Thanks for the link, just sent him an email for a quote

I don't know, if you took a an SRB removed everything except for the essentials, used a CRP type chassis, added a few needed upgrades it may fare better than expected. In the end the result would probably still end up RC10, Scorpion, SRB. I would love to see some vintage races of the early cars such as the Scorp, SRB, AYK Baja, etc..

Would be interesting to know the sales figures on the Scorpion versus the RC10. I agree RC10 on performance, it was a game changer. Had considered buying the RC10 re re, but decided to try and find a mint original, and did for quite a bit less than the re re. To me the Scorpion has it all over the RC10 on looks, would love to see a stock to stock and modded shootout.

Can't get over how aggressive those tires are, they look like they will rip up some grass I remember buying my first set of aftermarket tires for my clod, started with stubbies, then when the pro Line pro tracks I think they they are called, came out had to have them. Have had Clods since they first came out, one of the funnest RC's I've ever run, they just look so cool!

I would think the Optima will happen, I also think they will come out with the parts to do the Turbo Scorpion or the Tomahawk. Wish they would re re the Beetle, don't think it was popular enough back in the day, but who knows? I'd buy one

Now that would be something

Yep seen them, have heard good and bad on them, what is your experience? Have you run your full metal kit much? After seeing the broken part pic, wonder about the durability.

Kyosho Scorpion Re Release at Shizuoka Hobby Show !
scootmike replied to Blitz Supra's topic in Re-Release Discussions
The re re does not come with a motor, it is listed in the hop ups for the Scorp. I have 1 coming along with the HG shocks, Kyosho sure knew how to get people excited by offering the hop ups. I check everyday for them, they have my interest (HOP UP JUNKY) Shame Tamiya didn't do something similiar with the SS BC, they could have sold a lot of them. -
Hi All Looking for a set of black front wheels with tires. Thanks Mike

Ouch, didn't need to see that Hope as you say it's a bad casting. First breakage I have seen anywhere. Have not heard any negative comments on his kit. Where did you find the metal to metal contact and where did you file it?

Why are my posts being deleted?

Looks like it was moved to sales and trades -
I noticed they are not on his site too. Went to buy the shafts and it came up with $24 shipping, OUCH! Sent an email to see how much the shipping will be, on ebay he sells quite a few parts and on the small stuff it's $5, I'm assuming it was a mistake on the web site. The Scorpion 2014 shocks are pretty nice, just like the old days, Kyosho shocks are better than the Tamiya's (did I say that out loud?)
-
Any updates on this? Going to give this shot a myself, ordered a Silhouette Cameo cutter, seems the possibilities are endless.
-
I plan using a set of Scorpion 2014 shocks with the coilover kit, I made aluminum collars for the tops and will use the stock Kyosho bottom mounts. Will be removing the torsion bars and front springs. Will be interesting to see how it all work out.
-
Oh no not a waste of time, showed me what I needed to order. I'm pretty impressed with the kit, looks like it really fixes the camber issues.

Hey Guys Thanks for the replies and the instructions. Think I have it sorted, for whatever reason the builder used the Tamiya joints instead of the RC Channel shafts. Emailed Paul at RC Channel, and got a quick reply, seems like a really cool guy by the way. Will be ordering the correct shafts. Seller first said $50 to ship, which is way to much, then said $30 to ship, which I was Ok with, then after the auction was over, sent an invoice for $50 for shipping. I know he thought the car should have brought more, heck I thought it would have went for more, that's the chance you take on an auction. This thing is loaded with aluminum, even has aluminum motor and gear covers, not sure who made them. Will put some pics in my showroom in a bit. I had planned on building a Scorcher just like it, have wanted to used a RC Channel kit, he makes some nice parts. Might buy another kit for a Ranger I'm doing.
-
Had a Scorcher delivered today that has the RC Channel metal kit installed. Did not come with the instruction, anybody have a scan? Having a problem with one side binding when I compress it. The other side is nice and smooth. Pulled the shock off thinking it was the problem, but it wasn't. Then pulled the axle and that is where the problem is, don't know what is causing it to bind, when removed the suspension has full travel, when installed it binds up. This buggy was new built, ran 2 times and then put on the shelf. The one thing I question is, does the full metal kit use the Tamiya U joints, or something else? This buggy has the stock u joints, haven't been able to find pics of the metal kit to tell what it uses. The owner-buider is no help, I think he is ticked off that it didn't bring more in the auction, he even screwed me on the shipping. Thanks for any help. Mike

Kyosho Scorpion Re Release at Shizuoka Hobby Show !
scootmike replied to Blitz Supra's topic in Re-Release Discussions
CRP also had a single bar nerf set, as well as JG Mfg. I have both sets of nerf bars from CRP, and the full cage as seen in the pics, I've not been able to convince myself to drill holes in the cage to mount the 3 point nerfs. Also have 1 of the JG nerfs, the other was missing from the pkg, I don't think it was ever in there, the pkg had no holes or damage, just missing a bar. Plan to make the matching bar out of aluminum stock, made a rolling bender. Need to finish this one someday, the re re kinda took the thrill out of it. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/pictureframe.asp?t=n&id=img985_25032014222904_1.jpg -

Did not really do much as far as body prep, cleaned it and painted it, going to be a runner so didn't put too much time into it. Less bumming when it gets trashed
