Hi all, Happy new year everyone!id="green"> I'm looking for a TC past topic about the super champ spike rear tires (difference between the old ones and the new ones re-released with a hole). I can't find it![] Well, the old ones seems to be harder and much stronger than the new ones. I've both since some years ago and the new ones are also perished, the old ones are good. My questions are: -Is it a special rubber compound (harder) used by Tamiya for the super Champ rear tires? The weight is so heavy on the rear of this car! -The new hornet re-release tires are soft with a bad quality??? No much time to live?[8)] Thank's for your help,[] François.

Removing decals for re-use. Possible?
poulpit replied to rcgrabbag's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
RC grabbag, Maybe this forum can help you to replace the "used decals". I use one free film of adhesive (It's just one film of adhesive between 2 siliconed sheets) to "reglue" my old decals....[] http://www.tamiyaclub.com/xforum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14836 Cheers, François. -

Wild willy 1 bronze bush help needed
poulpit replied to Stevenchat2000's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
quote:Originally posted by Stevenchat2000All I really need is the depth /thickness of them , dont know if there 2mm or 3mm id="quote">id="quote">Hello Steven, After I've checked the bronze bushing on my WW:thickness:2.5 mm (!), outside diameter:6 mm, inner diameter:3 mm. Both little parts are impossible to find on shop! Maybe, I'm not sure, it's possible to create these bushings. Look in the vanquish instruction the part BF3. They're bronze damper mount. If you cut the thin tube, and after sanding for the thickness, you'll have your bushing.[] I think these parts BF3 are easy to find..... Cheers, François. P.S.: Your ranger you've sold me some years ago is fine, it's always a shelf queen....[] -

NIB Hornet Rerelease - $100. out in december :)
poulpit replied to rroodd's topic in Re-Release Discussions
quote:Originally posted by netsmithUK It is basically the old Hornet with slight change to decals id="blue"> id="quote">id="quote">Hello, I think the little registred decals like K&N, Cibié, Valvoline,.... will be differents. As for The WW2, blitzer decals, there are unknow marks because Tamiya doesn't own the license to produce a decals sheet with trademark or registred products on each models released or re-released, that's very expensive. You'll find "superblik", "sprotch shocks", "pufff exhaust" etc.....on the re-released hornet [] Cheers, François. -
And the happy guy is : the seller![8D]

I use one thin film of dry adhesive, "sandwiched" between two siliconed paper. For me, it's the best method... I think you can find them in a pictures local shop. I'm lucky, the adhesive factory when I'm working makes them![] Cheers, François.

Which tyres is in demand?Suggestion pls??
poulpit replied to firestar8177's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
[] All the SRB's tires types, 5 models in total: 2 front (RR and SS)and 3 rear(Ranger, champ and SS). I think is the most requested tires you can repro.....it would be nice.[] Good luck[^] -
The 1150´s you need are for the axles, I suppose. But what about the other small ones (620), you mention? 8 X 1150 are used on the wheel axles as you've mentioned. 2 X 620 are used in the front gearbox, on a thin pin. 2 X 850 and 2 X 830 in the rear gearbox, near the center balldif. I'm according the scan of the manual is not so clear.[] The 620 ones are very little (6 mm diameter outside, 2 mm inside!).
-
Some ball bearings are inclued in the kit not the little 620 and some 1150. Vanquish use the avante gear differentials, not the bb dif.(egress type). you're right, comes with a pair of universals for the front transmission. See the manual instruction for more infos about the bb. Cheers, François. P.S.: You're right, pleiku. The center dif. is a bb type. the both front and rear are gears type. []
