well i think it is cool as it is soooooo simple an idea, wish we all had a nice machine shop to work in when we felt like it. but nice going andy[] -
i am selling my friends king tiger tank, it is rtr minus the batteries. He has painted it to a profesional standard. It is the full option version so it has all the usual things on it. It is in very good condition. Also i am selling my friends leopard tank. this is the older version and is still in very good contion. It has no radio installed or batteries. It is however a very fine example of these models. the king tiger is £350 but he will take a part ex on that and the leopard is £200.

Tamiyaclub SUMMMER Drive '04 - Poss. Venue?

after reading all of the postings for this thread, i have made enquireis at a local airfield. The good thing about this site is that after a 2 min walk there is a hotel and aftera 5 min drive there is a camp site with al amenities. They have a tarmac area for on road and the grass area is quite rough which would suit of roaders. Just over the road from the airfiled is a local asda and a local pub, but the best thing is on site there are toilets and a place to get something to eat, all of these things are open during the day. They have no problem with nitro or battery, also no prob with trading. when i know more i will post it on here. Oh 1 last thing the airfield is 5 min from a major motorway. the only downfall is it is in kent which makes it a long drive for some members. -
my aero is running standard, it was mine that lost the box when my friend was driving it[]. mind you it was his box so i dont mind.

well rich looks like we might have ourselfs a convoy, also i am still tryin to organise the truck meet down my neck of the woods
-
well is there going to be a class for the 1/14 trucks to trundle around in, as i dont have any on road cars. [] Cos i have no where to run em here except a local club which demolish new drivers. Or are the tamiya truck owners to scared to run em like that []
-
well biggus i guess i am just going to have to whop ur *** with my aeromx or knight round the track, so bring ur knight for a whopping []
-
i am sorry moosey if you feel as though you have been kicked in the teeth by all that has been said after all your hard work. It was never my intention to make you feel like that. It is just that it will be my first tamiya club meet and i was so looking forward to meeting like minded people who wont ridicule me for my hobby. Unfortunatly i get a great deal of pleasure from trading, which is 1 of the reasons i was coming along. How ever as chris has said if we make sure there is no blatant trading as a shop/market stall with modern kits then hopefully the owners wont get aggitated and throw us all out. So fingers crossed that everyone will be sensible with thier trading so that we dont get any hassle from the owners.

what a great idea paul, with that in mind i think iwill now come again [][]
-
here here rich
-
thats not a bad idea chris, is there a local pub car park we could use. with their permission of course, as we wouldnt want to take trade away from them. []

i have to agree with sonic, as far as i am aware there is nothing wrong with "SWOPPING". to me trading means to sell goods. Now if the items being traded have a differnce in value then this must be made up, but in effect you are still trading as in swopping. Also i would like to say that i agrre with sonic i am not in any way getting at the people who have organised this met as i am well aware this takes a lot of time and effort. So although i will no longer be attending this meet i think a big hand has to be given to those who have made it possible

now why am i not suprised rich, can you rember the weekend [] quote:Originally posted by BiggusDitchus quote:Originally posted by ukstyleWe are a vintage Collectors Club That run and trade parts and cars that are no longer available. This is how most of us got back in to this hobby.Sorry guys but for me running is only 50% of the fun. I wont bother going enjoy your day id="quote">id="quote">Thats a pity but as I see it we can trade at any time of week online here, the weekend is the time when we get a chance to do what we cant do online which is meet other same minded people face to face and put names to faces and get a chance to relive memories by running the cars on track with others.. to see a load of vintage cars on track cant be beaten. Last year i did a bit of trading and buying but spent only about 10% of my time doing it, rest of the time was chatting, racing and err oh yes drinking []. id="quote">id="quote">

sorry but just another point, what is his problem. now i could understand it if he sold like all pre 1990 stuff but i expect like most shops the oldest piece of tamiya he is likely to have will be post 1995. So is he just being a stick in the mud or is it his way of saying he doesnt want tamiya club to meet there in future
-
well i am now very dissapointed as this would have been my first tamiya meet. I was really looking forward to be able to meet the members and do some trading. It would have been great to trade as normally we all have to rely on poeples word and pictures sent over the internet. As we all know people's ideas of perfect and so on vary an awful lot, so it would have been nice to actually see the cars ect. Also on the same point it would cost me around £50 to get there including the ticket, just to run a car or two. I could run a car down my neck of the woods for a month on that money. So this is 1 very upset person who WILL NOT BE ATTENDING THIS MEET.

i am thinking of trying to organise a truck day at my lhs, would all of those people who are interested please let me know as if i dont get enough response i wont do it. my aim is to get as many in 1 place as possible and to get the local rag involved so that our hobby gets shown for what it can be like
-
rite everyone that is interested i will get in touch with maidstone council who runs the park. I will ask them if we have to have permission and also if we can arrange jumps and stuuf to make the day more fun
-
I THINK A MEET IN KENT WOULD BE GREAT. AS WAS MENTIONED THERE ARE SOME GREAT PLACES LIKE MOTE PARK IN MAIDSTONE. iF IT WAS CHOSEN AS A VENUE IT HAS MANY GREAT PLACES TO HAVE A THRASH, AND ALSO THERE IS AMPLE FREE PARKING AND THE NORMAL THINGS LIKE TOILETS AND A CAFE.
