. I know Nitro cars a potentially quicker out of the box than electric cars (some hpi's do 50 odd mph) but are those kinds of speeds attainable with battery tamiya's? The thought of getting a Nitro does appeal to me but I have batteries at heart! What do you guys think? Say a TA-05 for example is it possible to be hitting 45-50mph with one?
  9. Oh don't get me wrong I do like some of them its just that you don't get the back catologue of shells like you do with Tamiya - some of the 'old skool' shell in particular.
  10. ******z! Its always worth a try I guess - I have noticed some tamiya shells look a little 'lost' on their chassis - My clio for example I added spacers to fill out the shell
  11. Ahh right so it all depends on if the shell looks a little lost on its wheels I'm seriously considering getting a HPI RS4 3 Evo+ as my brother sent me a vid of his and I'm jealous.. HPI shells are *******, the Tamiya ones are so much better but obvously most are 190mm - don't want to get one and find that all the shells I want to get don't fit all that well
  12. Can this be done? Well? I want to use my e30 M3 on a hpi 200mm nitro chassis for a while (don't worry I'm not deserting!) Has anyone done something similar? Am I right in thinking the shell will look a little 'small' on the chassis and that the wheels will stick out? Can I get different offset wheels to counter this? Cheers chaps!
  13. noticed too there are mirrors on Morfars.dk site - have you found any more mainstream "boring" mirrors? A few of the old bodys I have don't come with them
