  1. I have the same radio I one of my
    trucks 40 MHz

As long as the receiver is on
40MHz you can assume the RC is fine and bought from modelsport you hopefully
    won’t have any issues

As for the instruction there based
on Aircraft as most the features of this system aren’t much use on ground stuff
but I find its good for my boats and looks a badword of a lot better than basic
    units (more bling)

  2. If is says airplane use only
(assuming your in the UK) it’s probably on 35 MHz  which wouldn’t stop it working but wouldn’t be
allowed as 35Mhz in the UK is meant for Air vehicles only (could cause some serious
    accidents for model Aircraft users)

You would need 27 MHz or 40 MHz
for land or water based vehicles (UK)

    Frequency’s are different depending
what part of the world your in though

  3. Not sure if it helps but I have
done a fair bit of scratch building for boats over the years and find photos of
the real thing to be the best help as few people know what they should look like
    anyway.

Don’t know if you have seen it but
there was a book out in late 80’s early 90,s I think it was Billards or Bzzars wooden
toys and he had full plans for making a wooden American rig might be worth a look

I also found this website which has
loads of photos of model and real trucks could be worth a look

    http://www.rctruck.it/default.asp

    Hope its of some use
    Jay

  4. Excellent new I was think in place
of buying a few small ESC’s for thing I would be better investing in one high
spec unit that will work for loads

So I’ll probably just get something that has as low a turn limit as I can
    afford I’ve seen the
MTRONIKS SONIK4 SPORT RV MAX ESC and its rated down
to 8 turn so should cope with my stuff and won’t brake the bank

    TXT-1

    Ford
    Aeromax

    F350

    Thanks

  5. So I’m used to the idea of a motor
drawing a current and the speed control needing to able to cope with that
current e.g. model boat using 5a at the motor but speed control being able to
    run up to 15a

So what is with car esc correct me
if I’m wrong but the less turn the controller can cope with basically means the
    more amps it can cope?

So as a bench mark how many turn
    is a normal 540 in say a TT01 chassis

Thanks in advance ( and please be
    gentle) [:$]

  6.

    So basically I’m getting a F350
for Christmas (can’t wait) well I know its here somewhere just well hidden

Anyway I will probably get the MFU
as and when but I would like to see it up and running over the holidays as such
want the get a cheap speed controller for it.

It will never see much use more
just for showing it works so something that does the job is all

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Thanks

  7. Thanks

    for the advice Stefan

    I already

have The Aeromax but just as a static display for now & I have got myself

    the tank trailer for Xmas

The knight hauler I'm looking at

is complete with the MFU and has a futaba 4ex radio and the container trailer so

all in its just about everything in one easy bundle the only real down side is

someone else has already had the fun of building it :-(

    As you

say if I do get it I would need to strip it 1st to check all is well

    And the

bloke is looking for £450 so I think I could get it play with it and sell it in

12 mths and still not lose anything
