A RE of a RE????? Really. The avante is not a cheap kit. Lucky for me I bought my RE re Avante cheap & half built as he lost interested. Otherwise I would not have one. Why not do a Re of the RE of the Top Force & EVO, Thunder Shot & Dyna Storm as well Mr Tamiya.

I haven't had any issues with my re re W/O . Built to the instructions and running a sport tune with li po;s it's very nippy. I do think I hear it clicking now & again but might be me being paranoid about it.

Manta Ray vs. Super Manta Ray - what are the differences?
MAD RACER replied to XV Pilot's topic in Re-Release Discussions
The chassis is different as it is sold as a Expert built car. RTR in other words. I don't own one but seen one and apart from the rtr chassis with a thin pliable plastic body not a lexan shell like the Ray. & other bits you metioned it's pretty much the same as the original ray. I do like the paint scheme -
RC10 original gold pan re-release - RCCA july 2013
MAD RACER replied to Toykid's topic in Re-Release Discussions
Mine went togeather quite well. All finished and has had a few packs through it. All I can say this is one awesome buggy. Out of the box it feels every bit as good as my well sorted Graphite. -
Gee guys you have really made my day. Just checked my Core Code & its the CR151. I have bought 4 additional rx's for it at $35ea So on 10 rx's that's a saving of $300. Thanks guys. Been waiting to buy more RX's for my boats for racing before I switched over to the new sticks but now I can just go ahead as all my rx's are the HK3100. Who came up with this brilliant idea???
-
Sorry to be off topic a little BUT did you say that the H/K 2.4G rx works with the Core Code????. I really hope so. I just bought one of those Stick radios and each rx is $35 to the H/K $7.

Please, please, please, please Re-Re the Vanquish!
MAD RACER replied to Freebs's topic in Re-Release Discussions
Yep That's right and my resto was a absoulte pain in the butt. Came with no shocks and in a very poor state. Thanks to Tamiya Era from here I managed to finish the front shocks. The small spring retainer I used was from a Frog Re re shocks. Edit. You beat me to it Kym. LOL -
The Avante Re re is a awesome buggy BUT has a few flaws. I built mine up as standard and did not like how it went on our loose track. I swapped out the kit wheels to the more modern Egress tyres and wheels which helped. The hop up steering set is a must as it's a lot less sloppy and more precise. A better servo saver set up was next and I used a 3 Racing one ( Not in pic) The Re re Hi caps are a must I feel. The Front more so as it provides better damping but more so a slightly longer throw and helps the weight balance enormously The new shocks and tower did wonders. The rear Hi Caps are very nice but not as badly needed compared to the front. Lastly the ball diffs will help but aren't really needed. Mine went really well with the worm geared diff. All up only a few sensible mods is needed.

RC10 original gold pan re-release - RCCA july 2013
MAD RACER replied to Toykid's topic in Re-Release Discussions
Yes Matt. Just finished the rolling chassis and all went well with no real problems. Very lucky me as I was expecting problems as my classic had a lot of issues. Shocks went together ok but having lots of spring rub on the rear shocks. The front are fine. I will try a new set of AE springs as the springs aren't true . Matt are you happy with yours. I think you were one of the first to get one running.?? Now onto the hardest part of the build a nice paint job -

MAD RACER replied to Toykid's topic in Re-Release Discussions
Almost completed my Worlds . It went together OK with no real issues yet. ( Shocks to go still) Tranny is all good with no problems with the slipper shaft or CVD's. -
I don't mind that Kym. Pink ??? Interesting choice. It worked on the Frog.

6 screws if you count the shocks and camber rod screws. One minute flat to do them if you have a cordless screwdriver that most people have now.

The Hotshot Mk1 restoration has started - now finished
MAD RACER replied to TamTom's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Nothing beats a Hot Shot restore. Looking good. I have a Boomer & H/S 2 waiting for a restore too. -
Yep that's Blowing up a Storm. Very nice. Awesome cars to drive too.

If you run the re re front box and internals you will be able to run Top Force uni's.

Kyosho Scorpion Re Release at Shizuoka Hobby Show !
MAD RACER replied to Blitz Supra's topic in Re-Release Discussions
Wow it's well priced. I will be getting a few no doubt. -
Losi springs , or AE springs do. That is original bore NOT big bore. I think the AE ones are right one. AE is a slightly smaller bore then the Losi Good thing about Losi & AE is the are rated so you know where you are and AE sell the springs in a complete set with the spring ratings and are pretty cheap too.

Need soft springs suitable for dt02 oil shocks
MAD RACER replied to mikef350's topic in Trade Archive
Losi original springs fit ( Not the new big bore) tamiya cva shocks and Yeah Racing silver or blue shocks. If you got 3 racing shock set for the DT02 AE original springs fit those too. You should be able to use the original CVA springs on the rear of your GH2 for your new shocks too. You do have many options it's just finding the right one -
Sport Tune motors lack Torque to push a 4wd along. I think It's even stated on the Box. Not recommended for a 4wd Try a 19T brushed motor for far better performance or better still a 13T brushless combo.

Great build Kym. I'm going start mine next week I hope. Mmm I feel I,m going to have some issues though. Still can't wait. Looking forward in seeing it all painted up.

RC10 original gold pan re-release - RCCA july 2013
MAD RACER replied to Toykid's topic in Re-Release Discussions
I will be building mine next week I say. Just hope that it goes together well.. I agree that there should be no quality issues at the price in today's world. Made in China says it all to me. BUT still happy just to have a World's to run & the chassis looks to be better finished compared to Classic. -

Well we solved the gears slipping in our TT02 buggy's with a custom made reinforcing main crown gear. BUT now the drive pinion to the crown just strips out after 3 or 4 packs & that happened to 3 of us with new internals Looks like a cross pin in the pinion is needed. After some research seems to be a common problem. Any body done the cross pin mod??? Just saw the metal gears from the DF02. We need a slipper set up. Is there something that can be modded to fit or is this a doomed buggy from birth???? Any advice would be much appreciated.
