  1. Sucks about the roof panel, I would send him pics, he should replace it.

Got lucky and and found an original nip for cheap, remember paying $50 for one a few years ago!

Boy how prices sure have come down, it's a great time to be in this hobby.

As for JRRC I ended up opening a case, could not get a response from him on a $200 + order, hate to say it but I'm done with him.

Have bought a lot of parts thru the years, no more. He made no replies to paypal either so I was refunded in full.

    What a shame.

  2. My Scorpion came with 2x left hand side roll cage pieces! One on sprue, one loose in the bag, and the kit was factory sealed, I reckon our kits must have been next to each other on the production line, I have been waiting since July for the parts to come along with the cvd from Jason's store. Not impressed.

WOW, have your parts shown they have shipped?

Has Jason given any reason as to why such a long wait?

I've ordered a few things in the past and always got them pretty quick.

  3. I curious, how reliable the banzai shop availability info is now. When I ordered a few parts, they send me 2 days later a mail, with a confirmation of 50% of my order. So please let us know, what they are actually able to deliver.

I sent Banzai a message yesterday asking about stock, they replied back the same day saying they were processing my order and it would ship Monday.

Must say I am impressed with the speed of the reply.

Will update when I receive notification of shipment.

Having looked at the piece in question again. I think you are right because there a lip which is more difficult to produce. The mfg has to use a curve surface to from the lip or as you have mentioned some how bend it during production. Maybe $36.00 is not too expensive, but as consumers we always prefer to pay less.

Believe me I would like to see lower prices myself, will have a small fortune in building my full option Scorpion.

I'm only going on the fact the Kyosho mentions the "special forming process" for the servo mount and gear box mount.

Kyosho really has made the Scorpion re release so much more exciting by offering these hop ups.

Did you receive a confirmation when you placed your order?

Or did they send another confirmation when they shipped?

I've only ordered one other time, and everything came as ordered.

  5. Is likely because is a new product and just testing the water. I think the servo plate is cut from a flat sheet to form the curve, so there maybe a small amount of wastage. Prizing error makes more sense. $15.00 is still a bit much but $35.00 is too much.

don't know, guess we will see, I checked this link http://translate.goo...FXUrXxj_UjGmqFw posted by SupraChrgd82, its listed for $36 there.

  6. Anyone know what Kyosho's plans are for Option Parts in the USA?

I got the HG shocks, but RC Carbon Works extended shock towers don't fit right. Front is too short, rear is too tall. Not to mention that HG shocks are excessively complex.

I can't find a carbon servo saver mount anywhere.

The U-joint axles are expected to solve the binding dog-bone issue.

My box of aftermarket spares is expanding for this car from experimenting with North American aftermarket parts.

Several shops in Japan have most of the Option Parts listed, but nothing here. Presumably, parts are available, no?

Which shops in Japan show the option parts?

I have checked Banzai and JRRC.

Does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to how they are releasing parts, have seen the universals for sale on Jason's site, they are out of stock now.

He also has the LED light kit, but no roll cage or light buckets.

You would think they would have the HG carbon shock towers out since the HG shocks are available

Just makes no sense to me.

Wish they would get on with it!

I want to build my full option Scorpion 2014!

  8. Both RCH and CRP made monoshock systems for the SRB's before the Super Champ. These were mounted on their special cages, in front of the gear box, and used a Kyosho 1/8 shock. BTW if someone have one of these sets, new or used, I'm interrested!

What is less known is that Norwegian (!) manufacturer S. Andreassen also made a monoshock solution, very similar to the Super Champ, but to fit on Sand Scorcher etc. Never seen one of these, other than in this ad from early 1983.

    crp_111.jpg

There were other solutions as well, like this "Rocking Shock" (that's the name of it). Never seen one of these in real life either, and don't know who made it, but it used the 1/8 Kyosho shocks....

I guess we can say that racing drivers back then experimented a lot, but did a lot more "rough" experimenting. Something worked well, and other things not so well. Today its more like millimeter precision with setup equipment to measure everything from droop to camber, caster and everything, as there is more or less concensus as to what works best. I liked it more when it was "rough", and bright ideas were set in to life. That's just my opinion.

I wish you luck in finding one, as you know not any easy part to find.

I searched forever, seen a couple that had sold on evilpay, finally found mine attached to a buggy, have thought about seeing if I can get some made off of it, don't know if it would be worth it.

It's a neat setup, of course would also have to find an appropriate shock, Parma made a nice looking shock back then too, have heard they are leakers though.

Have a few of them, need to see if or how bad they leak a ;0
