  1. @retro: Put some Monster Beetle tires (or some thing the same size) an a motor like 540VZ and you have a lot of fun and even more challange ;) See my Midnight in the Showroom (sorry that it had King Blackfoot tires when I took the photos - some years ago it had the plated Monster Beetle wheels, that looked a lot better).[xx(]
  2. Yes, you are right. I lived some years in Venezuela (Dad worked there) and we had 2 LandCruiser BJ42. It was the first car I was allowed to "drive". I was seven years old and my dad let me sit on his knees and steer (he did thorttle and brakes of course). The thing I liked the most was off-roading after a day at the beach (near Gran Savana). I still get a bad conscience when thinking about all the little trees I ran over [}] Boy, what would I give for a 3speeder with that body[|)] By the way, I have an old Nico Land Cruiser (without roof).
  3. A nice (stadium) truck to run? -> King Cab and Toyota Hilux - but I think it is difficult to get new ones. I still run my Toyota Hilux (I like the body more than the King Cab one because it is "wider"). It is fully ballraced an has old Monster Beetle tyres, fully ballraced with Tamiya Dynatech 01R. This truck is imho durable (chassis, body). Some people have problems with the gearbox, mine works fine.
  4. Blackfoot, Super Blackfoot or King Blackfoot [?]
  5. Anybody got a partsnumber for Carson shocks that will fit the Super Blackfoot [:I]
  6. A nice idea to arrange a little meeting. [^] I am from Germany too, from Moers that is 35 kms from Düsseldorf and 37 kms form the Netherlands (Venlo - Provinz Limburg).
  7. Can you tell me which Carson Shocks I should look for (length or parts number)? Yesterday I put in the Mabuchí rx540vz (Technigold). I liked the performance but I am not sure if it is the right motor for Super Blackfoot? Which do you use for your Super Blackfoot?[?]
  8. Hi folks. This morning my new ebay-purchased Super Blackfoot was delivered by the postman. I am really happy because I wanted to have this model for a long time (the most similar car that I have is a Monster Beetle, Midnight Pumpkin and a Toyota Monster Racer). In my eyes the condition is very good. The spikes on the tires are not worn out. The body has only a few scratches an wasn't even painted. First I did was correct some mistakes the original owner made when he built the truck (shock mount position was wrong and so on). Now I did the usual stuff. I dismanteld the car an re-built it "the right" way (new grease for the gearbox etc). Problem: The original shocks are really terrible. Even my Midnight Pumpkin with cva oil shocks has a better handling. Can you recommend me some sort of shocks besides the CVA Tamiya shocks (maybe in Germany)? I have seen a Super Black Foot with "EGREES" titanium or graphite (?)shocks. These shocks are superb but really way to expansive for my budget. Thank you []
  9. What is this? A Pajerco XC that is able to swim. [] Wow! Crazy Tamiya I would say.[xx(] Look at the other pics. http://www.tamiya.com/japan/rc/kaizou/010pajero/pajero.htm

(10megs) Then I scanned thema with 600dpi and saved them as jpg. (27megs) Then I scanned thema with 300dpi and saved thema as jpg. (3,6megs) Is 600dpi and tiff format really required - i am running out of discspace.
  11. I got a Hot Shot I - but I lost it, sorry. I think you are right. Hot Shock looks cool only from one or two angles. But I know uglier vintage Tamiya cars. [8D] Now i still own a Hot Shot II , ballbearings, tamiya ESC, Tamiya hop-up wing (spoiler). I drove that car with 8,4volts and a Mabuchi RX540VZ (aka Technigold???). Well, it was really nice. But the tieres wear off in no time [] Then I tried my Dynatech that I usually use with my Hilux(KingCab clone) ........ what should I say, to much for this car. [8)] I tried the Dynatech with my Midnight Pumpkin as well and 8,4volts.... forget it. It is undriveable. Finally the Dynatech got back to where it belongs, Toyota Hilux Monster Racer
  12. @UrbanWarrior: []Do you have a picture where I can what you did? Someone told me to use the coil springs of a ball-pen (Kugelschreiber in german). But I am not sure how this should work. [V] @Shodog: I have seen your Lunch Box. Great design, I love it. Where can I buy that nice tms aluminium wheels? Tower?
  13. @Bholio: Funny. I just passed by at one of my dealers today. AND HE HAD A NIB 1980s Pajero Body id="red">We did not talk about prices.[:I] I passed by with my Midnight because i wanted to buy the same colour I used when I restored it a couple of years ago. Then I asked him if he could get an old Parma Copy of the Lunchbox or Midnight for runnig ......... and then he showed the old Pajero Body to me. Looks great on my Midnight Pumpkin. What would be a fair price for the 80s Pajero Body (NIB with decals windows and so on). @DJ THEO and SHODOG: I am looking for a XC Pajero/Montero, maybe I would prefer the Wrangler but my parents have a Pajero ... thats why I want a Pajero. Altough I do like the CR-V, Wranger and Mu aswell. Did I get this right? XB and XC are the same ? The only difference lies in the shocks? XC has oil shocks and hard plastic bodies instead whereas the XB has a silver Pajero lexan body ? I do not see more differences. If that is so then I will concentrate my search on an XB and later upgrade the shocks and buy a nice NIB Body for the vitrine. Anyways I would not like to run the car with the nice and realistichard plastic body. I can see it on my Midnight, I restored it and bought a new Body and forgot to buy a lexan body in case I wanted to race it after restauration. And now it has scratches EDIT: I think it is decided. I will try to buy the 1984 Pajero Body (#548044) at a reasonable price (i am still a student). I really love the realistic hard plastic bodys and maybe it is just the beginning to a 1984 Pajero restauration. Moreover the main chassis are the same (Pumpkin and Pajero) so there must be a way to build body mounts. id="size1">
  14. Well - I would be happy if they release something that looks quite like the Bruiser (or Mounty) with a lader frame and some other realistic features. Wild Willy 2 is ok for me altough there are many differences to WW1. I have always wanted a WW 1 and always dreamt of a 3Speed but the prices are horrible (I refer to used Models not NIB). Now it is quite possible that I will buy a NIB WW2 (by the way how much should I pay in Germany for it?). It think it would not be fair to re-release a 1:1 Bruiser as this car has gained a collector status. Imho the XR311 has not half the attraction to buyers compared with Bruiser or Mounty. They could also re-release a sonic figther (nothing against it) the effect would be the same -> no buyer.
