  1. Thanks for the info. I`ve some upgraded shocks to put on already but the improved drive train sounds useful..!! Cheers, Guy.
  2. Hi, more Q`s from a returning Tamiya fan..!! I`ve both an original Holiday Buggy and a re re version. Comparing the 2 there seems to be nothing that they share other than the silhouette. Also have an original Blackfoot and am looking for a few parts. I`m interested to know how many parts are interchangeable from the re re Blackfoot, from pictures they look very similar. Cheers, Guy.
  3. Many thanks for the help folks, progress can be made. :-)
  4. Hi, that sounds perfect thanks. Same question for my Blackfoot which will run the same battery but has a Tamiya Super Stock BZ 23T Motor. Cheers, Guy.
  5. Thanks for the reply, more questions I`m afraid... Back in the day with the mechanical speed controller you could lock wheels by putting it into reverse, do ESC`s allow such shenanigans on the slippery stuff?? Thanks. :-)
  6. Many thanks. Just checked and it a 2S so will search ebay for said alarm. Also have an original Blackfoot that I want to get up and running. It will be using the same Zippy 4000 Li-Po and already has a Tamiya Super Stock 23T BZ motor fitted. My question is what esc would suit this combination?? It will be used purely for fun (i.e racing the grandkids...) so doesn't have to be anything trick. Many thanks, Guy.
  7. I'm not sure where to start but here goes..!! Have a re-release Holiday Buggy that I've assembled and am looking to seeing it in action. Other than uprated bearings it is 100% original inc the 380 motor. Knocking around from my youth I've an Eco20 esc. Battery wise I've a couple of 7.2v NICADS, one 1500mah and the other 1700MAH along with a trickle charger. Also have a ZIPPY 4000 LI-PO and SKYRC imax B6AC version 2 charger/discharge. Am pretty sure(ish) that the NICADS and esc would would together but would the LI-PO also work with the esc?? Am just looking for a long running time as it is for my Grandkids to enjoy though I'm looking to enjoy it myself..!! Thanks, Guy.

  9. Hi, I`m building up a 2010 Holiday Buggy and am unsure what would be a good battery/charger combo for long running duration? Only deviation from standard will be a Hobbywing 1060 esc. Did have an original Holiday Buggy 30+ years ago and that would last up to 30 mins on a 6v ni-cad battery pack, what can I expect now !! Thanks, Guy.
  10. Thanks :-) Am happy to cut and solder just not exactly sure what I need to order :-0 I sounds like a poet, innit..:-)
  11. Soooo, after much head scratching, and a reminding kick from her indoors that xmas is fast approaching, I`m swayed by the Lipo option. Staying nearly within budget I`m thinking as follows: 1 X IMAX B6AC V2 2 X ZIPPY 4000mAh 2S1P 25C 1 X HOBBYKING LIPOLY LOW VOLTAGE ALARM. My only concern is that the ESC has a Tamiya connector which doesn`t match up with the battery so will require modification. Could I ask for a final bit of help with this issue please !! Thanks for all the help and suggestions you`ve given me, its much appreciated. Guy.
  12. Yes, the Blackfoot takes the normal battery stick pack. I`m not sure what voltage and battery style the ESC is safe for. It is easily 5+ years old, perhaps nearer 7-8 years and the instructions are long gone....:-(
  13. And thanks Jamesssb. Didn`t know you could get 5000 rated packs. Not too worried about charge times as long as it stays within budget !!
  14. Thanks for the reply Nobbi. TBH I really have little idea just that my budget is £50 or less as it will be a xmas present from my wife. A long running time is the priority. My first R/C car was a Tamiya Holiday Buggy with a 6v Ni-Cad and RS380 motor, lasted 30-40 minutes on tarmac. Seems things have moved on.... Cheers.
