  3. Hi I have a good condition Top Force Evo. Its all there ( Hi Caps,Body undertray, Red rims with new Top force tires, BOX. Instructions) Just wondering what the old girl would be worth. I know condition plays a big role but its not a Shelf queen but in good used condition. PLEASE give me info of the market price.. Thanks Mark..
  4. Hi Crash Cramer, Yes they are rare. I think even rarer when all together in a box. The pinions apper to be made out of steel with the teeth nu stamped on the neck. The spur gears are of good nylon material . I do know a Tamiya club member in Italy has the full set too!! I don't use them and got them with my Top Force Evo 10 yrs ago..
  5. I have a very good condition Fox complete with Vintage Accoms radio and Same era Novak speedie. Has had very little use in its life and comes with the origanal Box,(in very good condition) Tamiya 1400 battery pack. Body is still clear(never been painted) but the wing is painted. The MSC is there as well complete with resistors . Will not take much to be a show queen and will be a very good runner. Its been stored under a bed for the past 15 yrs. Just been cleaned to sell.   6. Thanks for your input crash crammer. Im still waiting for them to come in stock but they look awesome and will go well with my other blue parts for the Ray. Im sure the Manta ray will be fantastic when finished but not looking like a Top Force is my goal. Cheers Mark..
  7. Hi . I need some advice on these very rare items. What I have is a full set of RW Racing gear set to suit Manta ray, Top Force and the TA touring car. These include Spur gears 70,72,73,74,75,76,77,78, Pionions, 14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23.24,25, FINAL gears (idler) 15,16.17, and standard. Also two spur adapters. All gears are in a custom made wooden carry box that houses each gear in a cavaty,with a Rw racing gear chart. If anyone has a idea on the value as im thinking of putting it up on e bay.   8. My Super Shot and Hot Shot looks great with all the shiny screws and stickers. I have them on a shelf in my spare room. There is little to no sun light and in a dust free area. Will they still loose their new look?? I was thinking of wrapping them in bags but im not sure. I know sun light is bad for any model but is there any thing else I can do?? I have a few more kits that will be sitting with them soon. Cheers. Mark
  9. Yes James its that meeting that I would love to make. I read all vintage posts and follow what is happening with the scene. I don't post as i really can't offer much and don't want to offend anyone. What user name do go by on Rc Tech?? Im Mad racer the same as my name for tamiya club. As for my Manta Ray its by the rules and want it to reamain as a hop up Ray not a Top Force if you know what i mean. Thats why I bought a Manta Ray. Thanks for your input its been great.   10. Hi James, Im not actively involved in vintage racing yet. There is one big meeting a year here and can't make it due to my work only shuts down twice a yr and not near those dates to race. I also race 8th scale off road and have a very small budget to race on. For some reasoun im really hooked on my vintage cars and want to be able to race when the time is on my side. They are not really strict as yet but 1990 is the cut off date and Hop ups are after that date ,I want to stick to the rules. I want to maintain the tub chassis of the manta ray and run better shocks , ball diffs and better steering rack. I might be bending the rules on them. I also like the looks of the Manta Ray. I dont want to run any EVO parts either. Pitty really as I have 2 spare light weight EVO diffs waiting to be slotted in. I have a restored a Super Shot and have a Hot shot Re kit as well as a Frog and Fox. Im at the stage to start building my Ray and now have a Top Force tp build. My Evo was a runner but needs a steering rack parts (which I bought the tree from Jasons store, needs new undertray and battery hold down system) Thats why I bought the Top force kit to get all the parts to fix that as well. ARE the EVO,s worth anything as mine needs a little tlc to get it back to running condition. I do have the Box for it too. Thanks James..
  11. I got my Top Force re kit today. I can see why I should just build it and run it. It really looks great in box form. Im sad to see the garbish shocks on my Manta Ray are what in the top force kit but in black. I still want a Kicking but Manta Ray though as 1990 is the cut of yr for vintage buggies here. I love the looks of the Manta Ray as well. Looks like I will have to save for the other parts again that I was going to take out of the Top Force. I think my EVO will go on E bay soon as I really dont need 2 Top Force kits. Sorry to offend anyone and thanks to all that advised me .. Cheers Mark.
  12. It seems some people don't read my posts. I bought a RE RELEASE TOP FORCE not a original for my Re relalise Manta Ray and Origanal Top Force Evo. My Evo needs new steering cranks and undertray as wll as few other bits. I want universal shafts for my manta ray and have not seen any on e bay . As for parts TELL me where I can get new realise parts as i have not seen any shops that has them. So if the realise shocks in the Top Force are NON adjustable like my Manta Ray its no problem as i plan to get a set of Intecty DF 03 shocks when they come out ( 2 sets as the front ones only fit) So with the Top Force Re kit I can fix my EVO and have some better parts for my Manta ray. As for the Motor mount I have never had a problem with the plastic one but do have a Alloy one if needed!!!! I CAN"T SEE THE PROBLEM Its a RE REALISE kit for parts on my Manta Ray AND my EVO. Bearings arent a problem either as I have over 100 new as I bought 250 in bulk. If it was a orignal then I understand the fuss. I have no desire to build a Top Force either as I have a very good Top Force EVO.
