  1. These tyres arrived within a couple of weeks and I got the chance to try them in anger yesterday - they are definitely better than rally blocks and offer a little more ground clearance. For £6.50 delivered they are a no-brainer really for anyone looking to trail their Jimny...
  2. Much more detailed than mine! Looks fantastic! Are you going to do a Grasshopper version?
  3. I cant take credit for the idea Someone has made a Hornet version and John Weston said "are you going to do a Grasshopper one next" - which was what made me want to do it. I love the look of the Grasshopper but not interested in owning one as a runner - this was the prefect compromise
  4. Thanks all - it was favourably received on IconicRC too - I have to say it turned out better than it looked in my head too! Really pleased with it
  5. Yup thats what I have! They came with my E92 wheels that I put on the car and I thought I might as well wear them out before I get the wheels refurbed - they are terrible for grip though - breaking away with so much ease I am glad to have DSC lol They are a quiet tyre though in their defence - so at least you can hear yourself sliding into a ditch lolol
  6. Hardened Nankangs on the back of my 325ti are great fun :-D
  7. Haha I remember having WooSung tyres on a Vauxhall Cavalier in the late 90s - so bad you almost couldn't pull away in the wet on a hill lol WooSung are now "Nexen" if you didnt know...
  8. I posted this on the Iconic RC Facebook page but think its worth adding it here too :-) Wanted a build an RC over Christmas but had nothing coming from Santa and a couple of NIBs that I am not feeling at the moment. Saw the cheap DT03s on the trade area so picked one up and went for a different colour scheme which I think has turned out well :-) Thoughts from the Tamiya massive?!
  9. Do we have a motorcycle thread to accompany this one? Why am I thinking we asked that question a few pages ago..? Anyway - I have 3 bikes in my current stable... 2003 Honda Hornet 600 for summer hooning... 1998 Suzuki GS125 for year round commuting... Latest purchase to compliment the other two - 1994 BMW F650 for winter rides and other summer fun
  10. I have just stuck my Holiday Buggy re-re in the loft for that reason. I broke it at RHR and thought about fixing it to sell it and realised its worth so little I might as well shove it in a box at the back of the loft and "rediscover it" at some point in the future lol
  11. Chris - nothing to worry about - I have attended all the meets on my own and everyone is friendly, approachable and of the same mind - in fact its great when you start talking to people and you realise that there are plenty of other people who love RC (and not necessarily competitively) as much as you do :-)

    MF-01X Bitsa

Hehe I did the same with my first M05 build - built it from an M03. I think I have enough bits to do it for a £40 spend so not as bad as I thought - agreed its more about the adventure!

    MF-01X Bitsa

Just pricing this up to build a second MF01X and I think the price of a new kit from somewhere like Fusion with the discount makes building one from parts look expensive? Or am I missing something? £31.34 for the main chassis, gears, damper stays and driveshaft from HK seller on eBay - but the thing that gets me is the screw bags, I dont have enough spares for 2 diffs, outdrives and drive cups and cannot find the correct "Screw Bags" for sale. Please enlighten me as I would love to build another one
  14. I bought an NIB Stadium Blitzer earlier this year so am using that as my RC related Xmas present
  15. I guess it depends on the terrain but the muddy/leafy place I usually drive scale off-road they just werent soft enough. I even cut every other tread off to try and improve things but no luck
  16. Looks good but I have never been a fan of the Tamiya BFGs - they are just too hard
  17. I had them made for me years ago - but these days scale off road is so popular that you can buy sets of "things" to put in roof racks... http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Car-Parts-Accessories-/140973/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=scale+accessories
  18. Just a cheap one I found on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121688709127
  19. Quick and dirty picture of my roof rack and lights installation - the lights are excellent...
  20. Had a go at cutting one of the SDI Trail Doctors last night - what a nightmare! Still one is done but its not perfect. Also the RC4WD beadlock wheels are a notorious pain to put together - couple that with a cut a shut tyre my patience was wearing thin last night! One whole evening and only 1 tyre cut and glued and not even mounted lol Still - should be worth it in the end...
  21. Interesting method of longer damper travel from that video...
  22. Just watched it and wow! Same wheels that I have waiting to go on I will have more aggressive tyres though - mainly as they are half the cost! http://www.sdi4x4.com/index.php?id_product=32&controller=product&id_lang=1
