I am really intrigued by the Clod Buster now.

Those 4WD rallye cars are cool as well, but for my bumpy garden a Monster Truck would probably make more sense.

Some say that the Clodbuster is so powerful that when you push the throttle, it doesn't travel forwards, it actually pushes the world backwards, all we know is that it's called the Clodbuster.

Why do you guys get all of the good deals? The cheapest Dragon that I could find on sale was a Thunder Dragon for $168.

Why is the saint dragon so much cheaper than the others?. I could get a Saint Dragon kit and a Fire dragon body shell for the same price as the fire dragon kit?

Yes, that's an awesome picture. Loved how much you pushed yours.

I've not speed run mine, but I am tempted to try. I've got a 12T EZrun motor, and if I go for 8 x 1.5 Volt Li-Ion AA batteries I could have 12 or so volts powering it. Would love to get a car breaking records on AA batteries!

Go for it, it will have a much better centre of gravity with the AA's all fitted in the bottom.

I need to get mine out again but been too busy with other things.

  4. This is the 2nd track I have made so I thought I'd try and document it as I'm considering making another so any tips, tricks or advice can be considered for future reference.

    My 1st attempt.

    Pros.

    Runs well.

Can stand in space in middle of the track.

    Cons.

6 pieces to line up as the inside lane was a later addition.

Needs better method of joining up the separate pieces.

2nd attempt started from scratch with nothing but pictures of the old one for reference which I didn't use.

Then, I think I ruined it with sticky back plastic, the black was ok, but the tin foil is just too shiny. But I did make a starting box and a little jump.

Biggest Con, it's very difficult to stand in the middle of this track.

And it only goes in one direction because of the way I've joined the track.

Next one's not started yet but it's in the planning stages and I'm thinking of trying a new style of lane changer.

This online track editor is great but I don't have 150metres of space so I'll just study the bits I plan to include next time.

  5. Slot car -R/C crossover.

When I built the latest mini 4wd track, I considered getting a small scale R/C car that would fit on the track but I think it would be more difficult and frustrating trying to keep an R/C car on the track unless it had the mini 4WD rollers which would be an easy mod.

Then I saw "Hot Wheels" make mini R/C cars that fit on hot wheels slot tracks but they are much smaller than the Tamiya mini4wd.

The kids love watching the cars whizz round, I wonder if they would enjoy it more if they had throttle control?.

I will have to fit some radio gear to a car and report back.......

  6. You're going to need 2 Clodbusters.

    xIf5WVP.jpeg

One to retain the stock charm and character.

    And one to modify slightly.

Some say, that when you start modifying a stock Clodbuster, you get sucked down an endless rabbit hole that sees you up until 2am desperately searching the internet for answers to the laws of physics and then wondering why something this big even needs lights when it can just smash through everything.

all we know is that it's called the Clodbuster.sXfLp11.jpeg

  7. Not familiar with Beatties???? I'm guessing you weren't in the U.K. or weren't interested in Tamiya in 1980ish?.

You must have seen the vintage Tamiya Beatties holdalls?.

You should put one on the shopping list along side diesel, kerosene, elbow grease, lawnmower, baking soda, gravity and magic.

some went off to talk about substances I did not ask about, have or intend to get.

I thought that was the intended thread direction?.

Actually, I couldn't help myself from joining the derailing of the thread direction after all the suggestions started rolling in but no one mentioned the dishwasher or the wife.

  9. A combination of the U.V rays from the light of a full moon and the earth's gravitational pull will clean that diff out with minimal fuss or damage. You could buy a light that replicates the light of a full moon from a shop and use the power of the earth's gravity to remove all grease and grime from the differential or perhaps my wife cleaned it when I wasn't looking?. Get a new less hostile wife?. Lol

    Sorry.

You had missed the parts about:

    A. I already have an electric lawnmower

    B. Since I cannot be bothered to use it cut the grass but just use weedkiller, it will not explode due to lack of lube, since it is never used.

And no, my question was not about what I should buy on my next shopping trip.

I'm only joking with ya,, I'm sure you know that but it'd not helping your decision making.

Can your wife not clean it for you?

I reckon if you ask your wife what would work best, dishwasher or washing machine, she might do it for you??

Worth testing??? If you're a brave toxic male chauvinist, and if not, take a lesson from Sean Connery and give her a little schlap.

  11. If you're asking about what you should buy next time you are out shopping, I think the community has decided, you should forget about WD-40, brake cleaner and just buy an electric lawnmower, some dry lube from an adult shop, 2 spare diffs for when it explodes due to lack of lube.  You should definitely buy paint!, didn't you ask about buying paint?. And tyres, you're gonna need tyres.

Oh and as for your actual question, have you got a wife?

    Sorry.

  12. Some say that Wild Willy wasn't always wild, it was waiting so long for his Honda city Turbo to be repaired and re-released that changed him.

I felt the same about the Sand Scorcher,

All we know is that he's called Wild Willy. (Stig.)

Some say that before he was Wild, Willy was the Stig, and that if you remove his helmet, you can actually see the centre of the earth?!!!!!

All we know is he's called Wild Willy.

Sorry for non 🇬🇧 members I am paraphrasing the song “Ernie the milkman’ who drove the fastest milkcart in the west.” A 1971 no1 hit in the UK

You're only jealous because you're a bus driver and never reached the dizzying speeds of a milkcart.

Was going to quote James May and say it's ok though because you can "have a joint" but you can't even do that on the bus now.
