  1. A few weeks ago I seen a mint condition TAMIYA rough rider in box sell for around $1500 dollars I would like to know the highest amount sold for a vintage rc car, what was it and what cars are more likely to generate high prices and why I have seen cars of the same age but some are selling for higher prices than others.
  2. The chassis is a tao2 from the 90s era I bought a car simular for $100 dollars from ebay in australia you might get up to $200 if the car is in good condition and complete my car no longer runs i just can't get parts for it thats is the only problem with it. Good luck Brett.
  3. I know this a Tamiya forum but many tamiya freaks loved the old panda stockers because they were so much like a hornet with a monte carlo body does anyone ever owned on or has dirven such a handful of a car.In many clubs around in the early 90s this car was a stepping stone for the on road touring racing we see today.
  4. The plan is the few special cars that I have loved I only have one so far that I like 80s tamiya pajero I have a few late 80s and early 90s cars but they don't do much for me (sonic fighter Mad cap and bear hawk) My wish list is Audi quattro rally car opel ascona rally car Tamiya Falcon buggy Fast Attack vechle And a Kyosho turbo optima. So the plan is to make heaps cash so I can afford to some rare cars.
  5. RichieRich is right old parma body from around 1986 I use to own one for my Kosho ultima. Brett.
  6. you can't beat the good old hornet simple cheap and hard to kill
  7. You should turn the transmiter on before you turn the car on without the transmiter going the car will be receiving other radio waves making the car go nuts. If the car is still going crazy check the transmiter cristals and the receiver cristals make sure the frequency number is the same check the antenna wire to the receiver is attached. If there is still a problem dont be afraid to ask cheers Brett.
  8. Speed tuned gear set Bearings Shock upgrade steel pinion gear original aluminum pinion does not last for long I hope this will help cheers Brett
  9. Speed tuned gear set the TT01 is slow as a slug out of the box and steel pinion gears Cheers Brett
  10. You can buy hex drives that are a little wider they sometimes show up on ebay. I race a M03 with touring car wheels with the wide hex drives but I have to race a different mini style body because the original mini body sits too high with the larger wheels, the body I use is a Holden SLR 5000 it has flared gaurds. If you want to use the mini rims I use HPI m pattern or HPI x pattern mini tyres (they last a long time) Thanks Brett.
  11. I started racing around 1984 with the usual off road cars of the era one car that I never drove or seen much of was the Audi Quattro and the Opel Ascona so anyone that has owned one can tell me what they drove like and the mechanical problems they have. Once in a while one will show up on ebay I an thinking about paying the big money to buy a piece of Tamiya history to fill a childhood dream.
  12. We have new people wanting to buy a new rc car in our club we say that the HPI sprint is a good entry level car. I need to know other electric cars that wont require extra money to spend on them to get up to speed for 540 class racing Eg(speedtuned gears, bearings, shocks) Alot of people will buy a rc car and expect it can be raced out of the box. Thanks.
  13. You should go brushless in your TB just make sure you have an aloy motor mount the plastic one will melt or go out of shape I have been racing for over 20 years and have had nitro and electric and electric are by far more reliable and have better performance. Cheers WILO.
  14. A friend gave me a new Tamiya boomerang he built it wrong he thought there was something missing in the kit he missed a bearing in the rear gear box.
  15. I regret buying a TRF 414 world championship edition the car was painful to setup unreliable and the parts were impossible to get.
