  1. SDGator, I stand with you on this one. I wonder when they will decide to go brushless? The Blitzer would be a good one to launch it with.
  2. Hey guys, soory to jump back a topic or two, but one of you mentioned that motors should be 'run in'? I'm not expert and this is the first time I've heard of having to do this. I'm dead interested to find out how to do this. If one of you could reply with a rough outline. Cheers
  3. Clever, different, very original. A greta idea, and you've done it really well. Top Job!!!!
  4. I'm not really into trucks, but that arena and those trucks look fantastic. Good job on he video. The night time stuff at the end looks totally real. Well done!!
  5. Electric is for those of us who are trying to recapture our youth, due to its simplistic plugin-and-play capabilities. We also get the same 'oh know' feeling as the battery begins to die. LOL!!!! Nitro is for those of us who are trying to recapture our youth, but are a bit embarressed to be seen with toy cars, so we use the excuse that this is an adults hobby as it deals with engines!!!! LOL!!!! I like both as they have fastly different characteristcs, that fit a wide range of needs!!! And the more people than can afford/build/play with such fantastic bits of kit, the better!!!

  10. Tamiya Sand Scorcher 'look-a-like' 4X4!!! This is my Sand Scorcher look-a-like. It's basically a 1-peice lexan beetle shell on a modern tamiya 4 wheel drive shaft driven chassis. (A TL-01 i think??) The shell has the usual bumps and scrapes from being run but has no major splits or cracks. It has a brand new ariel tube too. It has a nice set of copper anodised alloys as well as a full set of copper anodised oil-filled shocks. It goes and handles really well. It's fitted with a brand new Super Stock TZ can with the following specs: Super Stock Motor TZ is designed to realize heightened balance at both higher RPM and torque performance. Brush holders provide large surface for transferring electricity to commutator. Slits on motor allow heat dissipation. Brush dampers heighten contact with commutator and color anodized brush heatsinks (red, black) are equipped on end bell. This motor is re-buildable for maintenance. Super Stock Motor TZ A high performance motor for electric radio control car use. A high torque motor designed for endurance race or low speed track. Can be disassembled for maintenance. Blue anodized end bell with brush dampers. Features terminal heat sink and detachable chip capacitor. 23 turn motor Usable voltage: 7.2V R.P.M. at best efficiency: 26,500rpm (7.2V) Torque at best efficiency: 500g-cm (7.2V) JRM certified motor. It's already fitted with a steering servo so just add a battery, esc and a radio set and your racing!!! Low starting price so grab yourself this new vintage!!!!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=014

  14. Could someone supply a contact number? I have sent numerous e-mails and have had no reply. It's been over 4 weeks now. I don't mind waiting if I know that they are definately still being processed. But I feel that my order is now lost. Any help on how to contact 'Myles' would be gratefull.
  15. The address for Masons is: myleshall@slope.wanadoo.co.uk I PM'd Netsmith and have had no response. ?? I'll give it a few more weeks and then start the ball rolling with Paypal. I feel like I'm flogging a dead horse.
  16. You may be in for a long wait. I ordered some wheels and slick tyres for my Porsche 959 over a month ago. No tires and no response to e-mails. I hope someone has some news that may suit us both. I paid for mine via paypal and feel as though I've been had. I'm patient but this is beyond a joke. Rant over. Can anyone else hlep us???
  17. I've noticed that also, but as a UK ebayer I have shipped stuff to both of those locations with no issue at all. I know that I see alot of ebay auctions that almost 'shout' that they will not suffer Nigerian scammers. It's sad that people get painted with the brush of a few bad-un's. Unfortunately it seems to be true in some cases that good guys do finish last it would seem.
  18. You can use Autosol on them, but it'll take your hours and will probably make your fingers bleed. Or you can have them 'bead blasted', this is a gentler version of sand blasting and will leave a polished finish. I've yet to find somewhere to do my bead blasting so do suffer with sore fingers. (If you find somewhere, let me know) I'm not that experienced in this game, but this should get you started. I'm sure others will answer the thread with some more solutions. Check out the bumper on my yellow Sand Scorcher. That was done with autosol. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/pictureframe.asp...007140506_1.jpg Good Luck!!!
  19. Hi Scollins, thanks for the info. I buy from the States quite regulary and alsways ask for different postal services. It'll help stop any mix-ups.
  20. I kinda agree with Robotnik on this one. Personally I'd like to see more 'custom' parts being made. When dealing with collectables I feel that its more about 'having something different to everyone else'. The showrooms demonstrate that very clearly when you see how many versions there are of each model. The TC members (that we all know and love) who make various alloy SRB parts will never be short of demand, so I'd say follow in their path. If you have the ability/resources to create new parts then this is the direction that I think would be in hot demand. Just my opinion of course. Hope it helps.
  21. I'd certainly be interested. I have a shelf queen and two 959 runners, and I'd have parts for all three. Let me know when you have them and what the price is. I would like to see pictures first though. Thanks!!!
  22. I think I'll have to order one of these, even if it's only for the reason that it has great scale looks. I'm hoping it'll handle like a beast too. I'm thinking; brushless set up, but will depend on the strength of the running gear. I like the fact that its built from prper parts too. My initial thought was that it's like a modern SRB. Gonna put my order in tomorrow.
  23. I learned that my friends 959 was faster than my Thundershot. I learned that the batteries were c**p I learned how to make RC go faster!!! I LEARNED ABOUT HOP_UPS!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Dude, i did that recently when rebuiling my scorcher. NIGHTMARE!!! Was on my hands and knee's praying that I could find all the parts to put it back together. Managed it, but scared the life out of me LOL!!!!!!
