  1. Considering the stunning market values of the Sand Scorcher, it baffles me as to why that one hasn't been released, considering such niche re releases as the torsion bar equipped military buggy whose name is currently escaping me. Surely market value is an indicator of demand that isn't lost on Tamiya.
  2. Well I'm slightly further South, and to the East (NZ)
  3. Very nice save in the Adubbleya! I think that would count as a boat race, not a car race.
  4. Entirely too many vehicles for me, both 1/1 scale, and 1/10 scale. Purchased today, delivered later this week. 2006 Suzuki SJ50, last years model that didn't sell off the lot, so a bit cheaper. Going to be the daily commuter, due to parking becoming very difficult around work. 1992(?) Toyota Starlet, previous daily driver, and weekend autocross warrior. 1988 Toyota MR2 supercharged manual. Saturday sunny day car, and occasional race car. Raced it on Sunday. MR2's are a handful on a wet track ... big third gear powerslides were the order of the day.
  5. I'm a bit new, so excuse me if this is a bit of a dim suggestion ... but perhaps repro bodies that went straight onto a modern chassis, for that classic look combined with easy parts replacement so it could be used hard. eg: Hilux/Mounty Body to suit F350 chassis, Scorcher body to go onto [insert name of currently produced2wd chassis here], Pajero or Wrangler shell for perhaps one of the Stadium truck chassis etc. So you get something with the classic look, but you can hop it up, jump it, race it etc and go replace bits at your local hobby store. I guess a bit like the Brat re-release on the Hopper chassis.
  6. Talking of adjusting the wheelbase, if I want to shorten a CC01 down to XC01 length to suit an XC length body, but want the option to go back and forth between the wheelbases, what driveshaft should I get to suit the vehicle while in XC (short) mode? Bearing in mind getting uncommon parts in NZ is somewhat of a mission.
  7. Thanks for the welcome I actually had a proper look in the box today ... sure enough, the battery, and all the bearing kits were in the box I'm a very happy camper.
  8. Six days from HK to NZ for the Touareg. Now we see how long the bearings and battery takes ... hopefully they've just taken longer to get through customs
  9. I agree entirely. If you can't name a price, then I can't buy it off you.
