  1. Two things spring instantly to mind. 1) The decals are only sticky on the back as they are intended for outside use. So you'd probably have to glue them on, which would make adjustments all-but impossible. 2) Many cars have decals that overlap, hence the numbering system. So you'd also have to work backwards. VB
  2. I also use the Edding 780. Very good. VB
  3. Phew. I was starting to worry. It went down about lunchtime. Forums huh [:S]
  4. Is it fair to assume this is a "subscriber only" comp too? Rather than current members only?
  5. How is this in the wrong area? He's asking for a trade for a High-Lift. Seems like the "trade and sales" area is ideal for this purpose. VB
  6. Great comp. Can't afford to subscribe yet, so, erm, 39 is my guess. Just so in a months time I'll know what I thought and can gnash my teeth if I was right lol VB
  7. I'm convinced with the above theory that it's "if I can't, no-one can". How else do you explain this ? Grrr!
  8. I think he wants someone to recommend a non TL01 chassis that would make a good scale basher. VB
  9. Thanks I know it's not super-impressive compared to most of the models here, but for a first ever box-to-car build I was chuffed enough. And it goes like fertilizer off an earth-moving implement.
  10. Well, it wasn't quite boxart. I wanted to keep the side logo straight, but that meant putting the drivers name on the window. I've also left the rear longer than they recommend to trim, but my way it matches the rest of the car better. I prefer it anyway. A couple of the spare Tamiya stickers cut out and put on the roof, sunscreen and chin-spoiler and it looks ok. A couple are a little wonky, but for a first effort... VB
  11. I stayed up. Tough rooting for anyone who isn't in Stripes (GO Bengals!), but always root for the AFC team. The game blew though. It was Pop Warner stuff. VB
  12. *puts on flameproof overalls* I hate it. It's so **** generic. No wing-slogan. No driver. No innovation. Nothing to differentiate it from the hoard of other cars. The Avante to me always meant a space-age look. Huge innovation (albeit flawed), and some semblance of realism. It's a weak cookie-cutter effort and a shame to the Avante name.
  13. It's brand new, not second hand, never wet. I took all the electrics out and re-routed them for the umpteenth time and, whilst I never count my chickens, it appears to be fine now. I'm really not sure what was the problem. I hate problems that aren't obvious and solutions that don't seem to have changed anything. Many thanks for all your help, and I will bear all your tips in mind should the problem re-appear. It's parked up awaiting decals today. VB
  14. I left it to dry for four hours in the end (three thinish coats) and they came off really well. And my headache has almost gone. **** this cold weather making me paint indoors lol.
