    Nitro

If you want a cheap fast road car then the Thunder Tiger TS4n is a very good belt driven car with lots of adjustable bits that's based on the Kyosho V One S series, it's just a lot cheaper and comes RTR. Being Thunder Tiger, replacement bits are cheap as well, which is something a lot of people forget about when buying R/C cars, and there are also loads of upgrades available. If you do go for one then I suggest the TS4n PRO V2 as it has a couple of extra bits on it including the 2 speed and alloy shocks and it doesn't cost that much more than the standard one. If you just want something cheap then I know Hamleys of London (tel:020 7479 7358) are doing the TS2n, the 2 wheel drive version, for £150 with a controller. If you want more info on this car then check out the forum on the american distributor for Thunder Tiger:http://www.acehobby.com/acehobby/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=9 Sorry if I sound like I'm trying to sell you this car but as a proud owner of TS4n Pro I feel it's only right for me to tell you how good it is!

    Alpha 3 Problems

I'm sorry but I've seen plenty of these and have yet to see one with any problems that are the manufacturers fault. I think they're very well built and is also a good value car considering you get metal oil filled shocks, a complete metal chassis, .15 engine as well as a rechargeable glow starter. Over 300 returned in 6 months is a lot of cars to get back so how many have you sold and which model shop is this?
  3. Try and turn over the clutch bell by hand, if the clutch is worn then you find it very hard to do. I know it's stating the obvious but have you checked the brakes to make sure they're set up properly.
  4. When I have these annoying problems I usually give the guys at the Ripmax counter at Hamleys a ring on 020 7479 7358. Ask for Ian and see what he says, he's been working on these things for over 15 years and seems to know everything. Sorry, forgot to add they're open from 10am to 8pm everyday other than Sundays when they only do 12pm to 6pm.
  5. Not to question what you're saying Shodog but I work in retail and when we had the Tyco version for sale it was one of the worst toys we had. We found the only way to get it running was to have one person hold the bike above the ground while the one with the controller gave it full throttle and then you would drop the bike. If we tried it any other way it always seemed to go on its side and most of the time we tried to turn it would end up on its side as well and all you could do was go round and round, as can be seen in a few clips of the movie. We were however testing it on a shiny wooden floor so this could be why we could not get it to stay up. The other thing was we found we got most of the ones we sold back because either the customer could not get it to work or the bike was just completely dead, this could be down to customers destroying the electronics because they did not like it or it could be that it had a genuine fault of some kind. In the end we had to stop selling it as we got fed up with it.
  6. Last time I was at my LHS the only difference I could find was the body, they were both the same price too.
  7. I was in my LHS when I noticed the same thing. When I asked the guy working there he told me that Tamiya do not drill holes in the newer shells anymore because of the racing body mounts you can get for the TA04 and the TRF414. These body mounts apparently are further on the front and so newer shells now have dimples like HPI shells on both the front and the back instead of pre-drilled holes so they can sell more of these shells. If the holes were pre-dilled then those with the racing mounts would have to drill extra holes and it would not look that good as well as weakening the shell.
  8. The Lamborghini Murcielago done by HPI that I recently bought was actually quite good. The only problem with it was that it had no side mirrors. All the other detail was really impressive, it even had the door lines, boot lines, bonnet lines, optional light clusters and rear exhaust, detailed stickers..etc. and all in all very good for the £18.99 that you have to part with. It only comes in 200mm for 1/10 though so fitting it on might be a problem, and that's the only reason I sold it.
  9. You do really get a lot more than just a better motor limit for the £110, or £60 more than the Rooster, that you have to pay. You can use up to 10 cells, there's less resistance, better current for forward, reverse and brake, can handle 2 motors.....for full specs on both the Rooster and Super Rooster just click on the link: http://www.teamnovak.com/products/ESC_Spec...verse_index.htm
  10. I've got the Rooster too and was going to buy the Super Rooster myself until funding this hobby became an issue[]. The Rooster is brilliant for the price but if you can afford the Super Rooster then it's well worth it for the extra benefits you get. By the way Bibbo, the rooster has a 15 turn limit so be careful not to blow it up.[:0]
  11. I just wanted to know if you're suppose to grease parts that are using ball bearings like you would if you were using bushings, for example, the carbon prop shaft and the carbon gear shafts for the TL01. It isn't made clear whether to use grease or not with ball bearings in the instructions so any help would be much appreciated.
  12. See my trade room for the brand new RTR TL01 I have for sale. I only want £120 for it and that includes a fast 30 minute charger for the battery. Here's the link: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/trades_model.asp?cid=3530&id=935
  13. Thanks WillyChang. Now I just have to find the dogbones I've put away some where. Anyone know the differences in the swingshafts? The reason I ask is that it seems if you bought 53506 39mm lightweight swing shafts ,53500 Cross Joints, 2*53499 Wheel Axles and 53505 39mm Front Swing Shafts, you can end up with a full set of universals for the front and rear for a lot less than the cost of 49200 and 49201 universal sets.
  14. Is it possible to use the TA04 universals, 49200 and 49201, with the 50808 TG10 long wheel axles? Also does anyone know if there are any differences between the 53506 39mm lightweight swing shafts and the swing shafts included with the 49201 TA04 rear universal set?
  15. I used the custom colour sapphire fusion colour for the first time and got a white powdery substance on my shell and some white spots after I left it to dry for a few minutes. Has anyone else used this spray and had any problems? Some of the powder I could rub off with a towel after the paint had dried but some of it has dried with the paint. I was applying very light coats as I have never used it before and as the paint comes out clear when spraying, I din't notice the powdery stuff or the white spots until I came back to it after leaving it to dry.
