  1. That wing position was magical, especially when mounted right at the top end, it made the Egress's look really unique. Grr. Bit gutted about that to be honest.
  2. They're IN STOCK at RCMart! http://www.rcmart.com/team-associate-rc10-classic-limited-edition-p-36777.html
  3. I thought that too, but it must be a trick of the eye as they already have these tyres in production.
  4. DOH, just spoke to Modelsport and according to the supplier 'they basically have no idea when its due' lol. Even Modelsport are bemused by this. Apparently they 'could' have their stock by Thursday/Friday, but it could just as easily be next Friday...or the Friday after that. Basically, nobody knows, anything, anywhere in the world. Question is, with TA being new to the RE-RE thing, can Tamiya beat them to market with the Egress...that would make me chuckle if they did.
  5. Being an idiot, I'm starting to see the sense in buying 3. One to keep NIB, one to build as a shelfer and one to bash...just two is now starting to seem wrong...what is wrong with my brain? Somebody help me!
  6. Modelsport says 2nd October
  7. http://tamiyablog.com/ first video, 10:14...oooooh momma!
  8. All I remember is that both the avante and egress were waaaaaay out of my families price range as a kid, but I'm pretty sure the egress cost more than the Avante back in the day. With all that said, you guys are right, if you compare this to the BS, ****, this is a cheap shot from Tamiya. They know FULL well that folks like us will just suck it up and pay whatever they charge as we really, really, want to own one...or two. I'd budgeted £800 for two of these so I'm reeeeeeally hoping I don't need to put more aside.
  9. So, this post inspired me. I got my EVX-2 installed today and boom, BIG improvement. Having two batteries powering this beast sure makes a difference. I just need to take her off road for a bit and do a little crawling (ish) to see if the overheating happens with this new ESC. Cant be bothered stripping her down to put the titans in, she seems fairly zippy with the extra battery power!
  10. I was always the same, but my son was Gravedigger mad and I had £200 to burn. Best £200 spent on RC ever. Its been thrown around the local quarry like a wrecking ball and has never missed a beat. Epic, epic truck and loves deep puddles too
  11. Ha haaa, yeah, its my first ever non Tamiya! I hate to admit it, but its an incredible machine. I bought the 1/10 scale Grave Digger (essentially a Stampede) and by the gods, its one impressive piece of kit. Fast as you could ever want, incredibly strong, waterproof and looks ace. Love it. This conversation has inspired me though, I'm going to get my tools out tonight, rip this beast apart, get the motors fitted, order some new batteries and get her working.
  12. Sorry man, I feel bad for saying all that but you just hit my 'let off steam button' lol. The build is great fun, I loved every second of that as its a magnificent chassis once complete. I think I've just had a run of expensive bad luck. It doesn't help that I bought a £200 Traxxas truck right after it that was ready to go, significantly better all round and has been my truck of choice ever since. I'm betting my opinion will change once I get the motors and ESC in. And again, it maybe just me and some bad luck. If I'd just stuck with the standard pinions, wheels and just lived with the 2 sport tuned motors, I'd have probably loved it...its just the £100's of wasted extras I poured in that have made me go sour
  13. Hey fella, This is obviously just my opinion, but I was monumentally underwhelmed by my TXT-2. Its a wicked looking truck and a joy to build...but once running...I kinda hate the thing to be honest. I've found it really hard work to turn it into a fun machine, its just so **** heavy. I initially had two sport tuned motors with a 100% standard set up out of the box. So far, that was BY FAR the best set up. I then invested in some TXT-1 wheels/tires. The effect on the performance was gutting. It went from zippy and fun(ish) to a complete sluggish blob. So I swapped them back to the ugly standard wheels, but by god does it perform better this way. I then tried putting the TXT-1 wheels back on (as they cost a packet) and stuck in two 9T pinions to improve the take off. It improved it...BUT...I could jog faster than it. It ran like a dog. Now, the ****** was, swapping those pinions was an epic job and I destroyed a few 'thread locked' screws in doing so as you have to pull a fair amount of the chassis apart to do so. I then spent a fortune on a Traxxas EVX-2 and two badass Titans...they've now been sat here for months as I just cannot stomach ripping it all apart again. Oh and the £120 spent on the official shocks was a big waste too, they are possibly the worst shocks I've ever had on a truck. This may ALL be down to me being a numpty, as the truck sure looks sweet and feels ace when you pick it up, but it all went to pot for me once I started running it. I've spent the better part of £500+ on this sucka!
  14. I like the fact that you've got a nice inspiration photo in your workshop too, always good to have the end goal in mind!
  15. Looking lovely! I've got one of these in my restoration queue, so this article is a good kick up the backside! Nice work!
  16. I think this site is breeding a pre-order mentality across the forum, so yeah, I think there's a good chance of a first batch sell out. I personally love pre ordering stuff as it builds SO much more excitement than simply waiting for stock to appear. I'm more excited for my RC10 and Egress than any other cars before and I've never had an ounce of interest in the RC10 before this bloomin site and its pre-order chatter
  17. DAMMIT, I must have dozed off. Looks like I'm off to eBay to pay an inflated price...
  18. Is it November now?
  19. Is it November yet?
  20. Ha haaa, well, terrible business actually, I had these made in 2011 and I'm pretty sure I'm 'just' about to break even now. I was in that place where 'I must complete my restoration, whatever it costs' and getting the BF8/9's custom made was the only option as I'd been hunting for some originals forever and a day.
  21. OOOOOK, all BF8's and BF9's are sold out. They didn't last long! Still awaiting payment from 4 people and if any drop out I'll let you all know that some have become available again.
  22. This is then Egress were talking about. Would the queen go to dinner in a pair of Morrisons knickers? I don't think so. This package will be pure class, pure class I tell you!
  23. Hey guys, update on the BF8/9's 15 sets ordered 10 paid for 5 awaiting payment 3 STILL AVAILABLE If you get your order in before Thursday I'll ensure its mailed out over the weekend. Thanks!
  24. Ok, 12 sets of the 18 available are sold, leaving 6 sets...they're selling scarily fast. If you're after a set of these BF8/9's before they all go (by the morning at this rate) please let me know.
