  1. Darn it, Amain already grayed out their order button. Tower won’t even go there .. so I ordered from AE direct.
  2. I didn’t mind the old SAL service. Used it for items I was in no rush to receive. Took 2-4 weeks but was dirt cheap. 4 years post covid however there still is no sal. Instead registered airmail that costs $5-8 less than Fed Ex /DHL. Was again ok with it for a week and half. But not this
  3. I used this airmail 2 other times and received in a week and half. This time however was a disaster
  4. My first odd experience with PJ Placed an order at PJ on March 11th. They shipped on March 19th via Japan Registered Airmail. March 20th it left Japan. For the next 20 days tracking had zero updates. I message PJ to open a claim. They initially told me that it would take up to 8 weeks. This made me mad as it’s supposed to take 5-14 days per Japan Post. So I told them to open a claim. Last night I finally received an update. It arrived in NY Customs. It bypassed the entire west coast of US and arrived in NY? 🤦🏻
  5. I wish TamiyaUSA would have an actual sale section link. Otherwise its a scavenger hunt to find the items they decided to mark down
  6. That's 50% off.. that usually means discontinuation. I wish they had a section that clearly marked sale items
  7. Just read through this thread will add my minimal knowledge for carpet racing. Most brands such as AE, Losi etc release their indoor carpet specific kits without a slipper! My recommendation would be something a bit more current 1. TD2 2. BBX otherwise see if you can get your hands on a TRF201 or DN01.
  8. I like him a lot and got along with him quite well. I messaged on IG yesterday and told him we miss him.
  9. I DM's him a while ago on instagram, he never responded.
  10. No. They will not fit the wheels
  11. The Japanese date is more accurate. Nuremberg releases hit market in May. March date is not reliable
  12. Frequent question that is asked on TC is can the SRB handle a more powerful motor. I propose a new question, can a more powerful motor handle the awesomeness of the SRB. The answer is NO 🤣 My SRB has ruthlessly murdered 2 sport tune motors and her latest victim was a team brood 13 turn black can motor. This motor is designed for crawlers so it was the built in fan. That still did not stop my SRB from taking its life. 😉 The method of death, was heat. The first 2 sport tune had the rear plastic cover on, so I assumed that caused things to become very toasty. On both, one of the brushes broke off and melted itself into the plastic end bell. With the teambrood motor, I left the rear cover off so that the fan could do its job. The motor survived the first pack at the beach on the first day. It nearly survived the second pack on the following day as it was near voltage cuff off when the motor quit. The destruction however was much more severe. Like the sport tune one brush broke off embedded itself in the plastic end bell. The second was surrounded by a gooey mess of plastic / what was left of the fan. All of the armature copper were covered with black soot. The heat was also sufficient that the enamel paint on the can can easily be scrapped off. The ESC was not very warm, so it was not working very hard or being overloaded. I have pictures to post, unfortunately this site remains challenged with respect to attachments. I keep receiving an error message, or unrecognised and reach kb limited when there is no attachment.
  13. Agree 100%. They dug a whole for themselves and doubled down and keep digging further. Protectionist strategy doesn’t work out in the long run. Eg Tower coupons enabled me to buy 2 kits versus one. No coupons from Tower, means we will shop elsewhere, eg Amain. Cut out their small coupon as well.. means you could lose me entirely.
  14. True but majority offset the price with lofty shipping prices.
  15. This is TamiyaUSA’s work. The member coupons brings the price well below Tamiya MAP. So they most likely told Tower to exclude them going forward. Amains coupon discounts are 10% and cap out at $25 ($250) Personally believe TamiyaUSA’s sales have declined year after year and and to offset, they’ve implemented an MAP, stopped Japanese sites from international shipments outside of Japan and now have done away with discounts. They should just bite the bullet and start offering everything on their US site and MAP and call it a day.
  16. They’re the o-rings that came with older TRF dampers.. and can be found in 53574 rebuild kit
  17. The YR dampers are awesome and their clear o-ring is pretty darn good as well. I personally stick with the original shock gear and avoid their big bores, due to spring options for their big bores. I wanted to use the big bores for rallye purpose. The springs that come with it are great for road but too stiff for Rallye. I searched for softer options and came up empty. Majority of big bore springs are short or super short. So I ended up buying another 55 mm shock gear
  18. You forced my hand into placing a new Plaza Japan order due to these big bore shocks 😭😢🤦🏻
  19. Plaza has always been this way, they’re slow to list parts for new products. Can take anywhere from 6 months to a year for them to add it. Don’t have banzai fears just yet, they restocked a lot parts recently.. special those super stock motors, they were out of stock for months. I too placed an order last week after someone on here posted the off-road TRF big bores were around $35.. couldn’t help myself and ordered them for my BBX and used the coupon to save $8 lol. Order has yet to ship though
  20. the WHOLE lot of them. We have tried them all, even shimmed them. They are problematic.
  21. The best orings from Tamiya to date remain the clear ones found in 53574 packs. Never understood why Tamiya didn’t make these available by themselves. Stay far and clear from Tamiya the blue O-rings or x-Rings. They leak profusely. I tried everything to make them work in my TRF cars I compete with and eventually gave up. Next option would be Axon soft P3 black o ring. Axon is now considered the top make of dampers for 1/10 rc. https://www.mibosport.com/en/axon-black-silicon-ring-p3-soft-8pcs?bbSetCurrency=GBP&bbResetZone=1
  22. tower members now get a default 15% off, before coupons were close to 20% off. This now excludes Tamiya.. but does apply to Kyosho.
