A Vintage Collection I'd Call 'great'
Martin71RS replied to sandmann's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Hi Olivier, GREAT collection.....!! It has been a while since I visited Tamiyaclub and now see this post in the forums As I read the German article the first thing that popped up in my head was your ebayname..... You have outbid me sometimes on Ebay years ago, and yes, when you bid it was a sign to stop bidding for others I can only admire your collection, it takes dedication to get where you are, my hat's off to you sir! Good luck, Martin -

My 1:1 RSR - Jager or Vaillant? - You decide!!
Martin71RS replied to markmws's topic in General discussions
It has been a while since I've been on the forum, busey with my 1:1 www.pro-touring.nl ...but I was curious how your Porsche turned out. I really, really like it!! It is different, cool and well executed, my hat off to you sir! Martin -
Yes sure, why not...you would only need to change the body to be able to fit all the lights..... (EDIT) probably the ESC part of it will not cope with the two motors....so I guess the answer is..NO

Jagermeister...... -
I used to pack the diffs with thick wheel bearing grease (from 1:1 cars)..... when you fully pack the diff it will work as a limited slip (probably not as "stiff" as your solution) but it will never harden, lubricates and does not leak because of the high viscosity. Martin

The Tamiyaclub Community Model - A Very Special Racing Buggy.
Martin71RS replied to netsmithUK's topic in Tamiyaclub News
Good to see it finally came togther! I just never expected it to be this nice [Y] I think the "build" has been going for over 3 years now? I like the idea of it being at Tamiya HQ, a tribute to Tamiya and to the people who made it possible (well deserved). I too think the TC logo should be on it, no opinion on where exactly. Martin -
So if I would have stand next to you on the flea market when you picked up those bargains and I would have told the seller just before you bought them their value you would have highly appreciated me??[^o)] I think not..... I like to score a good deal, but I do business fair and will give a guy with car trouble a push. I believe I am an honest guy and try to help people where I can so these things are not related in my opinion. for example I sold some stuff last week and gave a price incl. shipping. At the postoffice the shipping was double what I calculated...I made a mistake...so the buyer was lucky, cause a deal is a deal, a mans word is his word. But if I can score a snad scrochet cheap...I will. Martin

Wild Wendy is back - but not for long...
Martin71RS replied to netsmithUK's topic in Tamiyaclub Rules and Site Usage
I suggest a competition "who makes the nicest ride for Wendy" so people can vote in who's Wild Willie she can sit in...... Martin -

Clod Crawler building guides?
Martin71RS replied to bangstick's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Twinset has said most, but I do not fully agree on the top link..... I made some with the top and lower links to the axles and it worked fine...see my showroom for info. (home made chassis with DIY materials, later laser cut version) there is one movie of it in action, the one with the blue body. Martin -

Yeah the feeling was great.....so good I just decided to buy the F350, I wanted it since I knew it was coming....The fact JR-RC has a great deal on them now was the final push I needed to hit the BIN [] Bearings bought too.....have a 4ch allready together with no limit ESC and high torque servo + saver.......I just got me an early birthdaypresent.....I really look forward to the build!! Martin

I went on a trip last weekend to London together with the wife....of course a visit to Harrods was in place, and they actually sell Tamiya too! I hoped to see an F350 there but no such luck. We also went to Hemmley (sp??), a very big toy store on Regent street...I loved it...and they also had Tamiya there (also 3 tank kits....those boxes are BIG!) I also saw the Tamtech Hornet and Frog, they are very nice!! What amazed me where the prices.... they were about 1,5 times more expensive then a kit from Honk Kong / Japan even with shipping and tax included[] Still it was cool to see the collection of NIB's on the shelf....[Y] Another cool thing at Harrods was a 1/3 or 1/4? scale Hummer....gasoline motor, 3 speed and real suspension...just 23.000 pounds (this is NOT a typo)...nice for the kids! [:S] Martin

it is missing the MFU, radio and ball bearings????[:#] Seriously...maybe you can be a little more exact?

Max, REZ homepage is...well let's say "not so good".... When I have saved enough money I will probably buy from stella or ebay.de....they will be way too expensive here anyways. Martin
