  1. He's absolutely a building guy, though he's itching to finally drive one at last ;-) ... of course, I did pack a double set of tires (front & rear) along with the steering servo, receiver and speedo (both Nosram)... I ripped an unused 540 motor from the Blitzer I have, assuming it's a learning model, not speed engine (yet)... So he'll just have to choose his transmitter. As far as re-releases are concerned; we both enjoyed building (again) the Grasshopper, Frog, and Brat Thanks for the kind words; I'm really looking forward giving this present to him...
  2. After having worked for some 47 odd years, my father finally is about to retire end of this month. As he has been the one to have launched me into the RC hobby a long time ago by giving me a Grasshopper when it came out, I though it to be appropriate to do the same and give him his first RC car he'll finally have time to enjoy. That's why I bought him the Tamiya DT-02 MS which to me seems a good way to finally start learning to DRIVE & ENJOY RC cars. He helped me through these many years building, maintaining and especially fixing my cars. He never found nor took the time to actually build one for himself and drive it. What do you guys think of this model? Is it an appropriate car to learn drive & start enjoying racing RC cars? Its looks tell me yes, but you tell me...
  3. So anyone knows of a release date for this superb looking Porsche 911 GT3 Cup VIP 07 - TT01E (#58407)? Thanks!
  4. Overjoyed I was when receiving my package today af Tamiya *bling* hop-ups for my TT01R (super slick tyres, alu motor sink, front & rear stabilizers)... I cheered too soon though... When finally ready to add all the gimmicks I discovered that in order to fix both stabilizers I also needed the Carbon Upper Frame (#53672)! [:'(] So, I've ordered that one just now and will have to wait another fortnight...Great! On top of that, I'm not sure whether the carbon frame will fit with the motor sink attached - just doesn't seem enough space left... Anyone a clue to reassure me? Compnor
  5. I Guess it's too early to speculate on the pricing of this re-re...? Regardless, I wonder already... I have the opportunity to go for either the new TRF501X or the Porsche 934, with the Brat as a bonus. So, which one should I go for (bearing in mind that the Brat is certainly a 'will-buy as a bonus') ? Cheers
