  1. What is your method on removing the lugs? I'd like to try it sometime.
  2. That is impressive! Lets hear the details of how you shaped it.
  3. They look like AYK 566B Super Tail tires that have had lugs removed, never seen them done like that, looks cool!
  4. Evohobbies will getting their shipment tomorrow, won't be long!
  5. That is looking great, so you started with a Buggy Champ rear section?
  6. That is the plan, will strip it down, give it a bath in the sonic cleaner, polish it up and reassemble with new bearings. Have never had a SRB Thorp diff, kinda excited to pull it apart, would imagine it is a lot like the Scorpion diff.
  7. I chopped up a lexan MRP Pro 110 body to try on it and a couple of other chassis, not really happy with the fit on this one. Found a Parma Chenowth body that I'm going to try next.
  8. Wow that looks too cool, can't wait for mine to get here. Are the shocks 10mm?
  9. Thought I'd post my latest find. Buggy is pretty much all hop ups, as you can see, has a Thorp diff you can't see
  10. Ok, found the grill, made the front body mounts on a lathe, still looking for a rear window and now looking for an original Sand Scorcher body and original f/r shocks.
  11. Thanks for posting those instructions for the Race Prep dual shock adapter, I've misplaced mine. If I'm not mistaken these use longer front shocks instead of the rear shocks. I'm thinking of using them on a Ranger, might see if there is enough room to use a coilover kit on them. I know on the RCH there is not enough room. After seeing these stunning cars, it put me in the mood to go thru some parts and see what i have left, time to put something together. Thanks again for sharing these cars!
  12. Need some help with these, hope to find the matching fronts.
  13. Anybody ever see a Ranger body without the Ford on the front? Was just looking over both bodies and realized one does not have the Ford letters on the front. I'm guessing they were sanded off, it is a true blue Ranger body. Good thing it will be my runner.
  14. My problem is, everything appeals to me I've jumped from Tamiya to Kyosho to AE to Yokomo to AYK and probably more if I think hard enough. Almost all vintage, don't really care for the newer stuff, did have to get a couple of the 1/5 HPI's. It's an addiction and I like it
  15. I'll get some pics up in my showroom in the next couple of days. Was just checking out some Krylon Fusion Patriotic Blue, might have to pick up a can and give it a try. Thanks for the link!
  16. Nice job on the chassis, will be watching for the body repair, have never built or repaired anything out of styrene, have a couple of broken champ bodies I'd like to save.
  17. I have ordered the Scorpion, still have a SS and a RR to build, they are the only new kits I have bought the last few years. I'm also getting to the point of not enough room for them all and am considering letting quite a few go, let someone else enjoy them. Also have a lot of parts I need to start selling, am coming to the realization that I can't restore everything I want to. Getting old I guess
  18. Hi All Will be embarking on a couple of XLT resto's, bodies have been previously painted, then soaked in brake fluid. Both will require a little body work here and there, nothing too major, luckily front fender tabs are not damaged. Now onto the paint question, which Tamiya paint is spot on for the Ranger blue? Also has anyone had any success repainting the grill and bumper? Thanks for any help! Mike
  19. WOW! You built some really cool cars back in the day! Thanks for sharing the pics, great that you have held onto them too!
  20. IMHO, Kyosho is taking some of the sting and bitterness out of doing the rere by releasing hop ups right from the start. I can't wait for my Scorp and to start buying hop ups, have a kit on preoder, will have to build another with hop ups.
  21. Great job on the resto! Nice seeing other than box stock resto's the Gulf colors look great!
  22. Will wonders never cease? I'm as surprised by this as Kyosho re reing the Scorp! Tower show's the Scorp for $219!
