Kyosho Scorpion Re Release at Shizuoka Hobby Show !
scootmike replied to Blitz Supra's topic in Re-Release Discussions
I actually asked Dwayne about making a repo of the Turbo roof, he said he would have trouble making the bend. I finally found a Turbo roof from a member here, not an easy part to find and pricy. -

I'm really digging the trans with the slipper too, curious about the ball diff, will have to do some reading up on it. At least they haven't overpriced it and it's great they are releasing so much info so quickly. -

Do they wait until the actual show to announce anything else or is this it??? Somebody has to know something!!! Was thinking they would have to have something big for their 40th, Kyosho really has the biggie so far. -

WOW! Hadn't seen that name in years, remember his website too. The good old days.

Thanks for posting that! Pretty cool to see it in the manuals. I plan on doing a stock resto on it, I like em stock and I like em hopped up

My MK1.5 description was meant with some humor I do see your points. I wouldn't say it is rarer or wrong either, I just think it is neat to see the changes on these cars during production. Perhaps more than one casting company was making the parts, again I just like seeing the differences in them.

Just received a Rough Rider and it looks like it is a MK 1.5 It has all the early parts except for the black bumper and early gearbox. Had planned on using it with a CRP Butterfly chassis and rollbar but think it will get a stock resto, I think it is too unique not to restore stock. I do believe it is all original, chassis wise it is in very nice shape. Body is in pretty good shape, missing the spotlights and has a couple of cracks here and there. I really like these old srb's.

Had hoped to mount a RR body to this chassis, I picked up a Trick Stuff RR Roll Cage that replaces the stock roof. I can make it work, was curious to see another RR with the RCH parts. Believe me I know the Race Prep parts are rare, have had quite a bit of them over the years, I have the RP shock kit, it uses the longer front shocks. I will keep this chassis pretty much as is, did find the MRP Pro 110 body fits really well.
-
Anybody have this mounted on a Rough Rider? Not looking like it wants to fit with the cutout on the body. I can space it out so the body clears, but the shocks are forward of the cutout. Also any pics of the Race Prep Dual shock kit mounted?
-
I've been thinking about doing just that, the basher in me likes it, the collector in me wants an original. Haven't seen just the body for the 3 for sale, have all the other parts, just need a body, might go with a blackfoot 1.

Looking for a Ranger. Thanks Mike
