  1. Finally!!! Here's the result of my long tinkering... http://www.ymr.no/10orTip8.htm
  2. LOL! Welcome to TC! Yeah, that ebay is a very, very dangerous place! I, like you guys, spent countless hours in the 80s looking at those marvellous box art boxes at the LHS with watering eyes... Never thought I'd see a Holiday Buggy again... but there it was on the bay... At first settled with that. But I've been writing on my "Model car history" since 2000, and when I was googling for pics of the Kyosho Progress (which I also had as a kid), I found that I could actually buy one "NIB"!!! I was totally caught by surprise... I can what??? 20 years later!!! It's still a big mystery to me how someone can trace those old NIB kits! After that it totally took off, I think I bought at least 20 cars the first autumn... and I'm now counting 65... But boy is it satisfying!!! And then you also have all those re-releases, I can't express fully what a great thing that is! Tamiya is just one of a kind! Good luck to all of you!
  3. Thx! What's his ebay ID? (seller ID)
  4. I've only painted lexan shells, not these plastic ones (SRB) before. And for lexan the Bob Dively liquid mask makes the job 100 times easier and better, I just love it! So, does the same go for these plastic shells? There's so much hassle with masking tape!... not very flexible, bleeding, leftover glue etc...
  5. Off topic, but can anyone please give us a quick explanation as to kit numbers? Seems to me like re-releases are given kit numbers a bit randomly... (use up vacant numbers?) And is it so that only some of them are also labelled "re-release"??? (if it's written elsewhere a link is fine)
  6. I'd be willing to pay money to get that one in english!!! Do they ever get their streams translated?
  7. Agreed! Even though a Kyosho Optima would give it a good hiding...
  8. If possible it would have been great if you could easily "sort out" all the re-release kits.
  9. Is that painted aluminium or some kind of plastic material you've used there for the shock mount etc?
  10. Brilliant work! I really like the "resto Cal" look= low, moon caps, two colour, no door handles etc (clean look), roofwhatsitcalled with an old suitcase
  11. Is it only me? Do I get banned now? Have a great weekend crazy people!
  12. Very true, but they've made some great cars too! Very much high-priced performers, but some also had "sex appeal" like the Scorpion or Tomahawk for instance! Tamiya is very special as to what they were able to do as to popularity, no other manufacturer has made as many fun/crazy/cool creations as they have. But there were also other "icons" that would be great to have brought back to life, so they could be run again! But I guess Kyosho would be the only manufacturer still up & running, that also has enough classics to choose from? (Nichimo, Marui, AYK etc. are all gone...) AE would have nothing but the classic RC10 gold tub... I guess Yokomo have nothing special either... Maybe the Dog Fighter though? Sorry for diverting a bit from the main topic here. But while we still wait...
  13. Thx! No rush! And I'd prefer not using Youtube. Tried also to link to my own web page, didn't work either.
  14. Christmas came early this year!!! Now I just know that sooner or later we will also get our hands on a NIB 3-speed also... I'll have at least two of this beast first! If they can reproduce all the metal bits (SRB), why not the Technigold? And why haven't Kyosho started re-releasing??? Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is it so that Tamiya sort of planned ahead in time to do future re-releases? Whilst the other manufacturers never thought of that, and threw away the old molds etc?
  15. We need an insider from Japan to spill the beans here!
  16. Coffee promo??? >> explain please!
  17. OK, here's what I do: I try to upload from H:\Privat\RC\TamiyaClub - My Rides\ReRe Hotshot BAR Honda 2008\RC Channel Anti Bump Steer Kit\BumpSteer.AVI Size: 2108 KB Click "upload": "Sending request to www.tamiyaclubmovies.com..." at the status bar Now I'm just getting a white page + "done" at the status bar (got an error message before)
  18. If you haven't seen the TopGear test of the old Countach, look it up on YouTube! Big fun! "The floor gets burning hot, and there's an alarming smell of petrol..." But boy is it an icon! Guys, keep in mind that gear diffs are the "new fashion" now. One of the most innovative 1:10 OR cars at the moment, the DEX410 from Durango, sports gear diffs front and rear (with oil sealed inside). The light LiPos justify this extra weight added. And it works like a charm! You can then also adjust the hardness of the diff by changing the oil viscosity. Also some touring cars use gear diffs. We see this coming more and more in 1:10 OR, so ball diffs are not really necessary. Personally I just hate them. So much work to sand down & clean, break-in... and after a short while they must be rebuilt again! And especially now with more and more 100% astro high grip tracks and the massive power from brushless & LiPo = very hard life for the ball diffs! So gear diffs any day for me please! (4WD, not 2WD - there you'll still need ball diffs on slippery/med grip surface) My wish would therefore be modernized gear diffs!
  19. You don't say!!! With even the softest B4 front springs, it's way WAY too stiff in the front! :-D Really like your solution there! Is that front tower still possible to find? What should I search for?
  20. I cannot personally prove this, I just found out myself yesterday on here: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?...=59316&st=0 But I see no reason why that might not be true. Hopefully someone has more info on this.
  21. LOL! When you look at the suspension with an uncountable number of rods & stuff... pick one! Didn't it finish 7th at the Worlds back in the day? So undriveable it could not have been...
  22. Sweet! Tell more about this car! How did you do that mod with the front shock tower and shocks? Here's mine: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...0&sid=22039
  23. I'm still having problems with this. Both when I try to upload from a PC, or link from my own web page... error either way... Are anyone trying to solve the problem?