  15. Since my parents moved to South America for the winter I rediscovered my love for trucks. Ok I now the Mitsubishi Pajero is not what most US think about when talking about a truck Anyway , my parents got a Pajero and since my father is retired I thought of buying a Pajero for him (and of course for me ) so that we could drive together someday. Now I need to know some facts about the Pajero: Does it roll over easyly? Do the body mounts break fast (like Lunchbox or Midnight Pumpkin)? How fast is this car? What would be a fair price for a runner in a good condition (and so on)? Easy to get spar parts? [^]Thanks for your help Did I forget anything?
  16. @Roby: I tried the link but it did not work. If you want me to send you the Golf V5 Decals for your database please give me an email adress. (Which resolution and format do you prefer)
  17. @Bholio: I searched the tower hobbies page yesterday and found the pumpkin body, bad luck of mine that it is not available anymore. A friend of mine has a (wrecked) Lunchbox. I am sure he would like to buy a Lunchbox or Midnight Pumpkin Body too. @Shodog: I think my combo is really great for a fun car. I love it. Fully ballraced, oil shocks, ESC and the RX540VZ. [] My Pumpkin really rocks and if you know how to drive it it does not roll over. Of course it wheelies all the time if I am not cautios with the throttle.
  18. Where Is the database? I have the Golf IV V5 decals and will scan them before using them.
  19. Hot Shot II - it is ready to run - needs ne decals and new paint Monster Beetle - almost ready - needs new decals, 2 gold rims and wheels Midnight Pumpkin - ready - maybe new decals Toyota Monster Racer (similar to King Cab) - want new body - runs great Golf IV V5 - ready - need to paint the 2nd body and apply decals I lost my Hot Shot I over the years. As far as i can remember i sold it to a frind of mine 12 years ago or so.[V]
  20. So ? Is it possible to buy Lunchbox or Midnight Pumpkin Bodies
  21. Altough I never owned one the frog was one of the first real rc cars that I saw in a race. Around '84 there were a lot of people who raced their Tamiyas at a big park near in my city. There were Ascona, Audi Quattro, Subaru Brat, Frog and later Wild Ones and Monster Beetles .... and of course a lot of Willies. Thats the time when I got my first real RC Car the Hot Shot I. To my the Frog means a lot because without it there were no Monster Beetles []
  22. Well, my Pumpkin still does short wheelies. I am not sure if there is a wheelie difference with or without the body. (of course it runs better without the body) Thank you for the link, maybe I ll ask a frind of mine who lives in the US if he could send me the parts (or I will try to make new springs on my own). When the Pumpkin was new it did wheelies all the time. I just had to accelerate. Since it has oil shocks it is more difficult to do wheelies. It works best the way you discribe it (roll backward slowly and accelerate). EDIT: Do you now a good looking lexan body for running ( I don't want to damage the original one). It has to be 53 Ford F100 or sth that looks like the Vannessa's Lunchbox Body.[^]
  23. Hi ! I have an old Monster Beetle which I started to restroe about 6 years ago. Since then i haven't touched it. Most of the parts are new (frame, wheels etc) I still need: new gearbox parts new body (the mudguards broke) 2 wheels (and maybe rims) Now I am not sure what to do. I have seen that the Super Blackfoot's gearbox is much more durable than the original one and I ever wanted to have a Blackfoot cause I really liked the body. Should I try to buy a Super Blackfoot and combine the new gearbox with my old Monster Beetle. Or should I try to find a new Beetle Body and restore my Monster Beetle. g
  24. I love this car. I bought my Midnight Pumpkin when I was still a kid and I played so much with it that I had to restore it. So, when I tought I'll never play again with RC Cars I restored my Midnight because I wanted to keep it forever (I wanted to sell all my other cars). Well, what I want to say is that i can hardly remember any part on my MP that is still original. I think apart from the tyres I replaced everypart (Chassis, Gear(box), Body, Rims, .... anything). BUT ....... there is one thing I hate about this car: PART: BR4 -> Axle spring Look at manual 58070 for Midnight Pumpkin -> Page 9 Step 16 This spring wears out very quick. [] My Midnight Pumpkin has full ballbearings, ESC, Mabuchi RS540VZ, working head and tail lights, oil shocks. For almost 4 years after i restored it my MP stood only in the vitrine but since 2 years I started running it again. Please help me. What can I do to replace the axle spring. I think my MP is not able to do nice wheelies anymore because the spring is missing. [8)]
