Woohoo!!! I think I made a good purchase with this ebay auction! I got the truck pictured below and it came with the following: * thorp dirt burner transmission * thorp slider axles * thorp clamping hubs * crp rear skid plate * crp rear bumper * ball bearings all around * aluminum shocks * novak esc (forward only, need to change this) * parma body Once I get the parts I want off of this truck I'll eventually have a rolling chassis up for sale... Now all I'll need is a new motor and a new esc! woohoo!

just getting back into this r/c stuff to restore my old Blackfoot.came across this old post and thought I'd add my little tidbits of observations. I can't compare my old Blackfoot or Super Blackfoot to the new Blackfoot Extreme. But, Jim's right. the differences between the Blackfoot and the Super Blackfoot were like night and day. I can only imagine the difference between the the two old Blackfoots and the newest version. BTW, I just got both of them running this past weekend. The old Blackfoot I had from when I was younger (which was about 20yrs ago). the Super Blackfoot I just got off of ebay. On both trucks I've replaced or added, tamiya CVA shocks, venom 21t motor, esc, and just rebuilt each of the gear boxes. What strikes me is the difference in the steering between these two old trucks. the SBF seems to oversteer all the time. and the front wheels on the SBF seem to always lift off the ground when I first accelerate hard. The BF is the complete opposite. understeers all the time and I think it's just alittle bit faster than the SBF? I dunno. I haven't had a chance to run the two against each other yet.

hello all... quick question, will the WW2 wheels fit the Super Blackfoot? Especially the front wheels? BTW, I H-A-T-E the stupid plastic hex adapter on the rears. I can't get the thing OUT of the rear wheel! any ideas?

just curious... why do you prefer Tamiya over Losi?

what's the difference in gear ratio's anyways? I always thought that the internal gears for those trannies were the same and that just the motor pinion was different?

okay, I saw that one of the member albums that had a billet chassis for their blackfoot. Supposedly this was made by www.esphobby.com so I sent them an email. Here's their response and of course my reply. Just in case anyone was interested... --------------- Dear Eric, you really know how to depress an old guy like me! I'm really bummed. That was one beautiful idea you had. Now that all of us ole'30+yr olds are starting to regress I'm sure that this news will really depress the rest of the old guys who have rediscovered their old blackfeet (... wait.. what's the plural of blackfoot?). It's a shame that us old guys don't have the option of getting a superior "NEW" replacement chassis. I spending way too much money on eBay trying to repair my old stuff only to break it when I'm bashing the little guy around. oh and what is everyone using for a "car stand" so that the tires don't get the usual "flat spot" on them? Just to be cost effective I was thinking about getting some PVC drainage tubing maybe 3-4" in diameter so that I can cut them to varying heights to keep the tires from developing the flat spots. Here's something silly... How about using automotive products? Like tire protectant for the tires and maybe actually waxing the paint on the older plastic bodied tamiya models (i.e. the original Blackfoot?).
