  1. I really like it.....!!! it's a 3 speed, solid axles, hard body, it's a scale looking truck (unlike the jugg/clod) and NEW!! That means (sort of?) affordable and spares available. It might not be a re-re 3 speed but a very good alternative. The original 3 speeds will keep their mythical status [] Big applause for Tamiya!!!! [<)]
  2. The box looks like Robbe to me from the colors/pictures/texts.... but maybe it is one of the below? . 3. well NZL60....got at least one extra reply doing that [] hehehe.... but to be honest I am anxious to see what it will be too.............!
  4. The radios will also come with the Nikko patented "TURBOBOOST" button to make it jump like the KnightRider! Actually the gearbox will be an electronic controlled sequential one, which als controls the suspension settings and diff locks. (the speed sensors in the axles give feedback and control the ABS) So a normal 4 channel will be okay I guess.
  5. Okay, I just got word from an inside source: It will be a 5-speed bruiser.... one with active hydraulic suspension, first 2 gears and long suspension travel for rock crawling and the top 3 gears and stiff lowered suspension for road racing. It will come with a hard body for show/shelf time and a lexan one for driving/performance. Since the brushless motor set-up (kit supplied) doesn't brake real good a 4 wheel hydraulic disc brake system is mounted (with line lock for burn-outs in 2 wheel drive mode) The estimated build time (without painting) will be around 1 full week. This new release will not also satisfy all Tamiya enthousiasts but also people that want to build a real car but don't have the funds or the space (which is very common for Japan) I hope I didn't spoil the surprise, but I couldn't keep it to myself any longer.
  6. could also be the re-re holiday buggy, now named the "sabatical buggy" [au]
  7. It will probably be a chocolate bruiser for the chocolate easter bunny to deliver his eggs with.....[] [] we'll just see what happens...... Oh, did I mention I feel a 16 page thread coming up??
  8. In the same boat as Shodog.....she doesnt really like it...but puts up with it since she loves me [] (and keeps me at home) Sometimes when I take up too much space she complains though.... All together no complaints, a great and (mostly) understanding wife.....My son does like it however!!
  9. Only my brother (we both started RC 25 years ago) and my son.. I now have a GH2 specially for him...with the 380 motor it is virtually indestructible...... Martin
  10. Nat, I am cooled down again [] Whenever I sell something I want (hope) the buyer is happy when he receives the item, just like I want to be satisfied when I buy something. Theo and I exchanged some emails and I am not mad at anyone (also not you!) All is cool[H] You are right about hindsight...[] and in my "anger" (it wasn't that bad) I did not read everything clearly as I should have. That is the tricky part about forums....it is easy for things to go the wrong way and/or take things the wrong way. So...now it is time for a group hug [] Martin
  11. Theo, I understand you compared it to the NIB prices on ebay .de (however I can't find them there?) Allthough from your post it didn't appear you included the "extra's" included in the price. (my interpretation) There is one NIB for sale on a local market that has a current bid of 175 euro (by a TC member) allthough it includes a cheap ESC. I jumped to the topic after a deal I made was being discussed in public without all the facts. Maybe I overreact a bit......I just hate when a buyer gets a bad feeling on a sale I did. (that's why I care) Not saying he will, and clearly he started this conversation himself. I did re-read your post and agree with the "never regret a deal" part. So, no hard feelings on my side..... Regards, Martin
  12. Theo, did you read carefully????? NO!!!!! I you read back you will see the price also included SHIPPING and a TECHNIGOLD!!!! This is exactly what I meant with giving correct info.. !!! PEOPLE PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU GIVE YOUR OPINION. It might get Bangstick to feel he paid too much when he got a good deal (IMO) It is the (then new) Blitzer I had with me on the German meeting and it maybe ran 2 or 3 times after that. That should tell you something about it's condition. Martin
  13. Nat, no harm done....I just wanted to give all the facts to give a bette picture of what you will be getting for that amount. I have no complaints on you (or your payment) whatsoever, and am convinced that you will mark this deal as "good" when you receive it. Regards, Martin
  14. Before you try to get anyone to judge I would like the story a bit more complete.... It is a very good condition BB... ball bearings except for the front wheels, original tires still in very good condition, box and manual, technigold with tools, set of rear onroad wheels and shipping to the UK included for 160euros. There will allways be people who will say you paid too much, others will say you had a good deal. It must be worth it to you, otherwise you would not have bought it I guess.....you seemed very happy with the deal. I am sure once you get it you will not feel "like i have had my pants pulled down yet again?" Martin
  15. I have read the whole thread and thought about reacting a few times but could not find the right words. Scoobs just said what I thought. TC is a great place to hang out... I must say over all these years I have not had 1 bad experience . Martin
  16. Ian, on a serious note; moisture does infect wood...it could warp or expand, wouldn't that create problems? Anyways good luck and I hope to see you prove us that it can be done. Martin
  17. [] LOL....I had to look twice before I got it (I know, I am not too bright [] ) Martin
  18. Must have been around '87 or so...me driving a hopped up Hornet (Technipower and ball bearings), a friend with a Hotshot 2 (which was very fast) and my brother with his Lunchbox. We used to "race" a lot back then with friends, nothing too serious, but allways fun! What our friend didn't know was we stacked another battery inside the Lunchbox so it ran on 14.4volts (or 12V, not 100% sure) We put it in front in the chassis to keep the nose on the ground. When we started the sprint, my brother laid down some rubber stripes on the road and blew us both away. Our friend could not understand what happened.....he picked up the Lunchbox and examined it.....all he saw was the stock motor (the car not even had bearings since they were so expensive back then) We had a great laugh about it.... I can also tell from experience a 540 kit motor does not like running on higher voltages.....we completely fried it. Martin
  19. Kai...depends a bit on when next month... I will be paying Mickey Mouse a visit in Paris then. (plus I need to get a few cars ready to drive) And Uwe, you are right...drempels s^ck.....specially when I finish lowering the 1:1
  20. Uwe....I analized your dream and came to this conclusion: All good things come from the Netherlands [] Kai, what will you be doing in Amsterdam....[<)][]??
  21. Is it me or does anyone else think that the front belt will not last long....?!? It is running in an angle over the pulleys....won't it run off? Martin
  22. This is how I do mine... only I saw the tube and file them. (even file a little chamfer on the ends of the threads end tubes) I do not use the nuts on the thread, I just screw the ball-ends on. You do not see a difference between a turned one and a home fabbed one. Does take some work though. (great write-up!) Martin
  23. Same here Jerry..... Martin
  24. Dee, maybe this is of use: http://www.manta400.nl/ I sold the guy an Ascona400, he came and picked it up in his 400... (he's dutch too) Martin
