Cheers dude, it was all based off the Egress body set box that I had
-
Ha, anyone else just bought some Egress wheels of Samurai Japan purely because they were so cheap? Hands up, come up, who else?
-
Thanks man, yeah I'm a designer by trade, www.fullyillustrated.com, although I mainly work in the games biz. The RC thing is a side hobby I'm doing a new site like this for my Tomy Intruder resto too. The build starts tonight, but I'll likely not have time to do a site update until early next week.
-
Thanks for the kind words about the site guys! It would be criminal not to keep it updated with all the re-re stuff. Should make for a good read end to end, a vintage resto and a re-re build. There will be no Egress stone unturned

TXT-2 overheating...any ideas?
mheald replied to mheald's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Big update on my original post...this truck now kicks plenty of aaaaaass! Two sport tuned motors with clodbuster 12 tooth pinions, TXT-1 wheels/tires, single TMAXX shocks at the front, double TMAXX shocks at the rear, and an EVX-2 has turned this into a beast. Crappy runtimes. But I fear my 3000mah Nimhs are on their last legs. Killer truck, but I have to say, for the £600+ I've sunk I to this, I could have got a much stronger Traxxas truck for bashing. But hey it's a fun truck none the less. -
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls...I present to you, blog post one about this amazing car! http://tamiyaegress.com/ Full build article coming very soon. I can barely express how excited I am right now!!!

BOOOOOOOM I've got it! Just rang the local depot to see if I could pick it up and I could! Heading home now, pics to follow. Banzai pack REEEEALLY well too, the box is mint! BUZZING!
-
AAAAARGH, you aint kiddin. I just rang the fools, and they say I still need to pay the customs charge...which was paid online yesterday...so now I have to wait for a phone call that I bet will never arrive. Oh man am I miffed. Grrrrrrrrr.
-
God dammit. Parcelfarce aren't going to deliver today, I can feel it. It arrived at the depot last night, but its still showing as 'received at depot' and not 'loaded on van for delivery' grrrrrrrr.
-
Congrats! And they were selling spares too? Lucky man!

All control is lost. As soon as I saw that Tamiya hadn't updated the box art, or should I say, ruined the box art by changing it, I was spent I'm going to stare at my box and pretend that its vintage. BRING ME MY EGRESS!
-
I was originally all 'I'm making this original' but in truth, I've fallen head over heels for this new design and dont intend to change a thing. If parcelforce mess up and don't deliver tomorrow, I'm going to burst. BURST YOU HEAR ME, BURST!
-
Oooh I love those smoked windows Fristajlo!
-
So I got hit with import tax, but not all bad, it was only £20. Arriving tomorrow now, YEY!
-
Still awaiting customs charging doh. Rang Parcelforce and was told that its £33, but the 'charging' needs to be signed off before I can pay...5 hours later, still unable to pay. AAAARRGGHH UK customs. Japan is that efficient it can take an order, pack it, ship it and get it to your country in 2 days flat. Once it hits the UK you hit the snails pace efficiency and have to wait twice that amount of time just pay the blighter's to let you have your parcel. Grrrrrrrrrrr.
-
PHWOOOOOOOOOOOOAR!
-
Well, seen as I've paid £260 including delivery so far, customs charging is going to be at worst, £52 + £15ish handling charge, so if its less than £70 I'll be happy as its then the same price as Fusion's after our discount. I just hate the fact that you can't ring up and pay them now, you HAVE to wait until you get the letter. What century are we in again? A letter for pittys sake! Grrrr, gimme my Egress parcelforce I'm going to call you horrible names.
-
Oh poooooooo. 'Awaiting Customs Charging' Noooooooooooooooooooooo.
-
Hmm from my experience it sits on this for days and days until you receive the dreaded 'letter in the post' asking for the import charges to be paid before they'll release the package. Fingers crossed Banzai 'assisted' me here
-
Parcel Force status.... Awaiting Customs clearance ...uh oh.
-
When mine arrives I'm sticking it on ebay for £1,000,000...wait, no, I'm building it, slapping in my new Speed Passion Brushless set up and shall proceed to bash the living day lights out of it. Whaoooo!
-
Ooooh great find, that body set has me as excited as the Egress! I know it's always looked at as the lesser car, but man, I love the look of the 2001 sooooo much. Stunning design.
-
In fact, I know what's going on. Mr Tamiya has 10,000 in his garage and he's building up this hysteria so that he can pimp each one out on eBay for £1000 a pop
-
You're totally wrong Percymon, they've done this as a limited edition run of 10 as a special treat to die hard fans, if you missed out, you simply weren't hardcore enough EVERYONE BUY ONE AT WHATEVER PRICE BEFORE THEY ARE GONE FOREVER AAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!
-
Ha, haa, well, the extra order at ETamiya was something of a shotgun in the dark attempt at getting even a second one...ordering 3 = getting 1. Time to order 3 more...wait...nobody is accepting orders...bah.
