Maplins doing motors with gearboxes...

I had similar problems when i tried to re-subscribe to Tamiyaclub, Paypal would not let me pay by credit card, it said i needed to set up a direct debit with the suggestion that i would then be able to pay by credit card. I went through the direct debit thing two small ammounts were deposited in the account which could then be used to "verify" my account. Sorted? no! still would not let me pay by card and in the end i gave in and[!] paid direct from the bank account. I personally dont find Paypal very user friendly but i am sure its just a case of me missing something[:I]

Does anyone know where i could find (preferably on-line)an article from volume133 issue3324 page645 of Model engineer magazine? unfortunatly i dont know which year this is but i am guessing late 1950's this issue contains the construction of the chassis for a "petrol engined land rover" could be interesting..............

Ah that will be the problem then!! sorry[:I] I have emailled the details as requested Thanks Chris and sorry for messing you around[:I]

Why are these thing difficult for me[:I][?] I had all sorts of problems with Paypal, they requested me to set up a direct debit, which i something i did not want to do[!], they would not allow me to pay with my credit card, only by direct debit my credit card is now for "backup" in case my bank account refuses to pay? I must say I am a very infrequent user of Paypal, and things have changed since I last used it...... I have now received a couple of emails to say the money has been sent one appears to be from Tamiyaclub acknowledging payment, so as suggested I logged out and back in again and I am still being advised that I am not a member and need to pay my subs.... Any advice[?][?] Spikey

Reversing one servo
spikey replied to TWINSET's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
To reverse a servo you need to swap the servo motor wires, also the wires on the feedback pot (the two which go to either end of the track), this used to be easy, but with modern mass produced servos you may find the motor & pot soldered directly to the pc board Or have a look at http://www.huntersystems.co.uk/acatalog/Signal_Items.html Or http://smservicesuk.co.uk/acatalog/ possibly the same item? different prices though!! -
Have a look at http://www.warco.co.uk they seem to have some nice small mills, if you can find a Myford within your budget then go for that...

I have bought parts from Roger previously, good communication, good price, good delivery, good product... no problem....[] The story this time is somewhat different[8)] I had been admiring his products on this website for some time, I decided to put together a order, we exchanged several emails everything seemed fine, I sent payment by bank transfer, Roger promised delivery of my order for week50 (2003) since then I have heard nothing...............[V][!]

First I must apologise for posting to my own topic.... sorry[:I] But the story as it stands now is that I have sent an amount of money to Roger Fratzscher trading under the name of Bauteil 1 I sent money in November 2003 and to date I have received no goods and no contact whatsoever. I have emailed him 100+ times chasing my goods and so far he has not had the courtesy to reply. I have now sent a email "send me the goods or my money back" I know this chap is still trading, his website has been updated and he is offering stuff on German ebay, there are even recent pictures of him on the net in recent German trial competitions. I don't enjoy slagging people off but if you are considering buying something from this bloke beware............. Martin

Have a look at http://www.mini-lathe.com/ this lathe is the same as supplied by Machine Mart in the UK. Also http://www.proxxon.de Martin
-
Does anyone know what has happened to Roger Fratzscher[?] I sent payment for goods back in November 2003 with the promise he would deliver my stuff before Christmas[] Here we are in June 2004 and i still have not received anything[]. This guy has not responded to any of my emails, faxes or letters[!] Now there may be a genuine reason for his non-delivery[8)]

These power poles look good! unfortunatly i dont have a farnell account, could someone check out the following RS part numbers and advise if they are the same product? 534-963 30A contact 534-979 black housing 534-985 red housing thanks

I too have one of these, a good toy with all those working features, but transmission is very noisy indeed. I have looked at putting the shell on a XC chassis but it does not look an easy job, it will be interesting to see who gets one to fit first[] Martin
-
i would suggest buying the biggest lathe you can (upto Myford ML7) size[] You can do small jobs on a big lathe but you cant do big jobs in on small one[8)] Martin

New search features are great! well done[^] I have just updated my showroom making my cars easier to find[]

Hi Have a look at http://www.mfacomodrills.com here you will find lots of different motor/gearbox combinations that could be used as the basis for a winch, or how about adapting a model yacht winch? Martin