  13. Well i bit the bullet and just bought a Top Force Re realise. TA Mark I think he ment the stock shocks in the Top Force are ok not the Rubbish ones that come with the Manta Ray or Blazing Star as they are just ****. I Will have some spares now for my Top Foce EVO whick lack origanal Spike tires and has broken steering cranks. Will have a spare shell and wing. I will be selling 2 ball diffs. I hope it comes with the Torque Splitter which helps with steering. My Top Force Evo has one. I now have adjutable turn buckles and Uni joints for the Manta Ray. I do have a Alloy motor mount but never have needed to use it but I race not bash so 5 min racing is the norm. I have used the Skline gear set in my EVO with no probles but was the larger one . I still plan to buy the intecty DF03 shocks as they look awsome and will be next on my list when they come in stock at Tower. I have a new Tekin G11 speedie that were and still are going cheap at Stormer $59 full programable. I also have a set of GPM steering hubs for it. I will start building when I get the shocks .   14. Hi . I am getting all the bits needed to build a kicking Manta Ray. I have a new in box re realisae Manta Ray, with Top Force evo front and rear Carbon Fiber shock towers. Top Force front shock bracket. A carbon prop shaft and the option S/steel shaft. Most of the bearings. Skyline speed tune gear set. Ball diffs F & R. My problem is that I want the universal shafts for the front of the Manta Ray & better shocks. The Hi Cap are too expensive for me . As for better shocks I thinking of getting 2 sets of DF03 shocks from Intecty when realised in a month or so. I can only use the fronts thats why 2 sets are needed.They will fit thanks to the advice of TA Mark. I was thinking of getting a Re realise Top Force to get the universals and adjustable turn buckles .Better steering set up too. I don't know if its ball raced?? The ball Diffs sell as well as the rest of the buggy. Does the Top Force have a Torque splitter?? I might be better of keeping the rest for spares for both. I want a really good Manta Ray and have no desire to have a Top Force . Do you think this would be a good way of getting the better parts or not??? Thanks : Mark.
  15. I have run a fox for yrs and have over 5 in my collection of runners. Since 1989 I have ever only stripped one hex joint. If you look after them they will last a long time. I do think Tamiya will re realise the Fox with dog bone rear end. Its only a matter of When.

  17. Hi can anyone tell me what happend to SRM Racing????? I bought a one way for my Optima in the late 80's and cost me around $120 here in Australia. They seemed to be really big in the 80,s like Trinity and RPM. I know they were UK based but thats all. From what I can remember they had a huge aftermarket range of parts. Thanks...
  18. With the re realise kits , Does Tamiya support them in parts if you break somthing?? I know that people strip kits down and sell on E bay. At times the parts im after aren't on e bay. Thanks..
  19. Thanks to all replies. Yes the Hot Shot is ball raced, Batteries are East power 4200. Charger is a Eagle CDC delta peak. Tranny is as free to expect from the Hot Shot. Have raced electric since the 80,s I think the Tamiya speedie that came in the kit is a real basic speedie and cant provide the grunt for the 4wd tranny. They are fine in 2wd applications . I will try my LRP Q3 speedie in it to see if that makes a difference.
  20. Hi. I now have 3 of these motors with little use on any of them. Im a little dissapointed on there performance as they really dont go much faster than a stock 540. Do they get better the more you use them ( brushes start to wear in) ???? Its ok in my Frog but not very good in my Hot Shot. Do you have to gear them high??? Thanks..
  21. Hi , Im just about to start building my re realise Manta Ray but hate the shocks it comes with. Really bad example of the CVA shock as the pistons are moulded on the shaft. I know the Top Force Hi Cap dampers will fit . They are so expensive if you can find a set. WHAT other shocks fit from Mr Tamiya. Im thinking of putting Losi Ti shafts in with Kyosho gold pistons. Im pretty sure they will fit as my Fox has Kyosho dampers in them. JUST want to know what are other guys are doing.. Thanks Mark.
  22. What Do you mean by over heating, the Motor gets really hot or the speedie or resistors are really hot???? First Take the motor out and feel if there is any bad friction in the drive train... If that is smooth and free look at the speed controller settings and make sure it is getting Full power even with a MSC you need to reach full power as it will burn up with heat... If that is all good check the motor as might have a burnt out winding inside. Connect motor to a battery and free run it. If it is arching, sparking and carring on as well as getting hot you need to replace the motor. Silver can motors are cheap or up grade it...
  23. I too wanted a Super Shot so bad.......... I ended up buying a RE realase Hot Shot to try to satisfy my hunger. I than found on e bay a Hp suspension set from the Uk . My plan was to build the Hot Shot to be almost a Super Shot as I had a new underguard and now the Hp suspension. Still not the same but when I was racing at local race meet I was talking to a racer who raced a Super Shot and still had it in storage, I managed to purchased it fot $100 or 50 pounds. It came with a Technipower motor and instructions as well. I bought a Super Shot Decal set of the Tamiya club for 50 pounds and went to work on a re build which I have posted in the vintage posts. Since I started the re build i have seen 3 Super Shots on e bay and have gone for a fair bit. Last one was a good looking Super Shot that was fully restored that went for only $170 Aus on e bay here in Australia. It even had a re built Technipower as well. I don't understand why so cheap. Jr-Rc has a Hp suspension set for purchase but is more than I paid. I now own both and can understand the hype of both. In my opinion Tamiya will never re realase the Higher performance version of that buggy as it will cost to much to include the goodies and the market would never be as big as the original that made it sought after. A good example is the Top Force and now Evo. Than again the Manta Ray was the basic Top Force but Tamiya was still producing it as the Blazing Star/ Dirt Trasher.... :
  24. Thanks .. Its now completed and looks great. Im now working on my Hot Shot and is almost finished.. We find it hard to post good pics on this site as im not a paying member.
  25. Ever seen a Option out Javlin ??? Looks so tough with the gold shocks and gold nerf bars.. Roll cage really sets it off too...
