  1. Had a good chance to really get some time in on the baja, swopped out the esc and motor that were fitted to the car, fitted/soldered new conecters on the ripmax esc and fitted the pro-stock motor, was good fun. Not thought of myself as a bit of an rc geek but i could see me becoing one very quickly Only hit one snag and that was i hadn't tightened up the grub screw very well and it came loose spinning off the cog on the motor, so gott take it all apart agian 2morrow nite and fix that lol Starting to get some designs together for the respray aswell, thou thinking of buying a new baja champ shell to do it on as this one is battered and would be good to have a rough shell for bashing about with
  2. Well fitted the pro-stock motor tonite along with the ripmax no-limits esc i had in the box aswell, and has made a massive difference in speed it literally flys along now Though think i've got a front diff problem, the car is pulling to the left and adjusting the trimming doesn't help, also when you hold the car off the ground the front right doesn't spin unless you give it full beans but you can see the suspension arm pulling back under load.
  3. Well in the box were these 3 motors, one was on the car the other 2 are spare but which on should i use? The spare 2 need some wiring done, i noticed the one on the car has a connection bridging across the motor but the spares don't, if that makes sense Here they are; Spare 1 Spare 2 The one currently on the car Here's a picture on-top of the purple bull with the missing connection circled Cheers guys
  4. Cheers guys terry: where abouts would you put the grease, much prefer the idea of a slipper diff than a lock-diff
  5. Is it really as simple as just taking out the prop shaft? Basically been going through my e-bay bargain bucket and found i only need a couple of bits (chassis and receiver) and i have all the components to build another TL-01 based rc car, and have been thinking about leaving it rwd for a bit of drifting, could i make it rwd simply by leaving out the prop shaft and front diff bits, or am i risking damaging something? Also, was looking at the rear diff assembly and have been thinking, if i dropped a bit of liquid cement in there in the right place would that in effect lock the diff up? sort of a plastic version of the welded diff
  6. Well managed to find the instructions and reset the esc but now reverse doesn't work Had a bit of a prod about too and found its got a yokomo 21 turn motor in it
  7. Just going through the stack of papers i also got and it seems to be a Msonik4 Eco-27, but there are no instructions, how do i set it up?
  8. Well after winning on ebay what feels like ages the baja champ ad spares turned up from ebay And oh my god hat a huge amount of spares, i've got sooo much stuff, loads still on trees and the car is complete and running! I'll get some pics up 2morrow But a quick question to start, in this huge bundle i have got a range of different crystals for the car and the controller but tbh i haven't got a clue what i'm doing with them, i can get the car to run, and **** it cracks along when its going but the wheels are always spinning even when i release the controller and it won't engage reverse very well. What could be doing this? It also killed the charge on a 2400 battery in about 5 minutes, the motor isn't a tamiya one, its black/purple but can't see how may turns I plan to strip it down and rebuild so replacing stuff isn't a problem, oh yeah and i'm pretty certain its been full ballbearing-ed
  9. Cheers mate, i'll source myself some of them when the box turns up Haha i did warn you i was newbie to all this
  10. Dean connectors? Sorry am new to this, how hard is it to resolder the connections on the motor?
  11. Cool, cheers for the advice, i'm planning on stripping it down and rebuilding it anywhere, its a second hand car i'm assuming the worst and planning to replace bits anyway, plus it give me something to do and the best way to learn As far as i know form the ebay description its got some hop-up bits all ready fitted There is also spares there to convert the chassis from the TL01B to TL01 with a couple of road shells Also included is this little lot; Anyone have any ideas and advice on how good this is or is it beyond repair?
  12. Woohoo, finally managed to nail a win on an ebay auction Have picked myself up a baja champ with a whole shed load of spares and extra bits, plus all the batteries/chargers and radio gear to get me going, now just gotta wait for it turn up My plan is to either strip the original shell or buy a new one and paint with a custom spray job, box-art whats that?! lol Does anyone have experience spraying poly carb paints through an airbrush? Whats the best stuff to get?
  13. Haha cheers for clearing that up, i did wonder lol Is that the sort of thing better done at the build stage then? So worth investing in at the same time as buying the buggy
