wolfdogstinkus replied to macmeniac's topic in Re-Release Discussions
Would it help if we all e-mail Tamiya USA and keep asking for the Scorcher? I have a few times but only had an automated response so far. -

wolfdogstinkus replied to blackdogbro's topic in Re-Release Discussions
I just asked Tamiya USA if they will re-release the scorcher,...here is their reply,.. Dear Tamiya Customer, Unfortunately we at Tamiya America don't have that information, all of Tamiya's decisions regarding development and planning for new releases and"re-releases" are made at Tamiya Inc. in Japan and are posted on their sitefirst. If you would like to see the products that Tamiya is planning to release, please go to: http://www.tamiya.com/english/e-home.htm Tamiya AmericaCustomer Service Maybe if enough people ask? -
58441 Rough Rider "Buggy Champ" Re-release
wolfdogstinkus replied to blackdogbro's topic in Re-Release Discussions
The prominent figure of the R/C car boom was the Buggy Champ which was first released in 1979. Tamiya is now proud to re-release the Buggy Champ to celebrate the car's 30thyear anniversary. The chassis has been finely tuned while maintaining the original features of the chassis such as the unique front double trailing arms and rear torsion suspension.R/C fans' hearts will definitely race when they see the nostalgic form and relive the dynamic performance of this machine. This is a 1/10 R/C assembly kit. Length: 400mm-Full ball bearings. ESC and type 540 motor included. Comes loaded with many top quality parts for improved performance such as: *A duralumin plate reinforced 2mm thick FRP main frame. *Die-cast front and rear suspension arms, front axle, and wheel hubs have been newlydesigned for this re-release. *Clear transparent waterproof case protects the R/C mechanisms. *Reinforced front uprights. *Redesigned oil dampers. Comes in the same original blister pack style packaging. White plastic easy-to-paint body included. Can be used with separately available LF1100-6.6V Racing Pack (Item 55105) which isspecifically made for this machine. From the Tamiya American site, (apologies if all-ready posted) -

Why EMPI?, I know who EMPI is I have a few EMPI parts on my 1:1 car, but why do Tamiya need licence from EMPI as well as VW? and also as it's not actually called a VW, do they need a licence for it? I might be tempted to buy a RR and fit a blitzer shell. -

Fixed again, found the broken piece of the body mount and glued it back on, I should have shares in superglue and nicked the front wheels from my QD beetle Bits replaced so far,... Chassis, D parts E parts and front wheels Not bad, I have been abusing this truck for a few years now. -
Here's what it looks like now!, very bad paint job and nice new wheels.
-
I have a blitzer for sale!, also have the original tamiya body and decals. Interested? Clicky It's had a paint job since those pics and new wheels but I still have the orange wheels, can put up more pics if you are interested

Mostly I just run it in the garden which is full of holes thanks to my dog, The chassis is fixed now(well new), I just took it out a minute ago and the wheel broke again and also a body mount, time for two new front wheels now!. Maybe I need a bigger bumper, or a better driver , the gardens not really big enough to run it but I do try. -

Yes pogo sticks, the cva's I had were from the rear of a Falcon and were a bit long for the pumpkin, I was just checking out all your mods earlier and your back yard track is so cool, I wish my back garden was bigger, but I have a big dog that likes to dig holes so I could never keep a track in as good condition as yours, yes the motor really makes the pumpkin shift and still working with the original tamiya ESC( I guess I got lucky with that) I may think about more mods to the pumpkin, but it's all about the money, or lack of at the moment! -

Which bit did you mean?, on the rear? I am actually back to the standard shocks at the moment with the 3rd shock as well, and a 19*2 peak racing motor has replaced the rubbish ansmann motor that is pictured. -

Thanks for that, I had a lunchbox as a kid and I don't remember it breaking as often as this pumpkin does, but only had a silver can back then. -
