A big thanks to everyone for the strong support and help!

Thanks guys for all the effort and replies. Almost there but still not 100% convinced this was assembled wrongly. I understand the points raised about mirror-like assembly and the aluminium standoffs (which I assume is the metal part between the plate and the gearbox through which the screw goes) being part of the plate. But if that is the case, then the black plastic gearbox must have been so expertly cut such that the aluminium standoffs fit so snug and flawlessly (see 3rd pic I provided). Don't wish to over do it but I'll keep the request for help open for a while longer. I'm no expert in Kyoshos so all your advice has helped. If nobody comes by with another idea/solution/answer, I'll take it that this was assembled the wrong way around. Thanks again!

I thought so too at first. But I looked closer at the way the metal was assembled or attached to the plastic gearbox and it seemed too nice a fit to be assembled wrongly. Check out this pic (see the parts that links/joins the black plastic gearbox to the metal motor plate).

Thought I pulled out an Ultima rear gear box from my storage box but was surprised to see the pinion gear and plate on the left instead of the right. Does anyone know what buggy does this belong to? Thanks
  6. Found these when clearing up my store room recently and ended up putting it on sale as I'm not into tanks anymore. But trouble is I think these are from my previous vintage 1/16 Gepard RC tank but I'm not sure. Can anyone help confirm my suspicion please? http://good-times.webshots.com/album/578112666AJttEN Thanks very much!

  8. Hi folks, trying my luck here to see if there are any responses. I'm looking to trade my items shown in my webshots album (www.webshots.com/user/violetmind) in return for any of the following: RC wants: - vintage Nikko 1/10 electric buggies like Brat, Super Sprint, Dandy Dash, etc - vintage AYK 1/10 electric buggies like Viper, Bobcat, Boost, etc - vintage Kyosho 1/10 electric buggies like Lazers, Optima Mids, Turbo Scorpions, etc Non-RC wants: - Star Wars Master Replicas 1:1 scale props - Good quality electric bass guitar (4 or 5 string basses by Fodera, Sadowsky, Fender, etc). Let me know if we can work something out. Thanks.
  9. I pulled out a whole bag of old kyosho parts and was sorting through the lot of parts relating to the red kyosho shocks. Problem is, I can't tell which part is for which car (e.g. Ultima, Optima Pro, Javelin, Optima). 1) I managed to sort out 3 main sizes and it's shown in the pics below. Can anyone help id which car each size belongs to and whether it is for the front/rear? 2) Also, I noticed a difference in the base of each shock. Some shocks had a plain metal base while others had a black circle in the center of the shock base (see pic for better clarity of what I'm rambling about). Does anyone know whether the 2 types are from different cars or simply one for the rear and one for the front of any car? 3) Lastly, I happen to have more springs that are black vs silver. Does the colour of springs matter? Are they for different buggies? Any help answering the 3 main questions above would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  10. Thanks for the advice mate. Too bad for me I guess. I'm trying to raise as much cash as I can so if it has to go, it has to go. I'm putting up ALL my RC items (and also vintage star wars) for sale so that I can get the cash for family needs. It's no fun especially when I've taken so much time and effort to hunt all these beauties down and restore them. But family comes first. So I've just put this Salute up on ebay. The response here has been quite low to be frank (even for all my other buggies/trucks). So I'll keep trying here first and then back to ebay if there is no interest. Not a good time for me but surely, I'll get some cash back. I hope.... And to make things worse....my maxxum FF sold for just over USD100. And the buyer hasn't responded yet.....
  11. Is anyone keen on buying this off me? I'm considering putting it up on ebay so that "the best man (or woman) wins" and also I'm not sure what will be the "market price". But balking at the fees. http://good-times.webshots.com/album/577237464bMlsWt Body is original and if you want to know the condition of the buggy, just take a look at the pics available. I took many many photos so serious collectors should take some time to go through it. Happy to answer any questions. I'm located in Singapore. Thanks, Ian www.webshots.com/user/violetmind
