Well since i won the Unimog in the last competition i've been struggling to decide what colour scheme to go with. After not being able to find any reference photos of local forestry commission mogs, i've decided to paint it in the new PS - 56 Mustard Yellow. This would seem to be easier said than done as i can't find anyone in the UK who stocks it. Why do we have such a poor Tamiya back up/parts support here in Blighty? Don't answer that i know, foreign internet shops, yadda yadda.... Anyway this isn't a rant i just wondered if any of you have found anywhere that stocks PS-56 here in England?

Guess it's not starting today then?

Might be a good idea to change the title of this thread to include USA only

Re-re's You Still Want To See Happen!
Bin ^jammin^ replied to Malakite's topic in General discussions
It would have to be the Wild One for me, never had interest in it the first time around, but since seeing it for the last couple of years i just really like it. -
This comp starts in 2 days and we don't know what it's about yet? Any updates?

I won, i'm amazed, there were so many great photos to choose from. A very big thankyou to everyone that voted for my photo, i'm very chuffed. I'm looking forward to building this kit, and i'll do a review and try to get some good photos of it in action to post up. Thanks everyone And Thanks to RCChamp and Tamiyaclub.com for the great prize in this competition

I've got to agree brushless is the way to go, less maintenance, longer run times and now cheap!! Mod motors are to much hassle and it just doesn't make any sense now.

I know childish, but it made me chuckle

Deans are great, genuine Deans that is, i use a Weller trigger soldering iron and it's perfect as it never gets too hot and is only ever producing the heat when you need it. I find that it's a total doddle to solder them up, but i do prefer to put the wire on the outside on that terminal instead of the inside, just gives a bit of extra gap between the two wires. The performance is much better too!

I think you might have missed the bit where it was stated that it will be released as an ABS hard body

I think you'll find it's a fair bit quicker than that, mine is currently in a custom Thundershot and it's silly fast, i'm running a 15T pinion with it and it works very well. I could go larger with the pinion but it's a buggy and i'm not looking for total top end speed. It may be that those who think this EZrun combo is slow have not got it set up well, i know it's not as fast as the high end Brushless systems but it's definately more like a good 10T/ 11T brushed motor rather than 15T -18T.

Reading Bash 8 - Sunday 12th October!
Bin ^jammin^ replied to Petrolhead's topic in Meetings & Events
Sorry i couldn't make it along guys, i've had a real nasty cold/flu thing, i've even been off work! Glad to hear you had a good bash, i'll make it along to the next one that's for sure, unless i'm jinxed. -
The main weak point would be the standard plastic motor mount, change it for an aluminium one and i expect it would be ok.

Desert.....baron..... you are shunning your RC duties to get out and run your stuff regularly, and i think it has been noticed and noted. Will you be wearing your badge at the next get together? -
Didn't we have a paint scheme comp recently?
-
Not related to the new tracks, but it was nice to meet you at oktoberfest at the weekend quincey. Cheers Ben.

Great prizes, Stella Models really came through for this competition I wonder what kind of competition it will be?
-
Yip you'll definitely get that!!
-
Yeah i use Deans connectors and have found them to be great, not ever had any problem, at all, ever!

Ryan, get the Traxxas Slash, you won't look back it is so much fun to drive and almost indestructible. If you get the Velineon brushless system too from the States delivered for 70 ish quid it's silly quick and as much of a handfull as you could ever want. We all (Chain Driven, Mud Plugger, Munchkin Rebel & myself) bought one and have had sooooo much fun. Best value and fun RC i have ever owned!! Just check out this youtube video
