  1. Im happy to do whatever people want, we need to do it today though, although the venue's Ive got in mind are pretty good, the 1st one is the big car park at the industrial estate in Witney, it has a large expanse of tarmac, gravel sections and grass (which is short) The second is a field opposite the entrance to Burford school on the A40 at Burford, there is a huge expanse of grass with a clump of trees and a slightly hilly bit, well its hilly if you are a 1/10 scale r/c car, there is also a small car park which if I remember correctly is gravel. Both sites will do the job very nicely. I can also bring the ramp if anyone wants to take a really powerfull nitro truck for a test flight. To be honest, I dont think it really matters that much were we go with our toys, as long as we can run them. But, like I said, if any of you feel we should cancel, then we should arrange another day Gordon 07866 973168
  2. Guys, we have a problem, I was informed last night that the Moto-x track will be in use on Sunday 26th because some practise sessions had to be cancelled due to rain, and the council tells them that they can have this Sunday instead. So this means 1 of 2 things for us! 1st, we cancel the meeting altogether 2nd, I try and find another venue, (which will be mostly tarmac based with the odd bits of gravel) I can think of a couple of sites right off the top of my head. Once again Im really sorry lads, but I did only find out last night.when I was at work. let me know your feelings on this. feel free to call me on 07866 973168 cheers Gordon
  3. The 26th sounds perfect to me. The only trouble with having the middle name "Moses" is I just cant get used to that burning bush How are we going to get more people involved in this meeting?
  4. Hey guys. Newcomers are more than welcome, in fact more the merrier. the dates I have in mind are 19/10 26/10 2/11 14/12 21/12 (if you are'nt too tired from watching your Mrs spend all your wages on other people) 28/12 (nice to get away from all the family for a bit) sorry it is so limited, but I have a **** job, soon I will have every Sunday free, you just see. let me know your thoughts I am bringing Losi XXXCR buggy Losi XXX-T truck Tamiya Frog (also still with the mud from last time) Tamiya Wild Willy 2 Tamiya Madbull and a boot full of batteries and spares
  5. yeah we do need to get together again, Ill check out my roster, are Sats and Suns OK with all of you?
  6. I forgot to say its on the 6th of July, which is a Sunday sorry notice is a bit short guys, youll get used to me
  7. Hello all, Im thinking its time for another Oxford bash who is interested?
  8. Hi All, Im glad some of you like the track, however, it is very important that you do NOT visit the track unless its part of an official Oxford bash or I am there with you, Mike and I have permission to use the track, we are also allowed to invite friends along. Im really sorry, but it is not a free for all I really hope this doesn't offend
  9. WOW What a day we had. Me *Top Cat* and Olly Lunchbox and a whole host of other non TC members had an absolutely great day The weather was perfect and so was the company, we all managed to smash something up, if not everything The weather men need a kick up the *** for getting the forecast soooooooo wrong I am definatly going to buy a Lunchbox now, in fact 2, 1 for me and 1 for the Wife Thank you to everyone who came along, I know some of you did some miles. we need to start planning the next one guys cheers Gordon
  10. Oh I hear you!!! However Most real desert trucks dont have a solid rear axle do they? Im sure some of the older ones do, But a break from the norm wouldn't be a bad thing, I think I would quite like a truck with long travel front suspention and a solid rear axle
  11. Well if I said I wasn't concerned about the weather forcast, I would be lying If it is piddling down with rain when you wake up tomorrow morning (Sunday) I would seriously consider not coming to the bash, The forcast says that the weather is going to be pretty bad in the morning through to the early afternoon, after that I think it is going to clear up. please please call me before you leave, if the track is too wet it wont be any fun at all, we do have another venue but it is a car park in an idustrial estate with a gravely part to it, and we do not have permission to use it, however, nobody is likely to give us a hard time if we use it. lets keep our fingers crossed for good weather Gordon 07866 973168
  12. After all the bad things I have said about my local shop, I feel I have to do some back pedeling. I popped in yesterday to have a look about on my way back from somewhere else. I came out with 2x Acoms recievers for 20 4x Acoms AS17 servo's for 9.99 and 2x Mtronix 3700 stick packs for 30 I like to try and wind them up sometime too, so I said I could get the Lunchbox for 65 delivered, (thinking they wouldn't believe me) and they said "sure we'll match it" and any other price I see for any other models, wow. They dont keep many Tamiya spares in granted, but the internet is there for that. I take most of what said back,
  13. If nobody minds me having a say on this! I think the Losi (and I really like Losi) is just another one of their cars with some other stuff bolted on, basicly a XXX-T, and I have a XXX-T its great, really great, however, someone who wants a desert truck surely has to look at the Traxxas, its much more like the real thing. And thats the whole point of the thing. Surely nobody buys the Tamiya F-150 for the performance? they would be very disapointed if they did , they buy them for their stunning looks. anyway, thats my 2p worth Gordon
  14. Oh. and a Madbull
