  1. I have a EVO and am thinking of puting on E bay. What did you pay for yours??? I have box, instructions, carbon prop shaft x2, carbon fiber shock towers x2 F&R, every Rw racing spur gears , idler gears and pinions. as well as a Technigold motor with box.
  2. I have a Top Force Evo too. I got the box as well and it has every rw racing spur gear and pinions with different idler gears too. I have a carbon fiber prop shaft as well. I custom made a set of carbon fiber shock towers and a spare set just in case. I raced it 2 yrs ago at the N.S.W state titles in 19t. It was so quick and went really well except it didnt like the big jumps. I just rolled over them, the others jumped them and most broke there car or on the lid. I qualified 5th , A motor change for the finals and came 2nd in final 1,2 and 3. I managed to get along side the fastest BJ4 along the huge straight but he had the inside line. I than made a small mistake from pushing to hard but was rapt in 2nd overall. In stock or 19t they are still very competive.
  3. Can any one tell me where I can get some Frog steering King pin bolts that hold the steering knuckle on the castor block. I lost one when i raced her last but I thought I had some somwhere but cant finf them.. Thanks Mark..
  4. It made a big difference to the turn in and is sharper in response. Took a lot of time to figure the angle and how to mount them. I was surprised at how good these dampers worked with the stock springs. I did have to drill the solid brass pistons out as it was so stiff. I have seen them on other Frogs but are rare. I would like to know if I mounted the correct .
  5. Hi. Here are some photos of my modified shocks for the Frog. You can also see my cut down modified losi x2000's rear tyres on fox rims. Rear shocks are Schumacher Cat 3000 front shocks and the front shocks are You G or Parma front dampers.
  6. I fitted a pair of You G or parma front dampers to my Frog with a little work. They have a cross over oil line to them. I also drilled the dampers out has they were solid. It made a huge difference to the handling of the Frog and turned so much better. I than mounted up a set of Schumacher Cat 3000 front shocks with yellow springs to the rear of it. The lenghth was perfect and gave the frog so much more rear traction. With these mods to the suspension, a pair of cut down Losi X 2000 on Fox rear rims and wide ribs with fox front rims my frog was on pace with the lower group of drivers from my track with todays losi and B4's in stock. Every one was amazed at how well this Frog went and never seen a vintage buggy or even seen one go. It was very good to drive and had good speed as its so light.. Cheers...Mark.
  7. Just finished building my new re realise Hot Shot. I did everything as the instructions said but after dialing max steering throw and max the end points out on my radio i have very little lock on one side but yhe other side is good. Have I done something wrong??? I did center the servo and all settings before installing the servo.. Thanks for any help...
  8. I sold my gold set just before X mass on E bay and i think they went to Germany. They werent in a packet but were new and i stated that there was flaking on the edges. I didnt get a lot for them but i was honest about it. It would of been really hard to pick the flaking in the photos . I than wrapped them in tissue paper seperatly, He must of been happy as he gave me good feed back..
  9. The Kyosho Optima range had the same tyres front and rear too. I did use both tyres types on the optima and Mid and found better grip with the fater tyres.
  10. The Spa 480 was a newer version of the 480 gold. I raced them a lot back then. They were the first motors i think that had a new process of "wet pressed magnets". They were reported to have better acceleration and higher top speed. Really was not much better than the 480 Gold even though it had one less turn. I than tried the Technigold when it came out and was a better motor..
  11. I have a tamiya F1 with every hop up part you can get. I bought it with a heap of other gear. It has a new shell in box and says Ferrari F1 412 t1 . Is this a rare shell ??? I also got a saddle pack chassis from CRC i think for it.. Thanks for any help...
  12. The "E" stands for Economey. Not a big drain on batteries. The 600 E was a 30 turn motor. 480 Gold is a 25x4, Spa 480 24x4, Spa 240 18x2.
  13. I started with a Brat than updated it to a Frog with Fox shocks in 1985. I used to just bash with my mate who had a Hornet. I started competitive racing in 1987 and it was a big decision to buy a new Super Shot or a Turbo Optima. It took months to decide but i ended up buying a Turbo Optima and started my racing with it. At my track (first time racing) during pratice i saw a guy on the drivers stand with a very well sorted Super Shot that he raced the year before. I said, "That thing is a jet!" He had a Kyosho Le Mans 480 Gold stapped in it. Back then we raced mod only. At this track they also raced 8th scale so it was a big track with a huge straight. Well my Turbo Optima was ok to start off with but my mates (optima too) and I were blown into the weeds so much we didnt know what to do. What buggy was this?? My mate was not sure but it was so quiet and you could here a distintive clunk at half speed and it shot off like a rocket. We soon found out that this thing had a 2 speed auto gearbox and a single belt drive. It was called a PB Mini Mustang and within months everyone had one. Even the Super Shot driver swapped to it. I was the only Optima or different brand out there. It was not a reliable buggy at all and kept falling apart almost every race. Looking back i wished i had bought a Super Shot instead but i was stuck with it. For the next year racing i ordered a Optima Mid and put togeather a whole new package with help from a local hobby shop. I also worked 6 days a week (radio, batteries, motor, peak charger, KO CX1 speedie and a heap of R & D over the X'mas break. My racing was far better but could not match these Mini Mustangs in outright speed on our very big straight. I kept trying different motors but was still coming 5th or 4th to a 18 + Mini mustangs. I then came across a Technigold and the specs read lower on rpm to my Kyosho Spa 480 but when bolted in, it was a screamer. We raced for 6 min on 1200mah batteries, not 5. The Tamiya technigold was such a good motor I bought 2 more and they went on to power my Mid to 2nd in that years state titles . I think Tamiyas buggys are always good and do exactly what they were designed for. The Super Shot to me, at the time, was the best overall package. That is why i bought a re released Hot Shot and got the HP suspension kit for it. I also restored a PB Mini Mustang with the 2 speed. I hated that buggy so much i never thought i would own one LOL.
  14. The Big Wig was put out to run in unlimted class of 8.4 volts. Came with the Technigold motor and with the gold pack was a awsome package. The problem was the Big wig was not a very competive buggy at the time in 7.2 volt class. I really never saw any in competition but im sure it was a good buggy..
  15. My mate saw a article in Rc Driver of a new option shocks for the Frog re realise like the CVD,s they put out.
  16. Is it true that Tamiya have relised some optional Frog Front shocks??? Thanks.
  17. Does the Top Force Evo come with light weight diffs. My mates Top Force has light weight diffs and are half the weight of a standard ball diff. He also has the full range RW racing spurs, idler gears and pinions. Also a carbon fiber drive shaft with dog bone ends and matching cups. Is this rare itiems and are the diffs after market.. Thanks ..
