  1. Congrats man, nice haul! I was going for a 3rd but then dropped out and spent the money on a CR-01 Unimog and a Super Clodbuster from Banzai Man, this forum thread alone must have brought Mr.Tamiya a nice little wad of cash before Christmas this year I think we've successfully gobbled up all the Egress's on planet earth, mwa ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (evil laugh)
  2. My Banzai order was perfect and my Fusion order was rather crushed Needless to say, Banzai box is the stored one with the untouched kit and the Fusion one is on display and the car built
  3. I've got a Clodbuster, Unimog and Nova Fox in my basket right now...hovering over that confirm order button
  4. I got £30 customs fees on my Egress from Banzai, not too shabby.
  5. Such things exist? If so please spill
  6. Yeah I just got the same message...why am I considering a 3rd? What's wrong with me?
  7. Glad you enjoyed it Mark! Agreed all round, it's a stellar build. If you look at Tamiyas vision for the Egress, going right back to the original, you'll see she was always a high rider. I kinda love that look personally, even though it massively impedes performance
  8. Defo no masks.
  9. Great idea on the thin strips, that sounds sounds like a plan! I'm going to go for that. Really looking forward to getting these shells now. Probably not arriving until new year is my guess as I want with EMS Air for the first 2 and EMS Land for the second 2. No rush though, still got about a bazillion other projects to finish lol.
  10. Am I right in saying this is a limited release? I've bought 4 on that principal as I don't want to be paying stupid money for one 6 months from now.
  11. That's something I do as standard...I used to do a lot of scale modelling, so I have prep/painting patience in droves
  12. I've got a new repro one here, I'll test out on that I think, see how I do.
  13. Hmmm, liquid mask, never heard of that, sounds interesting! I can foresee errors with using masking tape based on how many small curves there would be...interesting. Thanks!
  14. Ask yourself this. Q. Would you buy the 2001 if it was re-re'd? A. The answer is yes. Q. Would you rationalise the purchase based on the existence of the bodyshell re-re and the Egress re-re? A. The answer is no. Q. Would fools like us buy more than one? A. The answer is yes. Q. Is it an easy kit for them to re-re? A. BIG TIME yes. Q. Is it easy money for them? A. Yes. Q. Will happen? A. Probably not lol But I wish it would!
  15. Anyone got any window masking techniques they want to share for these? I've yet to attempt painting an Avante shell as its always looked super hard to mask.
  16. Yeah man, fitting the motor is super easy, two screws onto the motor plate, and then two screws onto the gearbox. Nice and easy. Congrats on the 2001 too, they're ace cars!
  17. But the credit card burns just as brightly
  18. Oh and follow up on the tamiya plug worries that a few folks aired earlier. 20 mins of heavy non stop throttle bashing and there was no warmth in the connector whatsoever. In fact, only the esc had any degree of warmth on it and that was only a tiiiiiiny bit warm, nothing that you couldn't rest your finger on. So all in all, this set up is working like a dream for me
  19. Woooooooooah just had 20 mins outside with a set of 2.2 wheels/road tires on - brilliant! I respectfully leathered the pants of it! With this speed passion esc you can adjust the drag braking (new feature to old school me), so I turned that up a bit and man, on slippy tarmac that makes for some great fun with the torque splitter as it was drift central I made my own little imaginary course and blasted round it for a bit. Hands down, the single best 4WD buggy I've ever experienced. This car is fantastic!
  20. I wonder if this is the longest (in page count) running topic for a yet 'fully released' Tamiya car? At 66 pages it must be up near the top!
  21. I get the impression that Modelsport do well enough to not feel the need to run discounts. I've bought a few cars from them in the past, including my RC10, but on the whole I tend to buy mainly parts, tyres etc from them. Nice and friendly bunch though, always willing to help.
  22. Cheers for all the tyre suggestions chaps! Just wish there was something to fit the standard wheels. Feels wrong sticking any other wheels on this beauty.
  23. Sorry dad! I'll be sure to give it an extra blast of full throttle just for you
  24. Does anyone know of any road/tarmac tyres that are hard wearing and will fit the Egress wheels? I know that two full battery runs will decimate these hybrid spikes.
  25. YEY my Fusion order just arrived and came packed with a Tamiya catalogue! Result! Only downer is (and no fault of Fusions as it was very well packed) the box had been dented, bummer. On the plus side, my mint box from Banzai will house this kit and my dented box will be for my built one.
