ta02 chassis for 20 quid posted, well happy

that is a shame, my advice here is dont bother buying a new RX as it could be the TX that is at fault , just go straight to something like this , http://www.ebay.co.u...tem51a3b19efb, my mates use them and they have had no issues at all.
once you have one you can buy replacement rx's for around £6 from hobbyking who also sell the radio systems but are out of stock again ,just goes to show how popular they are , the ansmann ones are not so hot IMO and are just rebadged cheap radios and way over priced ,
my mate has just bought a tx like that, it looks almost identical but its ansmann, he paid £50 for it and was a bit mift when i showed him the flysky for £30 lol
anyway good news is my tx is ok iv just tried it with one of those 6 quid flysky rx's and its fine!! so gonna order a couple of them now

lol that little rear spoiler used to be alot bigger! same width as the roof but roll overs have broken it, im not sure what car it came from.

m03 bearing kit, lunchbox window sprew, 4x 2.4dhz receivers, grasshopper driver and light pods
-
no action pics it's a boring flat carpark over the road from us but did take some video, it's on my friends camera so will upload when he brings the memory card to me!
-
so we had a bash! the pumpkin with the yellow flames was on its maiden bash and sustained a few scratches

the other 2 have seen alot of action in the past 4 years!

right charged batteries fully and still poor range, checked aerial in transmitter looks ok , cant see any thing wrong with receiver but the antenna wire gets very kinked the way its mounted in the madrat, goes down though hole in chassis and then back on its self up the tube so maybe its broken in there i dont know. guess i will have to buy another receiver to find out
i even re binded the rx to tx to rule that out. -
yeah sniper esc and the receiver is one side of the chassis and the esc the other with antenna sticking up the little tube out the body , ansman madrat
-
right next prob with this 2.4ghz! just used it for the 1st time outside and the range is rubbish!! like 10 to 15 meters then the car stops and i have to walk closer? also seem to be having issues with the esc in that it loses speed but when switched off and on again it is then back up to speed?
-
i really dont get the farm king or the wild willie they just look to micky mouse to me and to easy to wheelie i would get bored quickly , i love the lunchbox it wheelies nice but also good for general bashing about.i would like a DF 02 iv always liked the look ofthe rising storm
-
ok confession time!! don't you just love it when u realise you're simple mistakes!
the trim on the throttle was'nt center (was actually round to the stop) and esc was setting itself up for that, when i centered the trim and then switched car on it re calibrated and all is well

cool thanks for the explanations on the BEC
iv been into rc for 25 years but only just moving onto 2.4ghz lol only ever really used tamiya esc's.i opened the transmitter up but and simple as it might be i could'nt bring myself to go further so just gonna live with it and modify the trigger for now untill i buy another unit

-
it could be that the pot in the throttle in the transmitter has moved a little ,when you reach that last little bit when it cuts out the contact wiper may be breaking contact,
a few suggestions ,,the easy/fast solution would be to glue a little bit of rubber or plastic to the trigger to act as an end stop ,
if its still under warranty then you could contact ansmann and get a replacement ,
if you are able and willing you could open up the transmitter and check to see if the pot can be moved back a tiny bit then re-secured ,
hope this helps a bit

yes my friend suggested gluing something on the trigger to stop it going that little bit to far. im tempted to open it up and have a look first.no warrenty as i bought it 2nd hand off the bay

-
the esc and radio came with a car (ansmann madrat) its got the stick motor 21 turn i think, the esc has no set up its fully plug and play, i have only had the car a week or so and have'nt actually run it outside only in the house , being a rtr it was built by monkeys so have been going through it lol
i think this throttle fault has only just started i don't recall it when i first had a go.
it's only the last tiny bit of the trigger then the motor cuts out but as i say if u let off a fraction then it works again and the green light is on on the esc which means its running at full throttle right?
i tried an 101 bk to see if it was the sniper playing up but then the 2.4 wouldnt work with the 101.
im wondering it there is a fault with the trigger inside.
oh the battery used was a core rc 5000mah ni-mh

Hi are the TEU-101BK esc's not compatable with 2.4ghz recievers? i recently bought a ansmann w5 but it wont work with these has anyone else had this prob?
my transmitter also has an issue when u go full throttle it seems to go to far and the motor cuts out, but when u let off slightly the green light comes on on the esc , its like the trigger goes to far like an old msc would if not set up right? the esc im using is a mtronicks sniper rv20 which is plug and play so nothing to set up.
-
yeah i looked there but the page with the -part numbers is in japanese
i think i have it now from another source but they dont seem very easy to come by so going to have to buy something else would these fit? http://www.modelspor...r-products/2315

-
blimey this thread is ten years old!! scary lol
Anyway i was in my mid teens by late 80s having major spinal surgery in 88 and got my first tamiya in about 89 , a grasshopper! it got flattened by a ford sierra lol ******** MSC'S
i have one of those Marui Galaxy's pictured above in my cupboard!
-
well its easy enough to mount the body on an m03 which is probly better anyway, but for a collector it would be a nice edition!
-
**** just seen this, im about an hour away from there so maybe next time hopefully,, and i will have some new batteries by then lol my mate also been nagging me to go to brean beach to run his scorcher! so will bring him along, iv only got a punpkin and madrat i can bash on the sand though

-
ah brilliant the reason i asked was my friend came this evening saying he had seen something in a magazine and would'nt take no for an answer lol i googled but couldnt find anything resembling what he had seen . i recognise pretty much all tamiya's and couldnt recall seeing another kit or car with this body.
i dont know when the magazine is from he is going to borrow it again, i will do a scan on of it
