  1. Hi all, in my quest to refurb a well used boomerang i purchased from ebay- i pinging 2 of the gearbox 'c'clips into the universe never to be seen again. so i purchased a re-re parts bag with the larger 'C' clips but they do not fit (?) the gearbox housing will not close properly with them installed so my question is does anyone know where i can pick up some old school original 'c' clips as pictured below?? (ive searched the forum and the ol'google but not coming up with anything) thanks guys
  2. https://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=379924 Egress re re- modelsport are saying 31st may at £450. Id like to see a boomerang re re, just for my own selfish reasons. Or in fact just re-re the bumper! Unless anyone on here has a bumper?
  3. update!....sorted! moves a treet now, still a little slip at full but apparently expected. ive got a dirt tuned in and put a 4300mh batt, and it was flying! I might put an ez run brushless in?? whoever had it before didnt put the SE7 shims in, they could never of had it running correctly, thats why the knobbles on the tires was still good- now they are half gone!
  4. yep moves but slips like mad until full speed, im just putting it back together, i found that it didnt have the SE7 shims in it at all, ive put some small shims I had lying around in and tightened it right up, gonna see how it moves now.............
  5. Hi all, Its been a while but im trying to sort the Monster Racer I found on a skip! http://www.tamiyaclu...showtopic=56809 When I found it I needed to buy drive shafts to get it going. its a good car and my son loves it but it slips like mad. It had a silver can in it and slipped from day 1, I stripped the diff down and cleaned it etc and put ball grease on, put it back together then put a dirt tuned motor in. it still slips like mad, I know that they slip but this seems excessive (even with the silver can in). before I strip it down again can I ask if anyone has any experience with this issue and how they sorted it. I have goggled and had a look around but Im not getting alot back. Im wondering if I havnt tightened something up enough? or I have notice in the instructions it states....14 *differential can be adjusted by using more or less spacers.....(see below) any help would be appreciated, its a good car! thanks dave
  6. Morning! just having a look through a star wars production book I have and spotted some tamiya boxes in the pic, the caption that goes with it reads "peterson and johnson conduct a tour for business folks, behind them are the kits that will be "bashed" for parts" beginings of a star destroyer on the table... My god im a geek! But thought it would be of mild interest to someone....

  14. Afternoon all A few months back I told you story about how in work one day I found a tamiya box in a skip at work on a building site...... Turns out it was this...... A fine skip find, I think you will agree. (the body has had a dog chew it up but it goes a treat,if anyone knows a body going for a toyota monster racer- let me know) I have told this story of good fortune on tamiya club before, some of you will know. But there is more...... After I pulled the hi-lux out the skip, my boss turned up and over a coffee my work mate and he ribbed me for being a skip fairy etc, my boss then says he used to have a model car made by tamiya, I told him to bring it in................. He brought it in today......
  15. it was a bit mental, the truck was seperate from the box, just sat on top, I could see the radio gear box but nothing in it, so I assume the radio gear was in there aswell! but check this out, we had a conversation a couple of hours later when my boss turned up about it (plenty of micky taking,as expected!) turns out he got an old tamiya in his loft that was bought for him around the time his daughter was born (around 22 yrs ago) he describes it as- definately tamiya, looks like a volkswagon beetle beach buggy and he painted it green. he also said it had some sort of gear lever?? hi/lo selector? I have absolutely no knowledge of sandscorchers ,but the gear lever bit? anybody know what hes on about?? im pestering him to bring it in. Can anyone shed some light on the discription?? cheers
  16. Hi all I thought I would put this on here before it goes to ebay tommorrow. Hotshot re-release. This was built and ran once around the garden! has a scratch on the bumper. Comes with tamiya speed controller acoms receiver acoms servo fully ballraced box, instructions and spare parts trees (if you want them) oh and the fog lights (unpainted) I have some more photos and will put them up if anyone wants. £100 no offers, would prefer pick up (im in Bristol uk) as its hard for me to get time for post offices! cash on collection or paypal Edit-postage will be extra! Am I allowed to put my phone number up?? another angle, I didnt take a photo of the underside but there is barely a scratch, if any mark what so ever, forgot to say also that I can post to the uk only and the postage will be around £10 extra ( I have never sent a boxed model before and I assume its around that figure??)
  17. Found this on a building site skip, i was working there! Im assuming one of the builders had a garage clearout and skipped it in work.the body looks well used but the chassis is in really good condition, look at the tyres! it cost me £7 to repair, the slipper clutch thing was slipping like mad in it so i stripped it and tightened, and now runs mint! im gonna put a ezrun brushless in it, I have more fun with this than I do some of my other cars!
  18. cheers troy, rcmart is new to me, will sign up and buy! its handy because I need some bits for my dark impact aswell, appreciate the info, gonna just get the deans micros, see how I get on. Thanks again! Dave
  19. Hi All Before I start I have googled, and searched through forums, but cant seem to find out, seems a bit limited on info out there. Anyways I have got a ezrun motor and a 1500mah batt (nimh) for my gb01 frog tamtech.(unfitted) My first Question is Batt connectors.....Shall I get the "Deans Micro" anyone have these?? Or is there any other I should get?? My second question is shock related, now it is apparent that the shocks need to be oil filled, but I cannot find any on the net (apart from tamiya £80 hop ups) I have noticed that 3racing have done some, but cant find any stock anywhere (am I searching wrong??), and also do gt01 shocks fit a gb01 tamtech?? And if anyone can point me at a good thread or site with ref to tamtechs, that would be cool Any Help much appreciated Cheers Dave
